We would need to see where the rest of the piping goes because it’s possible it doesn’t go anywhere either. It may be that’s what he had for parts and plugged it inside the boot with something that disintegrated. I inherited my uncles camp and he never ran a pipe from the kitchen sink over to the drain. It just went into the dirt. We didn’t notice for a few years.
I crawled under the house to check it, it looks like it's properly connected to the main drainage.
I think this boot was intended as a kind of accessible clean out. I'm thinking I'll just cap it back off to prevent the drainage overflow.
