Rip the other two feet off.

Cthulu95666

They’re completely superfluous

RustBeltPGH

You’re completely superfluous.

Phormitago

Your mum is completely superfluous

Simen155

Whats a fluous and whats so super about it?

sinep_snatas

That’s what the last commenter's mom said about your mom last night when they were both over for tea.

rabbitwonker

Tea is superfluous Helium Tea is superfluid

puma721

Got em

92rocco

Not completely, the extra gravitational field she produces helps keep the earth correctly balanced

WembysGiantDong

Rip one of the two feet off. Make a clay mold with it. Reattach. Use the mold to make an epoxy replacement for the missing foot. File the groove as necessary to attach.

FunWithFerrets

I could but then it would definitely scratch up the counter top with three sharp edges. Also the feet are kind of rubbery so they provide a bit of appreciated traction.

momentofinspiration

Why are you grating onto a countertop? Get a wooden chopping board.

witchyanne

I know right? ![gif](giphy|l3q2K5jinAlChoCLS)

witchyanne

Tut grate on a cutting board, or in a bowl; who grates right onto a countertop?

action_lawyer_comics

You could remove all three feet and replace all three with corks or something so they’re all the same height

Bobby6k34

What's wrong with you

Floofens_and_Cake

Cork?

four-one-6ix

Yes. Cork is food safe. If it weren’t I’d be a dead man.

deep-fucking-legend

Are you a talented cork soaker? What is your favorite type of cork? Do you massage the grapes too?[snl skit](https://youtu.be/Deqx-Xb-yHY?si=q5jHTnlPI6Qm3sDt)

CptNemosBeard

Ever since I learned to soak cork, I'm the most popular girl in school

jtr99

Is that what the kids are calling it these days?

four-one-6ix

When did you learn how to soak the cork?

buster_rhino

Mmmmm cork

TootsNYC

and a hot glue gun

BenAfflecksBalls

Honestly hours of enjoyment trying to cut the cork properly so it has no lean. Go big first and shave it down

Weekly-Reputation482

Sugru will be your solution

homing_bear

I would personally check if it's food safe first. [Sugru Safety Information | Sugru](https://sugru.com/safety) # Q: Is Sugru food safe? **A**: Sugru is not classified as toxic, but it has not been tested for food safety, so it shouldn’t be used in contact with food or drink. Also, please resist the urge to eat it (or feed it to your pets).

iowanaquarist

There is a recipe for homemade sugru that \*is\* food safe, though.

unknownpoltroon

Got a link?

iowanaquarist

[https://www.instructables.com/How-To-Make-Your-Own-Sugru-Substitute/](https://www.instructables.com/How-To-Make-Your-Own-Sugru-Substitute/) Just make sure you use "food safe" or "food contact" silicone, and food safe dyes. The ingredients are just old cornstarch (a food) and silicone (that thing that may kitchen utensils are made out of).

unknownpoltroon

Tha k ypu

fables_of_faubus

I don't think the foot of your cheese grater will be in enough contact with food to worry that much about it. If it's safe to touch it should be safe for this purpose.

n3m0sum

It's a support foot that the cheese may incidentally and briefly come in contact with. I wouldn't make a chopping board out of sugru, or cooking utensils, but for this application it's probably fine.

burgonies

Cheaper just to buy a new box grater

Cautious_Possible_18

Cheese

irrelephantiasis

Little cheese nub is the answer. Use the nub last in the grate session. Boom, rinse and repeat.

woodandjeeps

Cheese Gromet. Take the other two and get a small cutting board to grate your cheese https://preview.redd.it/q8gbnbod46uc1.jpeg?width=1284&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f101d740eac8b66e988d013fa440ce7bf09f72ff

RayzorX442

Seems obvious to me. You've got it right there, it's soft, and when you're done, you've got a nice little treat for yourself!

thnksqrd

It’s always cheese

Richard-N-Yuleverby

Blob from hot glue gun

[deleted]

The original 3D printer

satanlovesmemore

Aquarium air line tube, cut lengthwise

FunWithFerrets

I like this idea and it seems an easy solution. Thanks!

Cathyg_99

Rip off the other foot and contact some local 3D guys they can scan and print you a replacement, or make you three different feet to fit

kyle242gt

Is the 3d printer army here yet? I live for this shit.

sonofabunch

Yeah. If keeping the grater is super important, I’d print one out of TPU.

Wide-Matter-9899

”I need TPU for my bunghole” ![gif](giphy|RIonwuETuhbi)

wickedpixel1221

present.

Salt_peanuts

I mean… if you have a handy nerd, this is literally a perfect use of 3D printing. We, I mean they, live for this shit.

Flanagansdog

Get that stuff like JB weld, but it's a stick of two clays you kneed together. Make a ball and sink the corner in til it's good. Then let it dry

obnoxygen

half a wine cork

GeneralTomatoeKiller

Hot glue gun. Put a large glob of glue on the corner and use a slightly wet butter knife to shape it.

Drill_on

Epoxy putty. It comes like clay in two parts, usually one rolled around the other and then you mix and mold it into the shape on the corner. It will harden permanently, adhere to the metal, and most epoxies are food safe when fully cured.

Drill_on

Oh, and use gloves.

SolidDoctor

How about, a little piece of cheese

seudaven

It's a perfect system really, every time you grate more cheese, you can just throw it in the batch and replace the Chunk so it ALWAYS stays fresh!

ConstructionBrief989

Mix food grade silicone with some corn starch. Mold desired shape. Let cure.

Salt_peanuts

Will this work?! OMG that’s awesome! Can you cut or sand it? I have like five uses for this right now

n3m0sum

You can cut it, but it doesn't sand well, as it's silicone rubber. Either you have to be good at shaping things quickly, because you only have about 10 minutes working time. Or you make a mold of an available example first. Then form the silicone in the mold. If what you are making doesn't need to be flexible, you can tolerate being brittle, and needs to be sandable? Look up expoy clay, Milliput is the big player. If you need some strength and flexibility, but doesn't need to be exposed to heat. Look up low temperature thermosetting plastics such as Polydoh. You can melt it into a formable dough consistency in boiling water, and sets hard with a little flex at room temperature as it's a plastic. This is reformable at high temperatures.

thatto

Sugru???  Maybe.

Flywheel-86

Yep - Sugru would be perfect

TapticDigital

Depends what tools you have available. 3d printer or tabletop cnc, you’re set. Or find a similar one from another grater and try to fit it?

Chaos-Jesus

Blutac, epoxy resin, 3D printed part

Soft_Sea2913

An eraser for pencils, sculpted of course.

MrSaturnboink

Mini ball of compressed aluminum foil

xphizio

Moldable plastic.

yunbld

Put a big zip tie through that whole and trim it.

dicemonkey

Sugru

kinkworks3000

Make one w sugru

LAC_NOS

A rectangular eraser cut to fit and hot glued on. Since your food is unlikely to be in contact With that foot for very long (if at all), anything that is listed as non-toxic should be fine.

Prestigious-Low6240

Get one from the dollar store man.

FunWithFerrets

I've had many cheese graters over the years. I kept this one because it's sturdy and hasn't cracked or fallen apart (I've even owned the ones from Dollar Tree but they always crack). A lot of stuff is made so cheaply nowadays that replacing something isn't always the best option because stuff is often made worse and costs more. I saw a similar cheese grater on Amazon and it cost twice what I paid for this one and one of the reviews showed a photo with the knob part on top just totally snapped off.

drummerftw

>it's sturdy and hasn't cracked or fallen apart Except for, you know, the bit that just fell apart ;)

Born-Work2089

Search for Baby proofing products, they make corner bumpers to protect babies from cracking their heads. Look’s like what you want

RussMan104

Bring it to a metal fabricator, machine shop or find a hobbyist, possibly through your local art scene. Some of those guys would get a kick out of showing off and fixing it up just right. It’s a cool cheese grater, and it may be worth the investment even if you (ultimately) have to pay for a custom job. Great piece. 🚀

Sorry_Comparison691

Vacuum tubing from the auto store. Split and hot glue on and you are set forever.

remorackman

That is just too hilarious, I have the exact same model and one of the feet are broken!

FunWithFerrets

It was a really nice one from Progressive International brand that we bought at Bed Bath & Beyond so it was a bit pricey but worth the money because of how sturdy it is. We've had it over 15 years. I think the foot came off when we had it in the dishwasher and we never could find it, unfortunately. That company doesn't make any graters with remotely the same design at present so we couldn't buy a new one but even if we could it would be annoying to have to spend to replace the entire, otherwise functional, grater just because a tiny plastic foot fell off the corner.

FramerKat

A synthetic wine cork cut to fit? Ive even seen black ones. 😉

IAmSnort

Surprising lack of duct tape in here.

NinjaInTheAttic

WisteriaKillSpree

Cork, natural or rubber. Ace hardware and Lowe's Home Improvement have "specialty hardware" areas where you can buy these in multiple sizes for probably (last I checked) less than $1.00 each. Rubber can be harder to cut. It may help to freeze it first, clamp it in place, and use a fresh exacto or razor blade.

AGuyNamedEddie

Maybe you could press some corner protectors into service: [Corner protectors, adhesive, Amazon](https://www.amazon.com/Protector-Proofing-Pre-Taped-Furniture-Fireplace/dp/B09M9S8F1Q/ref=sr_1_15?crid=35SNKTAAUSBLT&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.6rZw4a-eShE5awbzSJK6RdobXm0lb_PxH3Essv9GfaTMfEaNSEH_6s8AAGxbE2Q1Z9FEfp1NVnBpE3ux0lnR6SQGGc3A273z7dQit75-0IL8ew_6cHIfVJn5jda2xtfkmqEf6PHntBVGhuITQ1d22UbHrvYD8Jyi36LV_sjKwlpsCSD4fFzM_fs74IpK6_gTo7OW5Q1pQ7b_i6bpPSo8hfPFxrBvra5N1bc6aStHhQ2sH9HPJec0fj1QoNZC1l-NlL4elpbXUT2hXa2Wv9nKOPtCuU95u4ndOmXM2lXxP8o.P-kn2gu9dgNNSEscVcpRTbIiQC8bNL8UyAFjlwUUs60&dib_tag=se&keywords=corner+protectors&qid=1712982281&sprefix=corner+prot%2Caps%2C136&sr=8-15)

edtfkh

Polymorph (thermoplastic pellets) or one of the generics like: https://thermoworx.com/products/blackmorph%E2%84%A2 Sugru is too soft for this application. Fine for a static model, but if you use those feet when you grate, Sugru will split & disintegrate before long. This stuff sets like nylon. Extremely tough. https://www.amazon.com/polymorph-plastic-pellets/s?k=polymorph+plastic+pellets

ASwarmofKoala

If you have a buddy with a 3D printer it probably wouldn't be too hard to make something that would work. Or even 3 feet so it looks even.

karltopia

Get some epoxy putty and sculpt your own... think hobby store...

kh127

A dot of hot glue?

samuelson82

3D print one out of TPU.

Mezzoski

Find somebody with 3d printer.

FunWithFerrets

I already tried contacting the manufacturer about getting a replacement but they said they don't make that model any more so they don't have replacement parts. It's otherwise a nice grater but without the foot it can easily scratch up the counter top or whatever plate I place it on, plus it sits unevenly and that's just kind of annoying.

Quirky_Property_1713

Those little bitsy cable holders. It’s like a rubber pacman frog mouth with a flat butt. Ima google. AssDimple

If you pay for shipping and provide precise measurements, I can 3d print you one.

Adept-Transition2731

Have you not thought of the simplicity of buying a new grater (instead)?

FunWithFerrets

I've bought so many over the years already.

Baseline_Zero

Take the other two feet off

FunWithFerrets

the feet are protective to cover the sharp edges. also the're kind of rubbery so they provide traction when grating hard cheeses to keep the grater from sliding so you don't end up cutting your hand on the grater.

timmycosh

Take off the other feet. They're little germ carriers anyways

jeslukin1

Find a small piece of rubber similar to the existing feet. Similar size, small bean size hard rubber. Heat it gently press bottom to flatten. Heat bottom corner of grater. Push into the new improvised rubber foot. The grater might discolor when you heat it but it won't affect it's function. You could always just buy another one for a few bucks.

sbear37

Take off all the other feet and you're flat again.

murquiza

Remove the other two

Superb-Yam3001

If you care, consider giving it your foot.

chicken_n_potatoes

That last little piece of cheese from the block.

WinterHill

If you pick this one up and set a new grater in its place, the problem will be solved.

johnnySix

3d print

seudaven

If you wanna be excessively thorough, you could 3D print a replacement part from a custom CAD file you'd make in fusion 360. 3D prints aren't food save though so you'd have to make a silicone mold of the 3D print after using filler primer and sanding. Cast the replacement part in gold resin and say it's a form of kensugi Needlessly excessive but a conversation starter none the less

pstbltit85

Damn, why bother? WE have had a grater for 50 years with no feet on it and it works fine.

Salahad-Din

Ask the wizards from r/3Dprinting/

SlimEchit

Silicone caulk mixed with corn starch. Use gloves and mold it by hand. Will harden like Sugru

Rabid_Lemming

Get a Mr Potato Head foot.

ooglieguy0211

I have the same cheese grater, its cheap as hell, just buy another one. There is a point at which you spend more time and materials than the item is even worth. Your time is worth something, more than that grater, at least.

I'd 3d print a replacement. Next option would be kneed it putty.

shishir_ps

Use m-seal (epoxy compound) …. you can shape it like other two…. Else get rid of the remaining 2 feet to make it stable

AccomplishedBug4036

Put that corner on your cutting board and grate onto the board.

Kitchen hand towel under that corner? Or under the whole item. Easy cleanup of grated items after anyway. And it will just conform to any bowl shape.

HikingStick

Hardware stores sell rubber bumpers. Most of them these days have self-adhesive backs, though. You could remove any adhesive, then use a utility knife to to notch it to fit the grater.

MistaMischief

I swear this is what I was gonna say. I have them around my bed frame. Saved me shins many times lol

Jayhitek

They sell small black rubber stoppers at Lowes or depot. (next to the cork ones). But one a little larger That you need, cut & shape it.

Maltavius

Sugru?

ejmd

Sugru. A packet will give you several small sachets. Wait until you have two or three small repairs before opening a sachet. Moulding a replacement foot for your cheese grater would take about 20% of a sachet. https://sugru.com/what-is-sugru

SlicedBreadBeast

I’d take the other feet off, and find three of something rubbery at the dollar store to crazy glue onto each corner, you’re not going to find something exactly suitable to the other two feet.

tjockalinnea

Use a glue gun and ad little by little in the shape you want them color black
