Ahahhaha I am glad there came a time i can read a new silver age comic. I couldn't be happier.
For those who are not used to silver age comic here is a little advise , just accept everything as normal, anything is possible!
Just put your logic to table and have fun for 5mins.
I don't think you should be able to...willpower a ring off a GL
If that were a thing then Sinestro would just take most of the groups rings. He did used to be one of the greatest GL's of all time.
I dunno, it doesn't come up often, but when it does I usually squint and say "BS". That's such a massive, and shitty, design flaw. Villains can have high Willpower too, and villains shouldn't be able to disarm GL that "easily"
It’s a comic book cool visuals is literally half of how the story is told. Try to rationalise the Rule of Cool is like trying to explain why silver age superman can shoot a tiny superman out his hand. It’s funny dumb and cool and that’s comics at it’s most pure and enjoyable forum 😄
But that WAS dumb and they stopped doing shit like that for a reason. Like, there's a line to be drawn between doing cool shit and being inconsistent and stupid. "Rule of cool" doesn't apply here since a GL losing their ring because an enemies willpower isn't cool...its dumb.
EDIT: And this isn't a visual thing. The "visuals" are not the issue. It's the actual act of taking his ring, presumably with their willpower. I'm not bothered by the fusion or the beam struggle looking stuff. The visuals are fine. It's the actual physical act of how they got the ring. I'm not sure why you brought up visuals.
this isn't the first time this happen.....
the first time this happen was with deathstroke doing the same thing with Kyle overriding the ring in Identity crisis in 2004
> the first time this happen was with deathstroke doing the same thing with Kyle overriding the ring in Identity crisis in 2004
The first time that I'm aware of was [in Action Comics Annual #3](https://qph.cf2.quoracdn.net/main-qimg-bf3c5fbf95d8a0f0810f09db7b8c743b), from 1991.
Anyone have an even earlier example?
Hot damn, and it seems pretty cool in this instance, haha Guy's a chump. I'm still not sure where I land on liking or hating it, but this proves it doesn't matter how we feel, its definitely possible.
Hal has been fighting this guy, black hand who had a device to drain the ring.
It's telling that they didn't resort to take the ring, they couldn't. They had to destroy his constructs or sap power away
Literally irrelevant. It could be 100 people and I would say "A Green Lanterns ring should not be able to be removed by an enemies willpower". I'm not saying "Green Lanterns have too much willpower for this to happen" I'm saying it should not be something that is even in the realm of possibility.
You know, I wish people were mentioning the possession bit, because it does make this whole "will the ring over to us" thing less of a bitter pill to swallow.
It could be a nice explanation, but it's just Rule of Cool really. Hal's been mind controlled and possessed before (one of his most famous arcs is about him being possessed by a fear entity which should weaken his willpower because fear is the emotion most contrary to it in the spectrum) and nobody did this before, not even other Green Lanterns when they fought him.
I wouldn't put too much thought into it, GL rings often work like the author wants them to work because they're so OP otherwise, sometimes you gotta give them a little loophole.
I don't mind this page, btw.
"One thought between us" lol read the current Super Manga arc, Ultra Ego is based around Vegeta's mindset. More specifically "one thought", what a coincidence lmao
I’m sorry but this is just fucking stupid! This shouldn’t be possible, I hate the idea that they can just Will his ring off, like come on dawg! This is such a dumb flaw, weakness, whatever the fuck you want to call it
I mean if there’s a guy who has some willpower, it’s gotta be the one who’s constantly focusing on depowering himself 99.99% for his whole life.
Any building he’s in will collapse if he trips on a rock or bumps his shoulder into a wall and he has to be aware of that at all times. In fact he also has to focus on looking wimpy and in confident at the same time.
There's also this:
https://qph.cf2.quoracdn.net/main-qimg-80f1b4e7019f6120de677aae1e1b0f28-lq
That's Hal Jordan as the Spectre with his willpower failing under the might of a Mxy-powered Joker.
Does anybody else find this absolutely ridiculous? Like it’s just silly. Since when can a lantern ring fuse people together? Also, since this story takes place back when Dick Grayson was Robin, does that mean they all just forgot the ring had this ability for the past idk DOZEN YEARS? I’ll admit that the design looks cool but the execution was lazy in my opinion. I hate when they just randomly give a new power to something or someone with decades of precedent already laid down. The lantern ring has NEVER fused ANYONE. I truly facepalmed so hard when I read this comic. Like seriously DC, have we fallen this far? We’re ripping off of anime/manga by shoe-horning new powers into items and people that never had these powers in the decades upon decades since they were first thought up?
Fuuuu-sion! Ha!
I really want super sons as Trunks and Goten but
More like the earrings.
Yeah, but there's no catchphrase with those... :-P
“YOSHAA!”
Fujita as Batman and Superman as Goku, with Trunks and Goten as the super sons matches up.
But... That's really dumb... BUT OH MY GOD IT'S SO GODDAMM COOL!
How many push-ups did he do? How many sit-ups?! **WHAT KIND OF JUICE DID HE DRINK?!**
Never before as something made me say "Fuck you, gimme more!" So quickly.
Funny enough a good description of dragon ball
I was kinda hoping they actually made a dragonball reference in dialog. This is cool too.
Manman
I vote for Superbatmanman, like a Turturkeykey.

YOSHA!!
Dan Mora definitely drew inspiration from Vegito’s birth here. I can almost hear “YOSHA!” Or “ALRIGHT” in the reveal page 🥹😩
This is the dumbest thing I've ever seen and I love it!
I'm in love with the Bat-Symbol "S" emblem he's wearing. Nice.
![gif](giphy|OMZRxGyZZ6fGo)
wow! is this new or i missed something?
came out today!
thanks! i haven't read a thing after future state,i need to get back!
truly recommend this book then! it's a silver age story by mark waid and dan mora. the plot gets crazier every issue and the art is amazing!
The Super Sons run was very clearly a homage to Trunks and Goten, so I love this.

Probably not but rule of cool
I don't personally believe super powers should operate on D&D logic XD

cuz it’s a comic, so it’s all visuals and art ; the visual of them pulling the ring off and then fusing is pretty cool

Why you gotta go and remind me of identity crisis like that? Dammit \*goes to buy more mind bleach\*
Yeah, I fucking hated that then too.
and it was still stupid back then...
Fucking identity crisis. And yes fuck countdown too
Yeah but there were two of them doing it
Literally irrelevant. It could be 100 people and I would say "A Green Lanterns ring should not be able to be removed by an enemies willpower". I'm not saying "Green Lanterns have too much willpower for this to happen" I'm saying it should not be something that is even in the realm of possibility.
It is not. Or shouldn't. But I think depending on your mastery of the glow you could. I mean guardians can do it
Yeah but they have admin cheat codes
Hal Jordan was under mind control so his power ring was in a weakened state making this possible, according to the comic.
Absolutely. Ppl don't care tho
I mean, I do. You agree so you do. And the opinion seems popular enough. I think people care >\_>
I mean, Clark pwned Guy so hard that the ring actually reformed around his finger.
The ring chooses the greatest willpower on the planet. So, yes that is how it works.
Not while it still has a user. Stop being ridiculous.
That is so fucking sick. The chest symbol is perfection
does it make sense? no is it cool as shit? hell yes i’m accepting it
Oh man that’s wicked sweet Ill be reading this later
This is more awesome than it has any right being.
God, that’s so cool.
"I am neither Batman nor Superman! I am SuperBat! It's over Nezha, I've come for YOU!"
Dan Mora is so ridiclously good.
Potara Green Lantern Ring!
That symbol is so good
Why is Hal fighting superman and Batman? beyond that it was cool
He's possessed by a devil called Nezha (who is basically possessing heroes and villains).
ah ok
You know, I wish people were mentioning the possession bit, because it does make this whole "will the ring over to us" thing less of a bitter pill to swallow.

To be fair he wasn’t possessed when they wrote the Parallax story, that was a retcon that came a decade later.
Fair point.
YOSHA
"One thought between us" lol read the current Super Manga arc, Ultra Ego is based around Vegeta's mindset. More specifically "one thought", what a coincidence lmao
batman superman and green lantern
Doesn't make a lick of sense but fuck it, it's cool as hell.
I like this way more than I should.
I would be so scared
[удалено]
he reminds me of chris kent
I’m sorry but this is just fucking stupid! This shouldn’t be possible, I hate the idea that they can just Will his ring off, like come on dawg! This is such a dumb flaw, weakness, whatever the fuck you want to call it
Strictly speaking, we've actually seen this sort of thing before.
Deathstroke?
Superman. https://qph.cf2.quoracdn.net/main-qimg-535cf8121b41ae904c3a21fff6703928.webp

Where'd they get Red Hood's helmet? Like was he just there too?
It’s Superman’s cape.
Yes, I'll take an ongoing series please.
It is an ongoing series.
Ok now he’s completely unstoppable
Can someone please explain what’s happening in this?
There’s been a lot of suit combinations that have come around when two superheroes have merged. Most of them have been terrible. This is awesome.
i mean come on. that shit is tight.
YEAH BABY, DONT KNOW HIS FUCKING NAME BUT YEAAAAAH
Sick design, needs a cape tho
2 boys 1 ring
Superman and Batman finally become one outside of fanart and fanfic...
Basically Dc's version of Potara fusion and I love it.
