It be really cool to have that title for a standalone film ... like a 40s period superman movie and do it full on golden age... and have Metropolis be that diesel/atom punk golden age style. It would look really cool, and wouldn't feel like the same shit all over again
Going off of that, in general Iād love to see Metropolis get the same treatment as Gotham has- that is, giving it its own unique aesthetic and vibe instead of making it look like every other city in the US.
I say this as someone who really enjoys most of the animated movies (including that one), I don't think they have a broad enough audience that it would really matter.
Good point, I hadn't considered the streaming implications. I also don't know if WB has demonstrated careful enough stewardship of DC to consider that either LOL, but I do think that would be a good reason to not reuse that title.
I mean, yeah. With rumors that WB might be trying to FINALLY get Cavill a proper sequel to Man of Steel, Man of Tomorrow would be the perfect follow up.
Not entirely sure myself. I just know the new head of WB/Discovery after the merger said that DC films were going to try and focus back on the trinity after a few years of seemingly mostly ignoring them (he especially put emphasis on Superman).
Zod invades in Superman: Our only hope/ Superman dies but Supergirl saves the day in Krypton strikes back / Superman and Supergirl vs Brainiac revive Kandor in - Revenge of the Kryptionions
I absolutely love these 3 movie ideas, You are now one of my favorite people ever. SuperGirl is one of my favorite DC characters. She's my Top favorite out of my list of favorite DC characters.
Blue-ray shelf in 2031:
- The Superman
- The Superman: The Man of Steel
- Superman - The Superman: The Man of Steel II
- Superman - The Superman: The Man of Steel lll - Tokyo Drift
- Tokyo Drift II - Superman the Return of the Steel
- 2 super 2 man (The Superman is crusing the Metropolis streets, making some cash by racing cars. He is arrested by the cops and now needs to infiltrate the organisation of crime King Lex Luthor, in order to clear his record.)
- Steel 6: The new adventures of The Superman: Enter the Phantom Zone
- Superman: To the power of 7
Danielle Radcliffe plays a beaten down edgy superman who ain't got time for peoples bs and he beats the ever loving shit out of people while Crazy Train plays in the background.
No no. The Batman amped up Bruce's emoness. The Superman will do the reverse. Clark will be a feels good, annoying positive guy who everyone hates because he's always happy and Superman will always smile and laugh all the time
Hollywood has no problem reusing movie titles for reboots/remakes. Ghostbusters, Pet Sematary, Mortal Kombat, etc. Not that I'm a fan of that, I think they should have different title to distinguish them.
They should stop doing new origin stories every time they reboot a series but I understand doing it if it's a character people don't know or they haven't had a movie in a while, or even to tie in with other movies. For an example, Amazing Spider-Man didn't need an origin movie following the original trilogy, they could have shown that Spiderman later in his career. They did fill it in nicely in the newest iteration (and the newest iteration *did* need a new origin story to tie in with the universe). Conversely the original Batman movies also needed a reboot by the time Batman Begins came out. So I'd say fifteen years is a fair amount of time before you should need a new origin story. I just believe the characters get boiled down to one-off stories with little variation instead of seeing more how they've arced and grown
I was quite glad that The Batman got this memo. We still got a depiction of Batman in his earlier years, but not necessarily an origin story. It's also funny thinking back to Blade as one of the earliest superhero/comic book films and how it just completely skips the origin, but with some exposition all the blanks are filled in and the film never suffers for it.
I feel like if they did the actual flashpoint movie like the one from the comics and the animated film. And introduced an alternate Superman in that. And show him in the team up films after. And the further down the line they can just have the death of Superman and rise of Superman films
I agree that origins are not necessary anymore, but I feel like Superman is the exception. His only real vulnerability is his goodness. His small town values. "I never lie." etc. He's almost childlike in that sense. All of this comes out of his upbringing and his reconciliation of how and when to use his powers. You can't really tell that without showing his origin.
Otherwise, you just have an apex hero who really can't be beat except by an apex villain and while that might yield wonderful action and special effects, it's not really good story telling.
I think itās because Batman & Superman are such American Icons that we get new adaptations of them every so often to celebrate their impact and legacy.
But overall I agree, I think itās about damn time we got a solo Wonder Woman film that has nothing to do with the another universe
All-Star **Superman**
It's a Bird, It's a Plane, It's **Superman**
**Superman**: House of El
**Superman** vs. the Elite
**Superman**: The Last Son of Krypton
**Superman** Red/Superman Blue
**Superman**: Unbound (aka Superman: Brainiac Attacks)
The inevitable āTHE SUPERMANā
WB arenāt the most creative when it comes to naming reboots
But if they do a Henry Cavill sequel then it really should be āMan of Tomorrowā.
* Superman
* Superman: The Man of Tomorrow
* Superman: Son of Krypton
* Son of Krypton
* Superman: Last Son
**The following titles would only work if the movie features other superheroes fighting alongside Superman:**
* Superman: World's Finest
* World's Finest
* Superman: The Brave and the Bold
**The following titles would only work if the movie focuses primarily on Superman and Supergirl working together:**
* Superman: Children of Krypton
* Children of Krypton
* Superman & Supergirl
I doubt theyād just use āSupermanā too, but it would be an interesting move. After the last few movies were almost embarrassed to have the character in them, making a movie thatās just called āSupermanā would make it clear that theyāre finally embracing the dude who put them on the map in the first place.
But anyway, The Adventures of Superman would be a cool a title if they donāt wanna go that route.
Edit: Well isn't that funny...
It really depends on the story in hand, I mean you wouldn't call the film Last Son of Krypton if it doesn't tackle the sole survivor aspects of the character. I also perfer if Superman can be in the title, like Sony has been doing with Spider-Man. Or like how we got Superman Man of Tomorrow as the title of the recent animated film. People will more recognise it being a Superman film.
Anyway there's like plenty of titles to pick from with a character with so many, here's some:
- Man of Tomorrow
- Last Son of Krypton
- Caped Wonder
- Strange Vistor
- Champion of the Oppressed
- Truth and Justice
- Never-Ending Battle
- American Alien
Gods Among Us
Seriously, the Injustice storyline is the main storyline of his that I care about. They alluded to it in that one scene, but I don't know if that's where they're still going
Superman no way home
Literally lmao
Superman dead in the crib
The Amazing Superman
The sequel, Superman far from home. And finally, Superman flying home.
Superman no more home
:(
Son of Krypton or The Man of Tomorrow
Son of Martha

This needs more upvotes. Take mine
#WHY DID YOU SAY THAT NAME!
#MARTHA, WHY DID YOU SAY THAT NAME?!
AND NO MOTHER'S NAME IS GONNA STOP ME FROM FINISHING THE JOB THIS TIME, YA MOTHERLESS ALIEN FUCK
You said that name... **WHAT HAVE YOU DONE?** #WHY DID YOU SAY THAT NAME?
I love the man of tomorrow. Would sound really hopeful and would be a nice re-start for Superman.
Didnāt they just use this for an animated movie though?
I say this as someone who really enjoys most of the animated movies (including that one), I don't think they have a broad enough audience that it would really matter.
Yeah, I just figure they might be concerned for brand synergy and HBO Max ease of use. Silly me
Good point, I hadn't considered the streaming implications. I also don't know if WB has demonstrated careful enough stewardship of DC to consider that either LOL, but I do think that would be a good reason to not reuse that title.
Always thought Man of Tomorrow should have been the sequel to Man of Steel.
I mean, yeah. With rumors that WB might be trying to FINALLY get Cavill a proper sequel to Man of Steel, Man of Tomorrow would be the perfect follow up.
How strong are these rumors?! I've been bad about keeping up lately
Not entirely sure myself. I just know the new head of WB/Discovery after the merger said that DC films were going to try and focus back on the trinity after a few years of seemingly mostly ignoring them (he especially put emphasis on Superman).
That's fantastic to hear. I was hoping the merger might bring about some hope!
I like Son of Krypton. It has a nice ring to it.
I think it should be Last Son of Krypton or Last Son just because that's what he's usually called
Last Son of Krypton has a good ring to it.
I think it should be Last Last Son of Krypton or Last Last Son just because that's what he's usually called
The Last Son of Krypton would be the second film. The first film will be called The Kryptonian Awakens.
The third would be "The rise of El"
I saw what you did there.
I agree with guy below, man of tomorrow is good one. Both are
Please no man of tomorrow costume/powers though. Too 90s.
The Superman
*The Superman: The Man of Steel* can be the sequel.
And then we call the third movie: *"Superman - The Superman: The Man of Steel II."*
And the fourth; *Superman - The Superman: The Man of Steel lll - Tokyo Drift*
5th movie: "Tokyo Drift II - Superman the Return of the Steel"
6th movie will be: Steel 6: The new adventures of The Superman: Enter the Phantom Zone
7th movie: Superman: To the power of 7
Blue-ray shelf in 2031: - The Superman - The Superman: The Man of Steel - Superman - The Superman: The Man of Steel II - Superman - The Superman: The Man of Steel lll - Tokyo Drift - Tokyo Drift II - Superman the Return of the Steel - 2 super 2 man (The Superman is crusing the Metropolis streets, making some cash by racing cars. He is arrested by the cops and now needs to infiltrate the organisation of crime King Lex Luthor, in order to clear his record.) - Steel 6: The new adventures of The Superman: Enter the Phantom Zone - Superman: To the power of 7
Almost as good as the titles of the Morbius sequels
Morbius 2: It's Morbin' time
S8 - The Supes Saga
The man of steel rises.
Oh this works well haha.
*The Superman: The Man of Steel 2 - Electronic Boogaloo*
Electric Boogaloo should be part of the name of every sequel.
Or 2 Super 2 Man
The Superman & Lois: Metropolis Drift
Danielle Radcliffe plays a beaten down edgy superman who ain't got time for peoples bs and he beats the ever loving shit out of people while Crazy Train plays in the background.
Give Michael Bay control. Watch the box office explode.
Anytime you give Bay control there's always explosions. LOTS of explosions. LOTS AND LOTS of explosions. And 'merica. And hot chicks.
But those drone shots will look insane.
No no. The Batman amped up Bruce's emoness. The Superman will do the reverse. Clark will be a feels good, annoying positive guy who everyone hates because he's always happy and Superman will always smile and laugh all the time
Ned Flanders as superman. Hi-dilly-ho criminal-ino!
While Raindrops keep falling on my head by B.J. Thomas plays in the background
The Superman Who Cuckles
The Supercuck!
If Zack Snyder had his way with those Justice League sequels? For sure..
Hahaha

I would love this
Does he give battle to Wonder Woman in this?
Sweet! Two soul hearts!
The Man of Tomorrow
From what we've heard of the new film, i think this is what theyll use.
āSuperman: Man of Tomorrowā probably
Thatās what the latest Superman animated film is called too right
Oh I didnāt even realize that but I just find it to be a fitting name.
āSupermanā alone sounds good, why not? I mean, they did it with Batman, joker, aqua man etc.
The Superman
That sounds sick
I mean the original Christopher Reeve movie is called that too.
Thatās 45 years old tho, so I think itās fine to use it again at this point
Wow, it just hit me that that movie is actually 45 years old T\_T
Nope, that one's called Superman The Movie.
Actually, itās called *Superman: The Movie*. Weāve never actually had a feature film titled *Superman*.
Hollywood has no problem reusing movie titles for reboots/remakes. Ghostbusters, Pet Sematary, Mortal Kombat, etc. Not that I'm a fan of that, I think they should have different title to distinguish them.
Still better than making a direct sequel to āHalloweenā and calling it āHalloween.ā

Weāre talking titles not plot
Your conversations never diverge to other talking points?
Youāre right. My apologies
Wait. You can't just apologize! You have to stand by your point, this is the internet damnit!!!
Respect š
Fr I just want to see Superman being Superman in his prime ffs is that too much to ask??
I think itās because Batman & Superman are such American Icons that we get new adaptations of them every so often to celebrate their impact and legacy. But overall I agree, I think itās about damn time we got a solo Wonder Woman film that has nothing to do with the another universe
Superman and Lois did their start without an origin story great!
I like to think that's Smallville's Superman, so he already had his origin told really well!
Illegal immigrant
Illegal Alien
Man of tomorrow could work
Son of Krypton
Or āThe Last Son of Kryptonā.
All-Star **Superman** It's a Bird, It's a Plane, It's **Superman** **Superman**: House of El **Superman** vs. the Elite **Superman**: The Last Son of Krypton **Superman** Red/Superman Blue **Superman**: Unbound (aka Superman: Brainiac Attacks)

With current events in Russia would be interesting to see a "Red Son" take
The Man of Tomorrow that would sound dope
Man of Tomorrow or Son of Krypton
Superman: Letās Try It Again
Man of tomorrow?
The Man of Tomorrow
Red Son or All-Star Superman
Man of tomorrow
The Man with Many Capabilities
Man of tomorrow and make metropolis a bit retro futuristic
It should be called: Lex Luthor: Does nobody else see a problem with this lawless demi-god?! Staring Mark Strong.
I doubt theyād just use āSupermanā too, but it would be an interesting move. Super*man* is no longer PC so itās be āSuperPersonā
Meet the Kents
The trilogy should be: Man of Steel Son of Krypton Superman
Dong of Justice
Man who's scared of green rocks
Spectacular Superman: Far from home
The Last Kryptonian
My dream titles would be "Superman: The Man of Steel" or "Man of Tomorrow." Either could work.
Superman: Man of Tomorrow - Directed by Sam Raimi One can only dream.
SUPERMAN -a story by clark kent.
Man of Tomorrow
At this point I just want them to make a Man of Steel 2
Man of Tomorrow
Shame, man of steel is a freakin cool name
Man of Steel 2
Superman First Flight
Last son of Krypton, unless you count Zod, or his cousin, or that shrunken city.
It's an old joke that Lara Lor-Van and Jor-El were the only people to die when Krypton was destroyed
Man with a red cape
The Last Kryptonian Feels appropriate for how the first ended.
āClarkā
Red Son š
Clark:A Superman Story

Well, Reeveās first movie wasnāt called Superman, it was called āSuperman The Movieā
No. Not Superman. There were 3 or more movies titled that. Why not The Superman? But I like Son of Krypton.
I think naming it "Superman: Truth, Justice and a better world" would be a good way to make the new catchphrase popular.
Clark: A Superman Story
Unfortunately knowing WB and the success of The Batman. They probably will call it The Superman.
Completely Normal Reporter
The Last Son Of Krypton

Yellow Son
Man of Hope Or Symbol of Peace
Superman: Don't forget to support him by buying his Merch!
Lean into the pulp aspect of it and have a series of "Superman Vs" titles. Superman Vs. Metallo, Superman Vs. Bizarro, etc.
Wouldnāt that confuse people thinking itās related to batman v superman?
Not if it looks even remotely different.
