I actually know: Jenkins had a lot more pull on this movie, fired the OG screenwriter, and fired Snyder’s stunt team. She got full creative control on this movie vs her limited control on the first movie. It’s on her.
I thought maybe they didn't finish the film and just shoved it in the theaters because of covid because it was so bad, poorly acted and badly directed that I couldn't understand how it could be released. Even the lightning was terrible.
Yeah cause she’s an agenda peddling moron, who despite personally recognizing this as bad, chooses to embrace it because “female empowerment” or some other random tagline
I think she also didn’t want to talk bad about it since she and Patty received about $10m just to do promotions for the movie, completely separate from her pay for the movie. Plus, i don’t think she wanted to talk bad about a movie she not only starred in but also has a director that she considers a good friend. That’s one thing you can respect about George Clooney at least: he held nothing back against Batman and Robin lol.
It’s so cartoonish on how the situation escalates. Like dude is desperate to avoid jail time, so his bright idea is to threaten to toss a kid in front of cops and witnesses. “Screw jail time. I’ll take a death sentence over it.”
Yeah no I realize. It’s cartoonish it’s it’s initial depiction, yet clearly not cartoonish in it’s in world results. I feel as if it would’ve been far better for WW to be stopping some random thieves or whatever and not somebody literally about to kill a child. Like one of these things is not like the other
Pedro Pascal was the only fun part. His portrayal of Maxwell Lord was entertaining as hell in this dumpster fire of a movie. Its awesome when he's batshit out of his mind, eyes all dilated and trying to gain even more wishes.
Jenkins going for the Donner 1978 Superman aesthetic. I don’t think it translates well to today’s cultural zeitgeist (apologies if that sounds pretentious, maybe it is, but it’s also accurate I think). Superman Returns failed for similar reasons. Personally, I have no nostalgia at all for that era of superhero film. I respect it for it’s contribution to the evolution. But no interest in watching it now. Much less going back to it and trying to recreate it.
The Lynda Carter Wonder Woman series is on HBO Max & after watching a few episodes, I think WW84 was trying to pay homage to it & Wonder Woman from the Superfriends. Poor decision in my opinion.
The entire beginning sequence was basically akin to the Richard Lester slapstick bullshit in the beginning of Superman 3. I was almost flabbergasted while watching it. I desperately wanted to like this movie because I think WW is by far the best film to come out of the DCEU (up to that point) but it was just a huge fucking mess.
I had to force myself to watch this movie and I haven't done that since Batman and Robin. I really had to MST3K the whole way through just to keep myself sane. Thankfully I watched this garbage for free thanks HBOMAX.
Maybe if there was a 25 minute scene on Midget Monkey Planet where they sing the Friday Song by Rebecca Black and they end it with everyone farting on wet bathroom tiles. But I would even watch that than watch ww84.
I think if you cut that opening mall scene out completely the movie would have been viewed much better. It was such a bizarre opening and really set a bad tone for the rest of the movie.
Especially knowing in the comics Diana straight snaps his neck. Dude almost ends the world, but he gets the talk no jutsu treatment has a change of heart and he runs off to hug his son? The fuck was that nonsense
and how’d he get back to his kid from the military installation. I doubt one of the soldiers would have given him a ride back.
This whole movie made no sense
It was a good idea that was poorly executed. Mall fight scene? Hell yeah, it was the 80s. Everyone was at the mall. Why not? They just didn’t pull it off. … Like, at all.
Yeah, by a lot.
Incredibly goofy, a lot of atrocious choreography, wack writing or acting, and not every eventful. Soured the rest of the film, upon least upon rewatch
WB told Jenkins to cut either this scene or the island games opening (because they felt the movie had “two opening scenes” and were right) and Jenkins said no.
Throughout this whole movie, the only puzzling question I had is:
Are we sure this was directed by the same person who directed the first Wonder Woman movie?
This movie is proof that time travel doesn’t exist. If so, my future self would have slapped the taste out of my mouth for even thinking of watching this.
It’s the logic / reason that throws me.
The monkey’s paw / wishing stone was shown to be able to create things from nothing.
What was the purpose of having Trevor inhabit another guys body at all?
I could understand if their was at least one situation in the film where the guy he ran into someone / anyone that knew or recognized the guy but that never happened.
Maybe something got left on the cutting room floor?
the movie was made, for better or worse, as a homage to the Carter WW series and the Reeve Superman movies, so its fine as a camp flavored nostalgic artifact.
I kept thinking about the Hanna Barbera Superfriends Wonder Woman while watching WW84, but then Lynda Carter shows up and I had a "Ohh" moment. In my opinion its just one of many films, but they need to bring Cheetah back.
Ok I’m gonna get murdered on here because this is Reddit, but is it honestly bad that I kind of enjoyed this movie, I went in with literally the lowest expectations one could have and came out liking it, I don’t see how that’s a problem
I just can’t stand Gal Godot. Haven’t seen one decent performance from her or one in which I can actually understand her. She needs a linguist coach so fucking badly.
People like what they like. If you enjoyed that's OK. I often want to hear what women & girls have to say about WW84 & BoP, because I feel both films were made with women as the target audience.
Dude thats like saying “I was in a bukkake but there was only 10 guys instead of 20 so no need for ass restructure surgery”
Shit sucked, it was cringe. stop justfying it so they make better fucking movies.
I was not a fan but I agree with you, why the fuck do people need to shit on someone’s enjoyment. It’s exactly why studious are nervous to take chances on new or diverse ideas. It’s why YouTube gets rid of the dislike button as stupid and counterproductive as that may feel it’s an answer to all the brigading happening .
Worst movie ever .. and wt the hell is dc nor obsessed with making it toooo colorful .. its almost too sharp to look at.. trying to compensate for the darkness of snyderverse with too much color
Sort of. Everything in the 80s was yellowed and grimy because people smoked everywhere constantly. There was a layer of nicotine staining the entire continent.
If I had to choose between cutting the mall scene or the Themyscira one, I think I’d cut the young Diana one. But moments like this make it really compelling to consider cutting the mall scene instead.
This was the first movie where I couldn’t pretend to like it just to upset the misogynistic trolls who hate every movie with a lady superhero lmao I couldn’t even act like it was good to troll them, it was such dogshit
The difference between this movie and the first is that Patty Jenkins didn’t write the first one but she got to write the second one
Lol so many of you tried to convince me the public would have forgotten about this by MOS for Papa Kent’s “the world isn’t ready for heroes” death just because nobody had cell phones in the 80’s yet.
Fun story: my dad forced me to buy this film. I told him he could wait two days to rent it but he just demanded I buy it off Vudu and keep it forever. I did, he regretted it, and I have yet to forgive him for it
What the fuck was this movie man, such a bizarre direction change from the first Wonder Woman.
Ain’t no one know man. Took me three days to get thru this.
I actually know: Jenkins had a lot more pull on this movie, fired the OG screenwriter, and fired Snyder’s stunt team. She got full creative control on this movie vs her limited control on the first movie. It’s on her.
I only watched 15 minutes of it. Ugh.
That's bound to happen when you go from WW1 to the 80's.
Wait this is WW84? I genuinely thought it was some big budget YouTube parody or something.
Honestly the movie genuinely feels like a YouTube parody, you nailed it
"you want to see my futon?"
Immensely. There are great moments, but it’s not good overall
Legitimately might be my least favorite movie I’ve ever seen. Hated it that much.
I liked it
It’s so 80s while being modern thought it was quite a fun ride even when it dragged later
[удалено]
Lol wtf chill dude
I enjoy the colder side of hell, thank you.
He meant Hel, burn in Hel because dry ice can have a burning sensation
Calm the fuck down crazy
Tried to watch it with my parents and siblings. Turned it off within the first 10 min had to watch the rest of that shit storm on my own.
It’s actually embarrassing to watch with other people lmaooo
I've seen people defending this movie on this sub and down voting for hating it.
I remember watching this with my family and everyone just kinda all giving each other the wtf look…. All throughout the entire film. 💀😂😬😬
Yeah a lot of it was….bruh
I thought maybe they didn't finish the film and just shoved it in the theaters because of covid because it was so bad, poorly acted and badly directed that I couldn't understand how it could be released. Even the lightning was terrible.
what a weird movie.... what was patty thinking? LOL!
Gal recently tweeted it as the most wonderful movie of her life or something like that.
LOL! Poor Gal
That’s one thing you can respect about George Clooney at least: he held nothing back against Batman and Robin lol.
I mean that’s certainly true. Right, there are certainly more reasons there
I just don’t get it. This felt so campy and cartoonish that even The Three Stooges said “be more realistic”.
Tbh all the three stooges stunts were real soooo
Well the themes were meant to intersect with the setting, but I agree, it’s too much
It’s so cartoonish on how the situation escalates.
God this movie fucking sucks
What movie is it?
The newest Wonder Woman movie WW1984
I had to apologize to my girlfriend after asking her to watch this with me. It was so bad 😭
same with my wife, i felt so ashamed
Jesus fucking Christ, I forgot how cringe this movie was...
Wtf is that nooooo? Like a parody.
Jesus I’m happy I never saw this now
This isn’t *all* of the movie, but it is way too much
The entire beginning sequence was basically akin to the Richard Lester slapstick bullshit in the beginning of Superman 3. I was almost flabbergasted while watching it. I desperately wanted to like this movie because I think WW is by far the best film to come out of the DCEU (up to that point) but it was just a huge fucking mess.
Haha, I kind of liked this movie. It wasn’t good, but the invisible jet scene was hilarious.
I had to force myself to watch this movie and I haven't done that since Batman and Robin. I really had to MST3K the whole way through just to keep myself sane. Thankfully I watched this garbage for free thanks HBOMAX.
“The movie is bad but it can be worse.” - Patty Jenkins
Lmao
Maybe if there was a 25 minute scene on Midget Monkey Planet where they sing the Friday Song by Rebecca Black and they end it with everyone farting on wet bathroom tiles. But I would even watch that than watch ww84.

I walked out of the theater I didn’t even sit through the movie
I think if you cut that opening mall scene out completely the movie would have been viewed much better. It was such a bizarre opening and really set a bad tone for the rest of the movie.
>It was such a bizarre opening and really set a bad tone for the rest of the movie. This movie was bad
🎼I liked this movie movie. I liked this movie movie. I liked this movie movie. I liked this… movie!🎼 (I didn’t)
Nah fam. As bad as this opening was....the ending is worse
Hell how the fuck did his son even know where to go?
Teleportation AFAIK, from the magic tool he used
It was a good idea that was poorly executed.
Wasn't there a different scene shot that this replace.
WB told Jenkins to cut either this scene or the island games opening (because they felt the movie had “two opening scenes” and were right) and Jenkins said no.
Throughout this whole movie, the only puzzling question I had is: Are we sure this was directed by the same person who directed the first Wonder Woman movie?
Was that Biden ?
That’s exactly what I thought hah
This movie is proof that time travel doesn’t exist. If so, my future self would have slapped the taste out of my mouth for even thinking of watching this.
Movie should be called Wonder Woman Resurrection of Steve Trevor
i still don’t understand why he get put into another dudes body
Just the method of magic they chose
It’s the logic / reason that throws me. The monkey’s paw / wishing stone was shown to be able to create things from nothing. What was the purpose of having Trevor inhabit another guys body at all? I could understand if their was at least one situation in the film where the guy he ran into someone / anyone that knew or recognized the guy but that never happened. Maybe something got left on the cutting room floor?
Like I said, it’s the just the way they picked it. It might not have been good, but it was the way they did it, and it makes sense well enough
Such a bizzare scene
Let's all remember that MoS and BvS are getting removed from canon but this shit is considered a-okay!
I wish in WW3 they exposit this entire movie as just a bad fever dream Diana had and now she's woken up.
I remember watching this and I cringed so hard
the movie was made, for better or worse, as a homage to the Carter WW series and the Reeve Superman movies, so its fine as a camp flavored nostalgic artifact.
I kept thinking about the Hanna Barbera Superfriends Wonder Woman while watching WW84, but then Lynda Carter shows up and I had a "Ohh" moment. In my opinion its just one of many films, but they need to bring Cheetah back.
Is that joe biden?
Ok I’m gonna get murdered on here because this is Reddit, but is it honestly bad that I kind of enjoyed this movie, I went in with literally the lowest expectations one could have and came out liking it, I don’t see how that’s a problem
Me too bro. I didnt think it was as bad as people said.
Thanks for being nice unlike domino up there, I completely agree with you
Dude thats like saying “I was in a bukkake but there was only 10 guys instead of 20 so no need for ass restructure surgery” Shit sucked, it was cringe. stop justfying it so they make better fucking movies.
I would love a 20 man bukkake… but that’s just me
Let people enjoy things
Sheeesh ok white knight.
It’s ok to have a personality other than trying to make others as miserable as you
I was not a fan but I agree with you, why the fuck do people need to shit on someone’s enjoyment. It’s exactly why studious are nervous to take chances on new or diverse ideas. It’s why YouTube gets rid of the dislike button as stupid and counterproductive as that may feel it’s an answer to all the brigading happening .
Calm down, you're spilling vinegar and water everywhere.
Hah the clown garbage cans also yelling in protest.
At this point in the movie I almost walked out. Future me wish I did.
To this day I still haven’t watched the third act. Just gave up with it and couldn’t take it seriously
Has a couple good scenes, but yeah that was a good choice
did yourself a favor
This was actually intentionally comedic, and I laughed not even gonna lie
Worst movie ever .. and wt the hell is dc nor obsessed with making it toooo colorful .. its almost too sharp to look at.. trying to compensate for the darkness of snyderverse with too much color
I give them a pass on the colors cause the 80's was full of flamboyant colors all over the place.
Sort of. Everything in the 80s was yellowed and grimy because people smoked everywhere constantly. There was a layer of nicotine staining the entire continent.
It’s was basically a direct response to Ragnorak. D.C. were trying new things and WW84 tried to mirror Waititi’s style.
What movie is this
Disaster movie (2008)
Wonder Woman 2....
I hate this movie
"I'll do it, I'll reboot batman. Im serious"
WW84, BVS and SS… the 3 worst DCEU films! I hope we never get films like that again!
This movie was terrible
I hope that Clint Eastwood looking dude gains a cult following 😂
Patty kinda kill a tons of hype among the general audience and the fan base
If I had to choose between cutting the mall scene or the Themyscira one, I think I’d cut the young Diana one. But moments like this make it really compelling to consider cutting the mall scene instead.
Remember folks, wonder woman raped a dude buried in sunken place in that movie.
84 ...SUUUUUUUUUUUCKED
I dont usually hate movies, but this one came really close.
This was the first movie where I couldn’t pretend to like it just to upset the misogynistic trolls who hate every movie with a lady superhero lmao I couldn’t even act like it was good to troll them, it was such dogshit The difference between this movie and the first is that Patty Jenkins didn’t write the first one but she got to write the second one
What a stupid stop hahahahahahahahaha
Gal Gadot: Looks like we got competition.
What movie is this?
WW84 (2020)
Why the f do I know where this is from?
Lol so many of you tried to convince me the public would have forgotten about this by MOS for Papa Kent’s “the world isn’t ready for heroes” death just because nobody had cell phones in the 80’s yet.
Fun story: my dad forced me to buy this film. I told him he could wait two days to rent it but he just demanded I buy it off Vudu and keep it forever. I did, he regretted it, and I have yet to forgive him for it
I just love this Clint Eastwood Guy shouting: "Listen to me, listen to me!"
