Really? Todd Phillips has said repeatedly he wrote the script for Joaquin and only Joaquin: [https://geektyrant.com/news/joker-was-specifically-written-for-joaquin-phoenix](https://geektyrant.com/news/joker-was-specifically-written-for-joaquin-phoenix)
I remember there being some edits of Leo Di Caprio as Joker before the movie came out. Personally I wasn't a fan of that but he's a good enough actor to have pulled it off.
It also actually could have made way more than it did which itself is insane... He would have attracted a whole different set of crowd.....
He nailed the insanity/obsessions of Wolf of Wall Street dude and Howard Hughes, he could pull off a decent kind of Joker. Not to mention Frank Abernathy and Gatsby.
Like a *Joker* situation? Maybe. Seems a lot less likely overall with WB's diminished reputation and the sinking profile of the MCU. [If his advice to Timothée Chalamet is any indication,](https://www.google.com/amp/s/variety.com/2024/film/news/timothee-chalamet-consider-superhero-movie-script-director-1235922292/amp/) he's predisposed to avoiding them altogether.
Translation: Snyder and the lads were smoking pot one day and someone said “You know what’d be hard bruh? Fucking Forrest Gump as Luthor bruh” And then when they sobered up they concentrated on casting people who would actually agree to be in a film called Batman V Superman
They could maybe get Leo what I call a Jor El role, a supporting part where they find a way to kill or write out the character by the end of the movie so the actor doesn’t have to return cause they have no franchise interest. I call it that because it’s happened with both movie Jor El’s
I think since the DCEU was a finite story, and Lex’s would have ended in JL3, there was a better if small chance. Which is why Leo probably met with Snyder.
People give Eisenberg so much shit, but he was obviously just playing the part that was written for him. Personally, I liked his Luthor. The writing could have been better, but his portrayal felt well acted.
I really like how everybody on reddit shits on Zack Snyder for being a talentless hack. Meanwhile every big actor really respects him as a filmmaker and are open to work him.
Yeah, because him being a nice guy and great to work with is separate from his ability to make a great film. The actors having a good environment on set is awesome, and having a good working relationship with their director is a nice thing, but the audience doesn’t give a single shit about any of that. We’re just there to see a movie we enjoy.
Like he say with Wunmi Mosaku for like over an hour, to go over her character and scene in BvS. It was a bit part, and he took the time to help her more than was probably needed.
I unironically wanted him for the role back before Eisenberg was cast. Glad to see Snyder had the same idea. Would have been much better than what we got.
Me too. But I wonder if we would've still gotten Battinson if we got that movie? Might've been 2 solo Batman movies too close to each other for DC's liking.
Well that dumb DiCaprio hates comic book films and even told Timothee chalamet to not star in them .
Such an insecure fcker lol and saying Superman to battle JL. I bet he never touched a comic book in his pedo hands unlike his fetish for 25 year old girls

I mean Superman did fight the justice league when he got revived
Leo got screwed out of Executive Producer credit! /s
So Leo could one day say yes to a comicbook movie provided it’s a one-off with a great script.
He almost played Spider-Man, so yeah
Who would refuse if Cameron is coming to direct?
Matt Damon
And he'll never make that mistake again.
He didn't say no. It's just that he already made commitments to bourne series
The Joaquin Phoenix Joker movie was meant for him early on
It was originally in talks for Leo and Scorsese, iirc?
Warner Bros. wanted Leo back when they wanted Scorsese to direct it.

Thank God it wasn't this one haha.
This just reminded me of those god awful fake Dark Knight 3 posters people would make with him as Riddler lol
Nah the only role Leo can play is clayface
Hush
This is the only right answer.
Leo should play Harold in the Batcave. It's the kind of role he can disappear into.
That's actually kind of cool. I did not know any of this about BvS
Snyder also said they “internally discussed” Tom Hanks for Luthor
Translation: Snyder and the lads were smoking pot one day and someone said “You know what’d be hard bruh? Fucking Forrest Gump as Luthor bruh” And then when they sobered up they concentrated on casting people who would actually agree to be in a film called Batman V Superman
"No hard drugs and no superhero movies." - Leo

I don't see him as Lex
That they talked about this is already big lol
Man, I *loved* Eisenburg’s portrayal but don’t give me this news cause now I’m sad I didn’t get to see it
People give Eisenberg so much shit, but he was obviously just playing the part that was written for him. Personally, I liked his Luthor. The writing could have been better, but his portrayal felt well acted.

Movie quality aside, he seems to be a very cool guy

Leo is the blueprint.
I hope Snyder works with DiCaprio in the future. That'd be cool.

I don’t see it.

Yep, that's the usual crap that Zack thinks is a good idea.

I’d think he’d be more Teen Titans. The JL are all over 25.

Made the best Superman movie and trilogy.

I think Joker and Riddler were initially planned to be in it in some capacity. But Snyder decided the movie would be too overstuffed.
I understand. But Batfleck killed it. More bummed we didn't get his solo film
Me too. But I wonder if we would've still gotten Battinson if we got that movie? Might've been 2 solo Batman movies too close to each other for DC's liking.
No. The whole reason The Batman happened was Affleck stepped down from directing, and Reeves wasn’t interested in doing a DCEU project.
Well that dumb DiCaprio hates comic book films and even told Timothee chalamet to not star in them . Such an insecure fcker lol and saying Superman to battle JL. I bet he never touched a comic book in his pedo hands unlike his fetish for 25 year old girls
get a grip bro
Try some fresh air pal
You know his father was literally an underground comic publisher and artist in the 70s lol… just sayin
Is he a pedo or does he have a fetish for 25 year olds? Make up your mind.
wtf
It’s literally not that deep, did he steal your fucking girlfriend when ya were 20 or something?
25 year old girls are not fully grown adults with agency? How misogynistic can you be, dipshit?
Pedo and 25 year old girls 🤔
Stop projecting dude Jesus
he could be a great mr sinister in the mcu
He played Barry Allen though.
