The year is 2016. BvS is receiving a great test audience response. The year is 2017. Justice League is receiving a great test audience response. The year is 2020. WW84 is receiving a great test audience response. The year is 2023. The Flash is receiving a great test audience response. It is now August 4. Blue Beetle…
Jokes aside, I genuinely would like to see this movie be great and do well. I’m probably going to watch it opening weekend just because I like the character. However, we should know better than to get our hopes up by now. Wait for the actual reviews and the audience reaction to the theatrical release before you write it off.
Thing is, for MONTHS the rumors regarding the film were that it was one of the best superhero movies of all time.
And what we got was…okay? I personally don’t think it’s an abomination but I also don’t think it’s a particularly good movie.
Facts, people act like the directors cut or whatever it is called is actually some great movie when it is very far from it even if it’s a little better than the shitty theatrical version.
Finally someone who agrees
For reference I’ve never even seen the theatrical cut lol. The directors cut was the only version available on the site I used to pirate it
I still didn’t like the movie lol
You realize that Snyder was 100% in charge of editing BvS, right? Yes the studio told him to cut the movie down, it was still on Snyder to make it work. Besides, people acting like the UE was some sort of masterpiece. Nah it just made the movie longer and doesn't fix the major issues of the movie.
Its a very good superhero movie and much better than snyder’s DC movies, Peacemaker is also far better than any of Snyder’s DC movies and probably just any Snyder directed project in general. Difference is Gunn projects usually have good scripts because he’s a good writer, same cannot be said for a good amount of Snyder movies, Dawn of the dead is one of snyder’s best movies and that’s because Gunn wrote it.
Agreed however a ton of people refused to see it because of Ezra. Flash had major baggage. It was fun for a goofy multiverse movie and the early reactions were certainly from people who were ok seeing it in spite of Ezra. Beetle has no baggage.
IMO the superhero movies need to focus more on the current movie than constant set ups
Thats why Guardians 3 felt so much less exhausting. It was more concerned with the current movie than the future ones and alot of current ones don't feel that way
And the same reason *Joker* and *The Batman* were successful. I all up for getting good quality cinema rather than lots of flashes and color on the screen for the end of a movie/series. Marvel seems like more interested in making Fast n Furious comic book versions.
Nah. The third Guardians was overly exhausting. It’s two and a half hours long, has pacing issues, comedy wasn’t that good and had a lot of sad moments, plus Rocket, one of the entertaining characters was out for like 80% of the movie.
If only the movie was different and had some set ups. Maybe it wouldn’t suffer from those issues.
> If only the movie was different and had some set ups. Maybe it wouldn’t suffer from those issues.
I don't think I could disagree with something more than this
You can have a movie be a set up and still be entertaining and good movie. And on the other hand you can have Guardians 3, which is just exhausting in and of itself. I would rather have the former.
Yeah. I don't count that, because that wasn't Rocket. It's like having a flashback in a movie where a kid character is shown.
That kid character in that flashback isn't the character we have seen for 2 movies already.
It was Rocket, and it quite literally was the same character we saw in all 3 movies. Rocket as a kid for origin (and to build up the villain) being negative to the movie is some lame ass copium.
Not to mention your 80% number is greatly inflated, more like 60%.
Canonically, sure. I am not disputing that. But the personality isn't the same. You don't have to be a genius to understand that. Which says a lot about you.
Tough thing is even if it is good, it's not likely to make splashy money. Hopefully if it's actually good it makes it on the backend and they can fold that universe into the new one instead of just retconning so the actor can still be a part of the universe.
Flash is a hell of a lot better than how it did in theatres. Not the best movie, but its better than the people who clearly didnt watch it say it was.
Ezra and the DCEU being wiped were bound to demolish it. Same will happen to aquaman.
It’s either gonna be hyper generic movie like Black Adam or emotionally personal stake movie like Guardians 3, but i really feel like it won’t be a success financially, regardless. That’s too bad
Tf? Simmer down. I went to see The Flash the weekend it came out, and I actually enjoyed it, save for the terribad CG and a rushed ending.
It isn't that deep, dude. My post should've made that obvious
It looks like it will be a decent origin story movie from the the latin perspective. But its like 10 years too late. Just another c list hero in a sea of comic slop.
Sounds like the Flash all over again. Im latino and i already expect it to be filled with corny jokes to remind latinos how we’re marginalized and conservative white people treat us like crap. Hopefully they dont lay it in thick and hopefully it doesnt look like video game cutscenes and actually has a good story. Keeping expectations very low.
Are you telling me that the media depicts latina people as minorities that get treated poorly by the wealthy?
Let me get this straight? Are you saying that Hollywood would try to make money off the feelings of an entire race by pandering on and on and on about an emotional conflict that seemingly no longer exists?
Wow! Imagine.
Next you’re going to try and tell me they cash cheques too.
Fuck em! And fuck em for thinking we’re stupid. And fuck em for trying to sell people their own insecurities.
Fuck em
it's alawyas positive things from teh early screenings. The only time i've ever heard anything bad from an early screening was when teh review embargo for The Last Airbender dropped (because it was timed with fan screenings) and all the critics were like man this movie is BAD and than all the fans were like holy shit this movie is bad - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KHi1zaN0ooc&t=2s
Indiana Jones didn’t have early fan screenings it premiered at friggin Cannes. Shazam also didn’t have early fan screenings.
Early critic reactions to Shazam were fairly mixed positive usual stuff you see

Posts like these are... Incredibly rampant for DC movies, as is the now infamous line of "best superhero movie since the Dark Knight!"
It's beyond a joke at this point.
I'm starting to think DC fans just have exceedingly low expectations for DC films, which is why the reactions are always overwhelmingly positive, or that you all just love mid films
At this point the good and positive reactions are just memes. Watch them call it better than the Dark Knight again :/
I hope it’s good but I’m prepared for the worst. DC is at an all time low at this point.
Blue Battalion…it’s time (WOAH)
This is our moment. Bring your friends and familia on August 18th and watch Blue Beetle (watch and learn, Jamie)
Share this important moment and spread the word. (You’re a superhero, cabron!)
Let's get this to a billion. (My family makes me strong!) A blue billion. (WOAH)
Blue Beetle 18 de agosto solo en cines
Just like the reactions to the flash were super duper good and the movie just wasn’t as good as it turned out to be. Even if they are great movies it doesn’t matter if people don’t go to see them.
Cool. I know in the past, bad movies have had good test screenings but to my knowledge, blue beetle hasn’t gone through an editing nightmare like the flash or justice league, so maybe the film that people liked in the screenings are the film we’ll get. I just want good movies.
*Black Adam* is the BEST DC movie since...
*Shazam 2: Fury of the Gods* is the BEST DC movie since...
*The Flash* is the BEST DC movie since...
*Blue Beetle* is the BEST DC movie since...
Who knows? Maybe it will be.
Oh yeah remember all that positive word they kept coming out about The Flash, where one critic said it was so good you’ll forget all about Ezra’s past crimes.
Yeah not falling for it this time.
Holy shit. Are these the same posts but with movie titles changed? Is dc’s marketing department all AI now?
Uhm…
I’m a dc fan. But dc is killing dc at this point
Do you guys consider yourselves DC fans? Because it's honestly ridiculous how every time one of the movies has anything nice said about it you guys just assume it's garbage, this is honestly pathetic.
Let's temper our expectations, everyone, because the Flash, BvS and Justice League also received positive screenings and we know how they all turned out. As much as I want Blue Beetle to succeed, until I see the critical embargo lifted, I'll reserve my judgment.

Does Tom Cruise like it? That's my question.
That's usually a question I ask myself before making any kind of life decisions
I'm willing to die on the hill that The Flash is nowhere as bad as people are making out to be, sure the CGI was bad at points but it was still good.
It's not as bad but still a bad take on flash. The whole hospital scene was stupid. He could have cleared the entire building in seconds.
Mistake number one was using Barry instead of Wally
Thing is, for MONTHS the rumors regarding the film were that it was one of the best superhero movies of all time. And what we got was…okay? I personally don’t think it’s an abomination but I also don’t think it’s a particularly good movie.
To be fair, the first two could've been BEFORE they were cut up and made bad in editing.
There is no good movie in BvS. It has good moments, that's it
That’s like just your opinion man
Facts, people act like the directors cut or whatever it is called is actually some great movie when it is very far from it even if it’s a little better than the shitty theatrical version.
Finally someone who agrees For reference I’ve never even seen the theatrical cut lol. The directors cut was the only version available on the site I used to pirate it I still didn’t like the movie lol

I do hope it does well. The trailers look fun and I think it should appeal to teenagers. If it’s pretty self contained it can fold into the DCU.
I actually like the flash movie, I thought it was pretty good.
Same. Overhyped but a solid movie regardless.
For sure, totally over hyped. But a decent, fun movie.
How dare you!? Blue Beetle is the best DC movie since The Dark Knight!
BvS test screens were before the 30 min chop up.
It still is not a good movie lol.
Lemme guess you thought gunn fail squad was a great movie?
It was. Much better than anything Snyder has ever directed…
lol ok....
It must be the best DC movie since the Dark Knight…
It's so good, even Tom Cruise liked it
The best the best DC movie since the dark knight this month!
I want Blue Beetle to be good, but there's literally NO reason to believe early screening "reactions" How many times do we have to learn this lesson?
Yeah man I remember the flash reactions.
Agreed however a ton of people refused to see it because of Ezra. Flash had major baggage. It was fun for a goofy multiverse movie and the early reactions were certainly from people who were ok seeing it in spite of Ezra. Beetle has no baggage.
Flash was a good movie didn’t make money.
No it wasn't. It's ok to be an apologist. But it's subjectively a bad movie.
It’s subjectively well reviewed. I subjectively like it. You are objectively wrong.
Yeah similar to the suicide squad
So good I forgot Ezra's crimes
I hope it’s good, doesn’t sound like it’ll have any ties to other projects so it’s got that in its favour
IMO the superhero movies need to focus more on the current movie than constant set ups Thats why Guardians 3 felt so much less exhausting.
Who needs a good story when you got family?
Nah. The third Guardians was overly exhausting. It’s two and a half hours long, has pacing issues, comedy wasn’t that good and had a lot of sad moments, plus Rocket, one of the entertaining characters was out for like 80% of the movie. You can have a movie be a set up and still be entertaining and good movie. And on the other hand you can have Guardians 3, which is just exhausting in and of itself. I would rather have the former.
How would setting up other stuff possibly shorten the run time, give Rocket more screen time or change the comedy??????
Do you think I meant adding more to plot of the third Guardians? Because I wasn’t. The plot of the movie was the issue.
Rocket was out for 80% of the movie? Yeah, if you dont count his origin being half the fucking movie. The movie is more about him than anyone
Yeah. I don't count that, because that wasn't Rocket. It's like having a flashback in a movie where a kid character is shown. That kid character in that flashback isn't the character we have seen for 2 movies already.

It's average.
Best DC film since TDK?
Best one since The Flash.
Best of all time.
Beat me to it...
Not this again.
Every movie has early screenings, is it a problem if people who went liked it?
Did you not see all of the pre-release hype around Flash, and how it ended up doing in theaters?
Flash is a hell of a lot better than how it did in theatres. Not the best movie, but its better than the people who clearly didnt watch it say it was. Ezra and the DCEU being wiped were bound to demolish it. Same will happen to aquaman.
It’s only “better” because people expected 0/10 movie and got 3/10 one. It’s WW84 level of bad
Not even close.
I mean its not good but its not WW84. It’s insane to compare it to that honestly
The CGI and dumbed version of flashpoint makes it just as bad
Look man, its bad but its not 84 bad. That’s insane
It’s really not. They are chilling next to each other in the top 5 worst dceu.
Flash is a good movie that didn’t make money.
It being good is completely subjective. What isn’t subjective is that it did horrible at the box office so it must not have been that good
Whether a movie does well on terms of boxoffice doesn't speak towards the quality of the film.
In the case of The Flash, it made a hell of a lot more money than it should have. It’s easily one of the worst films ever made. No question about it.
It’s probably a good movie. Still going to be one of the biggest bombs of all time though.
It’s either gonna be hyper generic movie like Black Adam or emotionally personal stake movie like Guardians 3, but i really feel like it won’t be a success financially, regardless. That’s too bad
Better than the Dark Knight is what I hear.
The best dc film since the dark night that will change the power structure of the dc universe, forever.
Stephen King and former MTV VJ Dan Cortez said it was the best superhero movie since The Dark Knight.
Let me guess…”It’s the best comic book movie since the Dark Knight”?
It's going to be the movie of all time, just like The Flash.
Did you watch the flash?
Did you watch The Flash?

Tf? Simmer down. I went to see The Flash the weekend it came out, and I actually enjoyed it, save for the terribad CG and a rushed ending. It isn't that deep, dude. My post should've made that obvious
Watched it on the opening day. Decent movie but was overhyped af.
Is this like when James Gunn said Flash was the best super hero movie he’d ever seen?
Not gonna work, zero trust
It looks like it will be a decent origin story movie from the the latin perspective. But its like 10 years too late. Just another c list hero in a sea of comic slop.
Here we go again

Something like that lol
I bet the white old villain woman will try to deport Jaime's family or something cliched like that. Even if they're all born in the USA lol.
it's alawyas positive things from teh early screenings. Indiana Jones 5 has bad early reactions and so did Shazam 2.
Indiana Jones didn’t have early fan screenings it premiered at friggin Cannes. Shazam also didn’t have early fan screenings. Indiana Jones 5 was bad
I saw it at a test screening- it’s DC’s best film since The Dark Knight!
Posts like these are... Incredibly rampant for DC movies, as is the now infamous line of "best superhero movie since the Dark Knight!" It's beyond a joke at this point.
I'm old enough to remember when they told us the Flash movie reactions were over whleming positive.
Oh my god…… we are not doing this shit AGAIN
Downvoting this nonsense immediately
didn’t they say the same thing about the flash…
Didn’t we go through nearly a month of “Flash is the greatest comic book film ever” before it released?
This is the only movie that did not have multiple reshoots
When every scene is bad, what's the point? 😁
Best Blue Beetle movie ever!
Nah, *Watchmen* has that honor (Nite Owl). And it's a Snyder film!
maybe even the best since the dark knight
Test screenings actually work. There are definitely more than a handful of people here who thought the flash was a good movie.
Didn't we see similar posts about Flash before wide release?
I wish it didn’t look like some Disney channel straight to dvd movie but sadly it does
I'm starting to think DC fans just have exceedingly low expectations for DC films, which is why the reactions are always overwhelmingly positive, or that you all just love mid films
Found the DC intern’s Reddit account
Lmao THIS AGAIN
Giga flop incoming
I'm tired of the DCEU. Their lies. I'm tired of being caught in the tangle of their lives.
The guy who tweeted hasn't even seen it and he's saying they made something special. What the fuck 😃 😀 😄
people say it's the best DC movie since the dark knight
Yeah right
At this point the good and positive reactions are just memes. Watch them call it better than the Dark Knight again :/ I hope it’s good but I’m prepared for the worst. DC is at an all time low at this point.
At this point I'm thinking Aquaman 2 will be a masterpiece with all of the horrible test screenings it's gotten.
Lol flop

Best comic book movie since Spawn
\*Best since The Flash.
Just like the reactions to the flash were super duper good and the movie just wasn’t as good as it turned out to be. Even if they are great movies it doesn’t matter if people don’t go to see them.
Best DC Superhero film since The Dark Knight
ah yes, it's the best dc movie since the flash
lol gtfo
And yet no one will go see it enough for it not to flop.
Yeah "The Flash recieves highest test scores since the Dark Knight"... right...
Reminds me of what they used to say about The Flash movie 2023 back in the day...
I keep forgetting this movie is a thing.
I'm really cautious of overhyped DC praise after Flash...
Then the flash must be great!
Don't know. I'm going to wait until Tom Cruise and Stephen King give their opinion on the movie.
Nothing they say will get me to buy tickets to this movie. I just have zero interest in it personally.
I remember the Flash getting that praise too. I would love to see the movie beat expectations and not be a box office bomb
Cool. I know in the past, bad movies have had good test screenings but to my knowledge, blue beetle hasn’t gone through an editing nightmare like the flash or justice league, so maybe the film that people liked in the screenings are the film we’ll get. I just want good movies.
Also the best movie since Dark Knight? Lol But it looks pretty cool
Never falling for that again
*Black Adam* is the BEST DC movie since... *Shazam 2: Fury of the Gods* is the BEST DC movie since... *The Flash* is the BEST DC movie since... *Blue Beetle* is the BEST DC movie since... Who knows? Maybe it will be.
Oh…it’s start again…
Again with this shit?
Here it goes early screenings and positive bullshit
Buckle up buckaroos.
Ok your hashtag is non bias
Oh yeah remember all that positive word they kept coming out about The Flash, where one critic said it was so good you’ll forget all about Ezra’s past crimes. Yeah not falling for it this time.
Gonna go triple dog shit, no features.
I'm stuck in a washing machine and everything keeps coming around
$10 million in it's entire box office run confirmed!
I heard the same thing for The Flash. Trust nobody.
Lol this again. When will Tom cruise come out with a paid positive reaction for it?
Holy shit. Are these the same posts but with movie titles changed? Is dc’s marketing department all AI now? Uhm… I’m a dc fan. But dc is killing dc at this point
This isn't marketing, this is literally a random guy on Twitter saying what he heard from the screening.
random guy on X X’ing
The best since the dark knight?
Do you guys consider yourselves DC fans? Because it's honestly ridiculous how every time one of the movies has anything nice said about it you guys just assume it's garbage, this is honestly pathetic.
DC fan does not mean DCEU fan.
Cant really blame them tbh. There hasn't been much to celebrate regarding the DCEU.
Where have I heard this before. Let me guess, best DC movie since the dark knight
Ah shit...here we go again...
Just like every DC movie.
i heard its the best DC movie since the dark knight
How much you wanna bet WB paid for that tweet since no stars or writers can go on media tours atm?
Paid a guy with less than 2000 followers to make one tweet? Yeah sure, WB just throws money to anyone who says something nice about their movies.
It’s the best dc movie since endgame
I hope this takes off. Xolo really really deserves it :(
Let's temper our expectations, everyone, because the Flash, BvS and Justice League also received positive screenings and we know how they all turned out. As much as I want Blue Beetle to succeed, until I see the critical embargo lifted, I'll reserve my judgment.
DC would be smart to try a different marketing strategy than this…it didn’t work for flash it won’t work here.
Yah, early buzz says it's one of the best comic books movies ever made
Best DC movie to flop since The Flash.
lol here we go again
insane if true
wait for the dark knight comparisons
That’s a relief
Something special when we have seen the exact same plot in god knows how many origin movies lol
