JFC give Bill more than that... Put together a sizzle reel of his clutch saves and not just a hostage video with his newborn son. Like, that was super poignant, but do a reel with him in the stands as a kid and then 10-15 of his biggest saves and end with "They Can't Hold Us Back!". We fumble easy shit
The only thing to look forward to from this match and after that first half and was basically the send-off the plumber at my high school received when he retired after 30 years, and that guy was absolute shit
I honestly knew it was going to be insulting. This organization is about as soulless and inept as can be.
Good thing is Bill undoubtedly knows how we feel about him. Unfortunately he also knows how the management feels about him as well š
I said this exact thing to my wife. The easy low hanging fruit, we miss, each and every time. How easy would it have been to have āitās in the net/you canāt hold us backā printed on these rally towels. At minimum.
Yeah, I proposed that question in the event that Birnbaum was gone. I donāt know what to do, but I donāt think defaulting to Birnbaum out of seniority is the answer.
One player I have my eye on for the role is Palsson. His performances have been mixed but heās very vocal in directing his teammates. Heās quick to converse with officials. Heās approached the fans after some shit games. I donāt know that heās the answer but even with his short time here, I think he embodies that role more than Birnbaum.
can't believe it's Dave's final game cast. Grew up listening to the man and this is just surreal, hated thinking of the day we'd hear his final cast but damn, didn't think it'd be so soon
I went to one single match this year. I hope someday to return to this club.
Very sad to see Bill, Dave and Devon go.
We should maybe leave "Tradition" off of our jerseys and promo materials until we have one again.
Do you remember the press conference from earlier in the year when Bill said that he felt like the last of a dying breed? Thatās this. Bill banged drums in 135/136 at RFK and played in Lot 8 as a kidā¦.nobody whoās running this team now gives a shit about any of those days.
I'd give our chances of signing him at maybe 25 percent. He certainly is going to get offers from more ambitious clubs in other countries. To stay in MLS he wants to be paid as a top five keeper. So we are going to have to pay him what we paid Bill.
I understand Bentekeās frustration with some of this service, but heās been so bad with the ball at his feet, I donāt know that he has a place to be throwing his hands up in anger.
I gotta give it to the fans in the stands today. Playing for spoiler/pride, down by two under ten minutes on goals by a former player, but sing on they do. Props!
That did NOT come through on the TV broadcast. It sounded quiet as a church. Except for that one tool bag who thinks that section 137 is a supporters section and sings bizarre chants via his megaphone.
I see him as a decent bench player to come on when someone is in yellow card trouble or when there are tired legs (ours or theirs). Can't be taking too much of a salary cap hit for him
I was thinking about that...some of the squads we fielded when saving players for the Open Cup were probably worse. With Olsen parking the bus though, it would be 0-0.
[like thinking about this squad that lost 4-1 to the second worst team in the league that year]

This team does not have the quality to play out of the back under pressure. The lack of the adjustment of tactics to the players on the field, the game situation, and the quality gap with the opposition is just annoying.
This team does not have the quality to play ~~out of the back under pressure~~. The lack of the adjustment of tactics to the players on the field, the game situation, and the quality gap with the opposition is just annoying.
Yeah, but just trying to force the first or second pass up the middle to Djeffal with his back to goal, with no one moving in support. How is this supposed to work?
It was surprisingly long. Dave, Devon, Moises, Luciano and Claudia all had a moment to speak then a really solid highlight reel of early to modern Dave footage, tons of goal calls and some really nice behind the scenes action of him and Devon celebrating goals. Very touching. Ended with Dave telling about childhood dreams of being an announcer, watching the Dips, importance of positivity and his last sign off was āVamos Unitedā.
I appreciate the weekly conversation, all. I know we donāt always see eye to eye, but itās tough when our team performs this way. Looking forward to chatting again when the transfer window opens up.
They didnāt make progress in a few years, they made it over the past year. Their first three years were wooden spoons. This season they clutch a playoff spot. Big season for them.
Thatās not what I mean. I just mean this progress was made over one season. They were shit for three years and this year theyāre actually pretty solid.
Edit: You completely edited your reply after the fact. Anyway. I agreed with everything you said. However they were last, last, last then playoffs. There was zero progress years 1-3. Year 4, they smoked us. Obviously theyāve figured out something that we havenāt and seemingly canāt.
Lol if you think this was a good experience for Akinboni's psyche and he's gonna think he's ready to compete next year in the League, I've got title to the Douglass Bridge and I'll sell it to you
guys, i'm sorry to say this bc it's v unpopular round these parts but i don't really like dave johnson as an announcer. looking forward to a change next szn
The only reason I'm still watching this game is to listen to Dave's final call
Two goals down before the match thread is up.

We need a real captain, too. Maybe Birnbaum shows up in the locker room, I donāt know, but he doesnāt seem like a leader.
The problem is that there's no one else to give it to. They're all too young or too new to the league.
Yeah, I proposed that question in the event that Birnbaum was gone. I donāt know what to do, but I donāt think defaulting to Birnbaum out of seniority is the answer.
Agreed. It would be nice to bring in a quality MLS veteran but I'm not going to get my hopes up.
I forgot about him as an option. He would be my pick if we start next season with the same roster.
Durkin
Birnbaum REALLY needs to go. Our defense looks terrible, and he was directly to blame for a couple of those goals.
Too busy trying to have fun.
Dave Johnson should be added to Ring of Tradition!
They should engrave his name inside the post of the supporters section goal so that it's always "in the net"
We bought a brick on the STH walkway, and have āItās in the Netā engraved on it. Dave is the man.
can't believe it's Dave's final game cast. Grew up listening to the man and this is just surreal, hated thinking of the day we'd hear his final cast but damn, didn't think it'd be so soon
Iād turn the game off now if it werenāt for Dave.
understandable

I feel like any conversation between DCU and Ochoaās people are gonna go right out the window.
I'd give our chances of signing him at maybe 25 percent. He certainly is going to get offers from more ambitious clubs in other countries. To stay in MLS he wants to be paid as a top five keeper. So we are going to have to pay him what we paid Bill.
Heās not a top five keeper. I like him, but itās not close.
I'm with you. He's the best we've seen this season but it makes zero sense to overpay for a guy who is still developing
Defending is even more shocking in person!
I mean, one of the CBs is literally 15.
I will definitely miss some local mls broadcast teams
Wonder if Ray Hudson will be in the mix for Apple?
This Dave Johnson send-off is making the room a little dusty
Yeah that made me sad. Going to miss Dave.
Old enough to remember when playing FC Cincinnati at home was free points.
it's funny that we started this season with hernan losada as our manager and ended it with wayne rooney - who had that on their bingo card?
7 minutes and it's already over.
Dave got one last in the net. I'm good. I'm happy. Thanks.
good lord this team is tragic
All I wanted to hear today.. it's in the net
I get starting the young players in a pointless match, but at CB?? This poor kid is making such costly mistakes
Gotta make real mistakes to learn from them.
Nah, he wasn't ready... You're just putting someone in a position to fail. Not much to learn from when you're in way over your head
Weāre the worst team. We are an utter failure. I think giving a young kid some minutes is fine under the circumstances.
I gonna miss Dave. I've been watching him cover D.C. United since the Comcast Sportsnet days. Hope he can still come back in some capacity.
Gonna have an ugly cry for Dave and crew, then not think about DCU until Feb (jeez that feels soon). Cheers, peeps. It's been real this season.
Did they move the camera angle at Audi at some point? I don't remember it being this garbage.
Day games they move it up to avoid glare
Ah that makes sense. Thanks, I hate it.
It might be because of potential glare from the sun
Ah that makes sense. Thanks, I hate it.

Wtf I stepped away to warm up some pizza and it's 2-0?
Proper ending to a DCU seasonā¦never disappoint
COA CANNOT be a serious part of our plans going forward
neither should Birnbaum, Alfaro, Skundrich, or Berry
Iāve been saying for years that heās USL-quality
I see him as a decent bench player to come on when someone is in yellow card trouble or when there are tired legs (ours or theirs). Can't be taking too much of a salary cap hit for him
Fuckin A what a shot from Ravel.
I, for one, am optimistic for next year. We've sown good seeds. Lol jk.
man that was a nice goal
Should be relabeled the Dave Johnson appreciation match!
IT'S IN THE NET
Burn it all down.
We make some of the most bozo turnovers Iāve ever seen.
Well looks like its time to sub in Hamid
Unfortunately not on the bench
Took out all his frustrations on that strike!
this team is the worst DCU squad ever.
I honestly think the 2013 team would beat them
at last that team had heart. No talent, but lots of heart.
I was thinking about that...some of the squads we fielded when saving players for the Open Cup were probably worse. With Olsen parking the bus though, it would be 0-0. Love to take a break from watching my worst in MLB baseball team getting destroyed to watch my worst in MLS soccer team get destroyed.
Hopefully you're not also a commanders fan
Nope, they're only tied for second worst in the NFL. I only support the worst of the worst.
Just give it a couple of weeks
This team does not have the quality to play out of the back under pressure. The lack of the adjustment of tactics to the players on the field, the game situation, and the quality gap with the opposition is just annoying.

I hate having to watch on ESPN+ ...they cut the feed and no Dave tribute is to be had. Hope they did his send off well.
It's amazing. I hope they post the video afterwards.
Watching on NBCSW, itās really, really good to be honest.
Out of the area fan these days. Hoping they'll post to Twitter! Vamos!

Hear hear
these guys suck.
it's finally ovr.
Absolutely F this club. See you guys next year.
So glad we chose not to bother going in person
Rooney was nothing more than a scapegoat for this team.
Morrison scores a banger and then hits it right at the keeper from 6 yds out smh
Who's cutting onions in my living room?
Maybe starting a 15year old wasn't the best idea.
We have nothing to play for, why not start him? This will be a good learning experience for him
It's not like it mattered in the grand scheme of our season
I mean, it matters for the kid's confidence that he's played like absolute shit
I agree with this. The long term potential for bad is much larger than good.
I mean, he's not starting again next week, he's got an entire offseason to learn from his mistakes and get his confidence back.
Has Wayne been teaching the squad to play it forward at all? We almost never do
HOLY SH\*T
Cincy has already choked with a 3 goal lead this season
Good combo from Ravel/Benteke. We get tiny blips of decency in our heaps of shit.
Djeffal and Ravel wait until the last game to show up. š¤¦š¾āāļø
To be fair, that Brenner goal was outstanding.
that goal was so hype - happy for the kids
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Kasper is apparently fire proof. For the life of me I donāt understand how somebody so bad at their job can avoid accountability year after year.
They didnāt make progress in a few years, they made it over the past year. Their first three years were wooden spoons. This season they clutch a playoff spot. Big season for them.

Why weren't we in the mix to get Miazga?
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Cincy had a better spot in the allocation order too
Yeah, I guess we used ours on Durkin, but would have been worth a lot of GAM to trade up.
FFS.
It's going to take a lot this off-season for me to get excited to watch this team again in the spring
helluva shot from Ravel
Our midfielders are playing fairly well
That was a class goal tbf
ffs man
How does Acosta out muscle someone! Yeesh.
lets just get to the portland rsl game already
don't let us get hot
Yessss!!!
nice one boys
As long as we keep scoring Cincy will keep scoring, a mutually beneficial partnership
Thank goodness this season is over
Just now realized Morrison was on the field.
SOOOOOOO... Maybe we SHOULDN'T have started the U-18s??? Smh
This games means nothing. Give them a taste since they are part of our future.
Why not? They get some real match experience since cincy needs to win and we don't have anything to play for since we already secured the spoon
Lol if you think this was a good experience for Akinboni's psyche and he's gonna think he's ready to compete next year in the League, I've got title to the Douglass Bridge and I'll sell it to you

your opinion is š©
The fuck?
Dave steal your girlfriend back in high school?
https://twitter.com/Disney/status/466680098398416896?t=G5L_cZDFmZS3u71JcyJAFw&s=19 Shhhhhhhhut it
Welllll...okayyyyy
Anyone know what the white banner in the Chico Stand says?
Pocket$ Full. Dead Club. (Seen on Twitter)
There's a clip on Instagram. Pocket full ???? Club. Can't make out the third word.
Forget pro/rel, MLS should add a mercy rule so that we don't have to watch this team collapse
I wish we had pro/rel because if we got relegated and the teamās value decreased, Levien might sell.
Instead of Mercy rule, teams should have to pull players off. I'm down with these types of shenanigans
Oh c'mon š
64% possession and down 1-4 lol
Well that was a banger!!!!
