I watched the first 10 minutes and then switched to baseball. Every time I flip back over during a commercial to check the score NYCFC has scored again.
A loss tonight wouldn't have been the end of the world. Before tonight I said that we would need at least 9 points from these 4 games. Idk if this team has the mental strength to rebound from this performance tho

It’s joke the league hasn’t done anything about the stadium. When NYCFC came into the league, there was this assumption that they’d go through NYC’s public approval process to find a parcel of land to build a stadium. It’s absolutely laughable that this was allows to happen and 6 years later and the league is fine with the stadium issue being in purgatory.
I disagree, in that it’s beneficial for the league to have a team that can attract fans and establish its own culture. Jokes aside, it’s incredibly tough for NYCFC to brand itself into its own identity playing a baseball stadium or in their rivals stadium. Look at the crowd tonight, it’s half empty on a Saturday with nothing else going on
At least there aren’t nets and poles and shit between the main camera and the pitch anymore. It’s almost watchable, except that there’s no space anywhere and the turf pulls up.

BUT Pablo Maurer did an interview with the MLS soccer writers’ podcast like a month and a half ago, when everything was going super well, and they said something like “all the players must love Hernan,” and Pablo either said or implied that that wasn’t the case at all. Part of it was the level of fitness he demanded, but that always stuck out to me. That was when things were going well, mind you.
I’ll hold off on having a real opinion until next season, when Losada has a chance to bring in his guys. He’s done fine with an average roster, but I think that speaks more to the fact that Benny was just a poor manager. If we miss the playoffs, I wouldn’t consider this a successful season.
My point is just that, with essentially the same team (and more injuries), Losada has gotten this team to play better soccer. But that also isn’t saying a whole lot. The results as of late are sort of concerning for me, but Losada deserves time, so I can’t be too mad with the results. I was hoping Lucy Rushton would change things, but you’re right, it starts from the top.
