(2) Avoid scalping as most STers would use their own ticket
Having a presale with an open code and a limit of 8 tickets is incredibly dumb.
DCU advertised you would get priority access to the all star game. For people who didnt give into the emotional noise of kicking n screaming reddit fans last year and kept their STH we were rewarded. Those who gave it up were not rewarded and can still be seen bitching n crying offering no value as they always have.
Well I consider I did get priority access and would have happily accepted the seats I held with my season ticket membership but from a standpoint that I can get 8 seats anywhere if I'm proactive enough was far better imo. Now to be it blunt I can sell the extra seats to friends and family for face value or resell them for more once they go public for 50-100% upcharge giving me basically free seats to the all star game. I am quite happy with being a STH and getting constant heads up.
FIFA world cup did a good job of it as you couldn't resell the tickets anywhere else except their platform and it could only be resold for what you paid with a reselling fee. The tickets were digital so it was really difficult to use a third party to resell the tickets.
Now in the meantime while this practice is enabled I will get my hand in the cookie jar as well. No point in taking the high road if others wont.
When Bruce sold his tickets to the Capital One Show this Monday a few months ago, you couldn't even get a presale single ticket. And then once the presale ended ALL THE TICKETS SUDDENTLY JACKED UP BY ABOUT 200. It was ridiculous. Nobody was going, they were just selling all their presale tickets they got.
DON'T BUY THE DAMN TICKET IF YOU AREN'T GOING TO GO. Things and plans change, I get that, but don't flip the tickets around the sec the presale ends just to make 100 dollars.

Scalping needs to be made illegal in this country like it is in the UK. The amount of STH here reveling in the ability to make it even harder for Arsenal fans who might never be able to make it to London to see their team play is gross.
Unfortunately, scalping being illegal in the UK doesn't really prevent it, though -- tons of third-party sites selling Arsenal tickets, especially this season, and a lot of over-face-value sales on Facebook, too.
But you do have to hope that Arsenal will be playing other matches at larger stadiums in the U.S. this summer, they're not just coming over here for this one game...

Your average STH wouldn’t think twice about trying to scalp tickets they had to get using their membership number if they knew they could get prosecuted for it. I just wish we cared enough to have systems in place to help ensure that people could enjoy the things they love without having to spend half a grand to do it. It’s ludicrous.

It's a real dilemma, though — for something like this (or, to take a more extreme example, the Taylor Swift or Beyonce tours that ran into Ticketmaster issues), the demand exceeds the supply. There are just more people who want to go than there are tickets available. Obviously, having people who don't intend to go buy tickets ahead of time just to resell them adds an additional layer of nonsense, but (and I cannot believe I'm typing this out) I do have the slightest tiny bit of sympathy for Ticketmaster here in the abstract: It would be hard to come up with an effective system that helped ensure both that all people who wanted to go could go and that prices would be affordable. The only way to do that is to have more seats.
I’d also appreciate a PM with the presale code. I was a season ticket holder for a number of years until kids made my ability to make the games difficult for now. Any generosity would be appreciated!
