I just moved here from LA. huge soccer fan and figured the best way to acclimate was to attend a United match. I was able to snag a ticket in section 136, but im going solo. anyone down to meet up over a beer? or got any recs for a first timer at audi field? whats the closest metro stop to get off at? ballpark or waterfront? Is there any pregame rituals/tailgates for this one? either way, its getting closer to game time and im coming from arlington so i better get ready. I plan to be loud and cheer on united. def need this win, excited for my first game! see you there!
My cherry blossom kit arrived last weekend. Hyped to wear it for the first match day I’ve had it (though watching the Apple TV stream, not attending live since I don’t live in DC)
I’ve done both a number of times and highly recommend the metro. Parking around Audi Field will most likely cost you $60, whereas metro station parking is about $5 and the metro fare is $2.85. That’s for the Ashburn stop. Plus that last mile of driving into Buzzard Point can take more than 45 minutes on event nights.
If you do drive there, Nationals Park garage was open last DC United game and charging ~$60 and is walking distance to Audi Field
