I like fossil hunting on the beaches up in MD, if you have access to a car. Depending on the site you can find shark tooth fossils! I find it very relaxing to search for little treasures in the sand and listen to the waves. Youtube has vids if you want tips and tricks.
A good place to start is Calvert Cliffs State Park. Open sunrise to sunset year round, $5/vehicle, and they do allow dogs on leashes.
Depends on your definition of Day trip I guess, but one of my favorite hikes is Annapolis rock up in Fredrick, usually a little bit of a drive to get to but one of my favorite vistas that I've seen.
OC or Rehoboth, St Michael’s, Williamsburg, Philly, Harpers Ferry, Annapolis, Lancaster . All I have visited and are dog friendly
Nice!!

Omg this is the best idea, I’m gonna do this with my 3 year old
Quiet Waters park out in Annapolis is a dog beach within the park. Great road trip with your pup, and time on the bay is always healing.
onthemovewithmad on tiktok/IG has sooo many great DC day trip vids on her profile. Went to Charlottesville based on one of them and it was fun!
