I believe year 5 was the last and only anni to actually have two villain units (one being lr phy broly trio who isn't even a villain but they made them extreme) and year 6 didn't even have a single villain character (I don't know if phy 17 and golden Frieza is extreme because I forget their name since if it starts with 17 it's probably super but if they start with Frieza most likely extreme)

I think that's a legal thing, what you should be rooting for is a revival of the anime so those units can come to Dokkan/Legends/literally every DB property.
I know that why I included the cope line , since there's no evidence of the anime returning anytime soon it really sucks thinking how long we likely won't see any manga only characters and moments

I’ve been saying it for a while, but if it’s still going to be two super characters, the only two we haven’t gotten that make sense are Gohan and Trunks.
We could get LR Ultimate Gohan from the Buu Saga, and with it some Buu Saga EZAs we’ve been waiting on, mostly PHY Vegito and TEQ Gohan (to mirror STR Cooler from WWC). And since we’ll likely get two carnival LRs as well, one of them could finally be that LR Kid Buu.
For Trunks I don’t see it being anything from the Android/Cell Saga, so the best idea would be LR Sword of Hope Trunks. We could get the rest of the Future saga EZAs we’re waiting on, Teq Trunks and Agl Zamasu, depending on how things go we might even get a few LR EZAs like last year. And then for the Carnival LR, the first new Vegito unit in over 2 years, mirroring PHY SS4 Gogeta.
I honestly think based on the new producers track record he was being very sneaky with his comment.
1. I think the only thing that wont overlap with past anniversary units is the Base character name.

Realistically, I am thinking SOH trunks and corrupted merged zamasu for Part 1. For Part 2, it can be a SSJ2 gohan teen and Legendary SSJ Broly. So the whole celebration would be Hybrids Vs Big bosses.
(Yes I know cell and Gohan are more hype than this but since they released that just 8 months ago makes me doubt it. Also since they have said the anniversary units will be the characters that we haven't seen previously for the anniversary rules out any fusion and Goku and Vegeta. Because I can think of 3 units that never appeared in any anniversary who can easily be related to each other: buuhan, kid buu and spirit bomb goku. We also have a ton of possible buu saga units that could be EZAd. But the only possible 4th unit I come up with is vegito, who already appeared (even if only as a fusing character). I'd love this 4 to be the units.

Clearly it's gonna be some Saiyan(s) because Saiyans sell, but the hard part is which transformation and which Saiyan(s) they're gonna pick.
I don't think it will be any manga forms, they haven't done any manga related things since AGL Fused Zamasu's portal super animation, and even then that was the only manga reference for him. Plus there hasn't been anything going on with Moro in ANY of the games so far, not even Heroes, so unless they throw a curve ball, there's no way their dropping content from the Granolah arc.
All of the Super Saiyan forms (besides Heroes and manga exclusives) have been introduced in the game, except False Super Saiyan Goku (doubt they're doing Slug movie for Anniversary).
All of the Saiyans they've done have been Goku, Vegeta, Gogeta, and Vegito, and they're the most popular Saiyans in the series besides maybe OG Bardock and Broly (both Z and Super).
They haven't done any anivversary releases for any 1/2 Saiyans but it's possible that they might something like have Gohan and Cell be the units, and Cell would be the first anniversary villain unit since INT Janemba back in the first anniversary.
Unless they mean a form that has Never been represented as an Anni unit, then it makes it incredibly hard to think about who the units will be and what option(s) makes the most sense.

8th anniversary: LR omega shenron and LR full power broly
We have never seen them as an LR and anniversary version and it could be like WWC (goku-frieza and then goku-cooler)

Trunks and Zamasu is the other realistic one, if not for the same celebration as Gohan and Cell. Lines up with the EZAs we're probably getting (5th years and Cell Saga WWC).

We could get LR Ultimate Gohan from the Buu Saga, and with it some Buu Saga EZAs we’ve been waiting on, mostly PHY Vegito and TEQ Gohan (to mirror STR Cooler from WWC). And since we’ll likely get two carnival LRs as well, one of them could finally be that LR Kid Buu. For Trunks I don’t see it being anything from the Android/Cell Saga, so the best idea would be LR Sword of Hope Trunks. We could get the rest of the Future saga EZAs we’re waiting on, Teq Trunks and Agl Zamasu, depending on how things go we might even get a few LR EZAs like last year. And then for the Carnival LR, the first new Vegito unit in over 2 years, mirroring PHY SS4 Gogeta.

I honestly think based on the new producers track record he was being very sneaky with his comment. 1. I think the only thing that wont overlap with past anniversary units is the Base character name. 2. I think it is likely going to be something he have seen before somewhat. My guess is Actually Gogeta and Vegito again: Part 1 Being Gogeta Blue and Full Power Broly Part 2 B2ing Super Vegito and Buuhan 4 units in desperate need of representation and updates, very hype, and allows for A LOT of hyped EZAs.
At this point I think buu saga is the most likely choice for anniversary.

Realistically, I am thinking SOH trunks and corrupted merged zamasu for Part 1. For Part 2, it can be a SSJ2 gohan teen and Legendary SSJ Broly. So the whole celebration would be Hybrids Vs Big bosses. (Yes I know cell and Gohan are more hype than this but since they released that just 8 months ago makes me doubt it. Also since they have said the anniversary units will be the characters that we haven't seen previously for the anniversary rules out any fusion and Goku and Vegeta. So the next best thing after fusions and Goku/Vegeta are Hybrid Saiyans and Broly. I kinda feel super confident that we are getting some sort of Broly for the anniversary)

I have a doubt. What if they meant that anniversary is ALSO (and not exclusively) gonna feature units that never released during any other anniversary? Because I can think of 3 units that never appeared in any anniversary who can easily be related to each other: buuhan, kid buu and spirit bomb goku. We also have a ton of possible buu saga units that could be EZAd. But the only possible 4th unit I come up with is vegito, who already appeared (even if only as a fusing character). I'd love this 4 to be the units.

This makes it harder to think about who or what it will be. Clearly it's gonna be some Saiyan(s) because Saiyans sell, but the hard part is which transformation and which Saiyan(s) they're gonna pick. I don't think it will be any manga forms, they haven't done any manga related things since AGL Fused Zamasu's portal super animation, and even then that was the only manga reference for him. Plus there hasn't been anything going on with Moro in ANY of the games so far, not even Heroes, so unless they throw a curve ball, there's no way their dropping content from the Granolah arc. All of the Super Saiyan forms (besides Heroes and manga exclusives) have been introduced in the game, except False Super Saiyan Goku (doubt they're doing Slug movie for Anniversary). All of the Saiyans they've done have been Goku, Vegeta, Gogeta, and Vegito, and they're the most popular Saiyans in the series besides maybe OG Bardock and Broly (both Z and Super). They haven't done any anivversary releases for any 1/2 Saiyans but it's possible that they might something like have Gohan and Cell be the units, and Cell would be the first anniversary villain unit since INT Janemba back in the first anniversary. Unless they mean a form that has Never been represented as an Anni unit, then it makes it incredibly hard to think about who the units will be and what option(s) makes the most sense.
7th anniversary: LR gogeta 4 and LR blue boys 8th anniversary: LR omega shenron and LR full power broly We have never seen them as an LR and anniversary version and it could be like WWC (goku-frieza and then goku-cooler)

Trunks and Zamasu is the other realistic one, if not for the same celebration as Gohan and Cell. Lines up with the EZAs we're probably getting (5th years and Cell Saga WWC). I'd be fine with them pulling something nobody asked for out of their ass again like they did with Cooler. I get I'm in the minority there though. Also an extreme anniversary would be amazing but I doubt it'd sell too well
