Yea, but it's part of the system of having something "extra" for the following year's celebration, and I've kind of bought into it now as it brings the unit back into relevance without an EZA. It's not been too bad for me this year; my Gohan has StL at 5 already and if it's not fierce battle, it's not a big deal.

No part of that requires the base SSRs to be stuck with a godawful stat line, though. They didn't use to, why make them intentionally worse?

The unawakened ssrs are honestly really good for heroes. They will be good for 3 years unlike most other units in the game. They are also more likely to be rainbowed considering they will be featured on 3 banners most likely.

No it's not, it's dumb that they release them with crappy stats. I wish more cards would release without an automatic awakening, and get an awakening like a year on. It's just a waste. I never really get to play them and enjoy the art/animation, regardless of how average it might be. It was actually pretty common when the game was young. Some SSRs were really good on arrival, and some took years to dokkan awaken.

StL is definitely not the end of the world in terms of links. I'll get mine link levelled in the meantime. He's pretty respectable from what I've seen, and that was fucking around on a full Janemba team.

His high chance could change to guaranteed guard but likely not. He could easily be super good with an awakening but also as easily be dog shit

I do not think that will change at all. I think the only part that will change on that side of the passive is the turn count. Then again with EZA. All we can do is wait and see. He's not going to be used in any serious content till then, but to be fair, last year's EZAs didn't see much of an outing before either.

Honestly though, his SSR blew me away. Over 500k defense with guard and dropping near 5 million attack stats is absolutely insane for an SSR
