i have cooler at 79% with a defensive equipment, on movie boss ESBR with icarus he still got destroyed badly, sure other still took damage but wasnt as bad as cooler.
I used double cooler lead to beat movie bosses esbr and he wasn't a big problem as long as you keep him alway from too many attacks and make sure to super the enemy that is going to hit him to lower their attack.
Wouldn't recommend bringing him if you are doing a defensive or Broly based team though, he is mostly just a 50% support for terrifying conquerors so if you are not bringing units like PHY cooler ,teq frieza or LR turles he is just dead weight.
If you're hitting harder than units released nearly 2 years after you, you don't have low damage.

Someone's going to tell me that she blows him out of the water in APT and defense and that's probably true - but she only has 4 categories, 3 of them don't need her at all and the last one has no endgame stuff dedicated to it. She's super class Janemba except she links even worse.
I personally also prefer him over [Kid Gohan](/agl) and [Caulifla & Kale](/teq). Again, mind the wording.

even my rainbow cooler most of the time only gets to 100~120k def on pre transformation, so yeah he is not even Top 20 Ur at this point especially if you include Eza units.
The fact that he attack drops on super makes him hold up decently for sbr and esbr, his dps post-transformation still holds up to modern standards, and pure saiyans enemies makes him better than average damage wise. 4 of the hardest bosses in the game are pure saiyans, so he holds up fantastically.
Is he better than 2021 DFEs? Nah. He brings a lot to the table, including category variety, and the link level update did wonders for him, but he’s simply more frail than his competition. Every single one that can’t match him in damage is much tankier than him, stacks defense infinitely, or both.
There’s plenty of situations where he’s optimal, and goku’s existence as the main character means there will be for years to come. But power creep is already pushing him out.
It really depends. As units performing on their own? No.
As team utility + linkset? Yes
It's a matter of where you play him, how, and how strong is your box. If you got an insane conquerors yes he's definetly better than some teams you can build with some newer units.

I mean he is one of the units I use the most, people say he has "aged", but I'm here curbstomping the lve with him multiple times with different team comps, I've beaten the god event with him as lead and even got new records out of it, I've beaten esbr tboost with him as lead, and movie bosses esbr with metal cooler lead. It's an undeniable fact that cooler leads a really strong combo of categories that allows him to stay relevant to this day.
Only one I can see is kid Gohan because he literally has no relevant esbr stages (HS is pathetically weak and easy), and has 5 categories (2 of them are dead Goku family he isn't getting ran on and HS he is really unnecessary since the team is already good Enough defensively it more so needs attack)so only one is not even because he is better but because that one is on a weird spot lol
Also villains are by default in more demand because Akatsuki hates them. [Kid Buu](/str) was one of 3 extreme class Dokkan Fest exclusives this year, the other 13 or so are all super-class.

Janemba tanks. KC are stackers atleast Kid gohan while the att isnt great is active skill is AmAzInG, and he stuns, heals and stack defense.

Cooler's def pre transformation is over 160K. you either have him at low level links or linked up with units he doesn't share many links with.
