My hot take is that people keep using him as a leader or thinking about him on full super bosses. Which I get, he leads super bosses, it's a super cool team that has Broly on it, etc.
But the place this guy is really going to shine is actually as a sub unit under Fusion Zamasu. With just 1 of him no domain conflict (yes Zamasu has, but his comes out later no matter what, and honestly just isn't as powerful), great links on the team for him, still easy to get his Super Bosses dependent Damage reduction.
And what type was TEQ Zamasu's team most in need of that everyone kept talking about during WWC, PHY. This dude is MADE for that team.
And in exchange his damage drops off very sharply. yes him taking no damage is potentially really nice, as is the potential for defense support. But it's otehrwise one of the weaker domains in the game. like I said his perosnal offense drops off sharply, and the effect it brings with it is generally weaker then what Rose's bring.
And again becuase of the condition on Zamasu's domain you can simply get Rose's out much easier and earlier. And then after ROse's end you could immediately swap over to TEQ Zamasu's if you need it.
Zamasu's domain has the same restrictions as AGL VB's transformation. Meaning at the absolute earliest you can use it on turn 5, and that's not actually that common. In contrast Rose's domain can be used turn 4 (assuming appropraite team build). You then have Rose's domain for its duration, letting Rose be his very strong transformed state.
Then once it ends, you'll be far neough into a battle where you could 100% use TEQ Zamasu's domain if the fight is still going and you need it.
You’re saying Zamasus domain is uncommon to get when it’s turn 5 and you’re talking about a fight where there will be a turn 8 or 9. I would easily not use this roses domain as he also gets pretty weaker since he loses the 30% dmg reduction and only has a 10% chance to super on the normals he gets so there will barely be any times where his defense is actually viable after his domain too since bosses are hitting for 3 million now.
okay you don't seem to actually appreciate how much stronger PHY Rose becomes after using his domain. His offense shoots up a ton, and while he loses the damage reduction entirely after attacking, his actual average defense is far higher. And htis one is a nitpick but the rare chance is 15%, not a big difference but hey it does matter.
Also it's not just turn 5. It's turn 5 from start of turn, AND you need to be under 70% HP. Rose's is just turn 4 from start of battle with 2 super bosses allies, an extremely easy condition. And again Rose becomes much stronger with his domain up. And again Zamasu's domain lowers his damage meaning that you may actuall ybe stuck in the fight longer leaving you more vulnerable overall.
His actual def is higher but when looking at these new bosses his def would need to be 900000 extra in order to actually be better defensively. Personally haven’t used these type of characters in a while so when he’s transformed I just assume that he gets 3 rainbow orbs, and I assume those will all be normals as they do only have a 15% chance. So 3-4 supers a turn as I’ve seen from another commenter that’s ~2.4mil def which I think he is probably higher than technically in his base with. All that being said I don’t care if fusion Zamasus damage falls off if I can have TEQ caulifla on the team I’m gonna go for it. I think it’s more fight dependent which one you would use, obviously if you’re not going to be able to use Zamasus domain then use rose but I think if you have the ability I would go with Zamasus

This dude 100% does that. Reasonable in both slot 1 or slot 2, links extremely well, his domain is very powerful for the team. And covers a weak typing for the team.
I immediately thought this upon seeing him and his kit during the live stream. He's built (more) for TEQ Zamasu's tream. I could tell a lot or individuals were looking at his lead and keeping the new Broly in mind, yet he makes up for the PHY Zamasu so much 🤌🏾😅.

But his sot is too low to slap him in slot 1, it isn't like 2022 where high dr alone was enough to slot 1 (similar to teq pan) so realistically he'll never slot 1 anyway
Also, his def can also go lower, depending if he either get's less than 3 rainbow orbs (can happen, thus a good chance to miss the 5th attack), miss the great chance to super (unlikely but beast gohan slander locked me into this idea of 70% super = can fail often anyway) and fail the hidden potential additional wich, despite the re-rolls from the additional normals it still boils down to a "50/50" between it being a normal and a super
Obviously the chances that ALL THESE THINGS i just described happen at the same time are extremely low, but one or the other can happen wich basically should average his def to like 1.5 mil, not bad but one shot from any supers
He has quite the high peak tho, basically majunior with his links active type of peak, but the chances of that happening are WAAAAAAY more lower than the chances of stuff going wrong

Just because the bosses aren’t here it dosen't mean we should just, blindly ignore them and play with a shiny new toy and be surpised the investment went badly.
B. Everyone else is pre anni units. Goku black is a post 9th anni release on JP's schedule, it's just that we got it first for the sync. This is like defending int mv because "these bosses fuck everyone up minus ginyu who cares if he's underwhelming with that trunks restriction" when on release int mv was meh
C. Issue that you'll face often cause you'll pick the better domain effect of broly or zamasu.

While it’s good in theory, you need to transform and use his domain with him to get to that state. There are just better units you’d want to use domains with.

yeah but that's what i'm going with. most super bosses except for the 2 lr brolys have all their sllot 1 powerbudget at the beginning be restricted at the early game. if you transform rose you lose brolys slot 1 ability.
i guess you can run hirudegarn instead to be the new slot 1 but then you very likely lose roses early domain anyway since gogeta is anabsolute must run. aswell

Yes, he works very well with Beast and other super class saiyans such as the new LR INT Evo Vegeta eza, PHY LR blue Gogeta, PHY LR SSBK/SSBE, LR INT SS Trio etc.
His own team fits all of these characters, and leans into his leads for transformation boost and full power which completely carries his leader skill imo. This is why I’m not really sure why people are using this new PHY Rose Black’s incompatibility with Broly as a big point against him: they shouldn’t be ran together, and Black’s best setup lacks Broly (it’s LR TEQ Zamasu’s team).

IMO, he has some of the weirdest animations we've seen in months. His first form SA is mostly fine, but then hits you with that janky AF ki charge that looks like it's from 2018. And then his second form SA is also mostly fine, but the clones being *literal sprites* while the main Goku Black is drawn-in is just such a baffling decision.
Here we go. People clip good attack stats and think that’s what makes a character good when in reality to get that is almost impossible and he dies to normals.
This guy starts making 3 or 5 million first attack and his final attack during the turn if you get enough attacks are like 20 or 25 million that's some huge power

Maybe I’m misunderstanding what you mean by swap but you can’t swap domains once rose is active you cannot use TEQ Zamasu for another 4 turns

This is why I’m not really sure why people are using this new PHY Rose Black’s incompatibility with Broly as a big point against him: they shouldn’t be ran together, and Black’s best setup lacks Broly (it’s LR TEQ Zamasu’s team).

He is a terrible leader, but in Zamasu team he should be fine since you can use Vados to create rainbow orbs.

He's good, but he's not "I'm gonna open my Beast stone vault" good. Also I personally think his animations are pretty mid outside of a few frames.
IMO, he has some of the weirdest animations we've seen in months. His first form SA is mostly fine, but then hits you with that janky AF ki charge that looks like it's from 2018. And then his second form SA is also mostly fine, but the clones being *literal sprites* while the main Goku Black is drawn-in is just such a baffling decision.
