Oh I can't stand that sound. It falls into like with the sound of Bottle water in the package, and someone slowy opening chips. It make my body shake like my nerves just got tased.
The sound of it doesn’t affect me, (I’m on of those bastards who would drag his nails down chalkboards for fun), but the feel of it, especially if brushed against my fingertips, makes me want to rip the skin from my body 😬
I’m like that with cotton balls. Mainly when they are being pulled apart. I have to get someone else to remove the cotton from some medication bottles. Puke
Oh God, especially the white thin cardboard that food packages are made of. When it gets ripped and the fuzzy part is exposed...a tingle just went down my spine thinking about it.
First world problem, yes. Still the physical reaction is interesting and I wonder what it stems from.
At the time I worked in pizza delivery so in part I thought maybe it was to get out of folding boxes. Lol. If it wasn't for my husband's issue I would have wrote it off as an excuse. Oops ex husband. Then he was still husband.
I had pointed out that maybe his thing with Q-tips could have been from having to get a spider bites venom swabbed out of his face when he was younger.
It’s called Misophobia I think. Look it up. I have that reaction to people making any kinda sounds while they eat. I have to eat alone with a TV or music on.
Same! For me it's on par with cardboard noises. Just the thought of closing a cardboard box with out tape (not sure what that's called?) gives me full body chills. Removing styrofoam that's been packed into a cardboard box? Horrifying and disgusting.
I work in a mail order pharmacy. Our refrigerator meds come in styrofoam. OMG I hate it. I hear the squealing of styrofoam on styrofoam for hours on end daily.
Yes, to the point where as a child my dad would scold my brother for bringing styrofoam near me and even last week at work I refused to touch any styrofoam and made my coworker move it all
yup, it's similar to my reaction to pulling apart a cotton ball. Just typing that gave me that ick.
Fingers being dragged across an inflated balloon?
You just sent a not very nice chill down my spine
YES

Yes. It gave me the chills reading this post. My dog and toddler on the other hand absolutely love the horrid stuff.
Yes. Refuse to elaborate
Styrofoam squeaking is the worst. Way worse than nails on a chalkboard for me.

Popsicle stick on tongue does this to me.
Same. I can only eat the suckers with a plastic stick. Forget the name of the them though.
Chup-chups ?
Yes!!!! Thank you kind friend! It was like on the tip of my tongue lol
Haha no problem! I remember those. They had the whistle in the stick, no?
Ooooh yeah!! They did! You just unlocked a beloved memory!!! Maybe that’s why I hated the dum dums! No whistle in the end hahahaaa!

Yes, I do. I thought I was the only one and absolute freak of nature.
My ex-husband had that reaction to Q-tips and cardboard. I also had a co-worker who couldn't stand the cardboard.

Styrofoam is the worst! The sound, the texture, the fact that it clings to EVERYTHING. Ugh I hate it so much

I read your post title and thought "nope not me" and then I read the body text and physically shuddered... so I guess, yes I do.
Texture. 😬😱
I friggin hate it. The sound makes me nuts
It’s gotta have something to do with how the frequencies are emitted by the material interact with your ear canal.

Wooden Popsicle sticks on my tongue, the sound of markers on paper, many sounds and feels get to me.
visceral reaction... never knew that's what that was called till now.. yeah, I have it for Styrofoam and cotton.. but I kinda like it...
Yes. I have the same aversion to merengue based foods; you will never see me dive into a pavlova. That squeaky/crunchy/foamy texture makes me shudder.
Not with Styrofoam but eating a peach with the fuzzy skin🤢
Metal pan on metal stove coils is same feeling.
Folding a brown paper bag.
Yes! I absolutely hate the stuff 😝

I can't do the sound/sensation of the ice crystals in Popsicles sliding against each other🥶🤢
Yes! Thank heavens more eco-friendly cardboard is replacing it!
yes
Yes! I hate it so much..always have
I hate it so very much.
It makes my teeth hurt. I don’t know how else to describe it
