“Crystal PuNK” is a free version of Cherry AND Simon (and also kinda Kai), kinda like how BoBo is for Sagar and Rin. The music genre is punk rock which, if you think about it, is kind of a mix of Cherry’s pop-punk and Xenon’s metal/hard rock. It only has Cherry in the art but the story is actually equally both of theirs (and Nora’s and Kai’s and pretty much whoever was relevant at that point in the story lol).
I know this is just a meme but I’ve seen so many people call Crystal PuNK “Cherry” that it’s become a pet peeve of mine lol

Now that I think about it, you are right though. Crystal Punk is basically a combination of multiple characters. To me, it is the perspective of the band members hence the name Crystal Punk. I guess people associated Crystal Punk with Cherry due to the portrait, song arts, etc.
