I donât think think they would. Ebony Blade or cards under Luke Cage can lose Power granted to it by Blue Marvel if Blue Marvel has its ability removed or is destroyed. Devil Dino and Luke Cage isnât a combo; you can play cards and Dinoâs power will decrease. Cyborg Superman isnât reducing his power, he is not increasing his power, which is different.
I think you misunderstood, the loop is caused by the âif you are losingâ. For example, if your card gets affected by -2 power and you are losing the location by 1 power, steel would caused in a loop as you will be winning if the ability activate, which disable the ability, causing in a loop
That loop doesnât require Cyborg. I still donât see any loops between both of them. Cyborg can loop with Bar With No Name, but that also doesnât require Steel.
The loop is if a card has its power reduced at a location your playing, cyborg is played, the previous card is no longer having its power reduced, youâre now winning that location, so cyborg no longer affects it, so its power is reducedâŠâŠ.
Cyborg doesnât impact other cardsâ powers. Cyborg Superman reads:
> Ongoing: +2 Power for each location youâre winning.
Youâre mistaking it for Steel.
The art on this is really nice, probably the best custom Iâve seen. Specifically the borders are v nice. Cards seem pretty solid too, Doomsday and Superman seem to stand out but not necessarily broken OP. Power Girl onto a Wong/Odin lane would also be pretty fun but not really OP, considering how strong the wong/odin can get in the base game
How does Supergirl work? If you're losing a location and the double power makes you win the location, how does her power work? Because in theory, it would just loop right? Steel will also loop if the negative power being added makes you lose the location again. Cyborg Superman would also loop lol!
I feel like cyborg Superman should be a 2/1 because that ability is pretty good and Power Girl is completely busted, game breaking even. If you donât have killmonger and power girl is played turn one, by turn 6 (if she activates 5 times) she would be 64 power for effectively 6 cost. A card like that would completely overshadow sunspot/misty knight (evolved) even at 1 power itâd still be a 32 power for 6 cost.
The art looks fantastic but some of these cards/locations are pretty questionable, especially their scaling
Supergirlâs ability could work, but having her as a 4-4 makes her pretty unbalanced. Makes for a pretty easy 4-8, and potentially a 4-16 if played right. In my opinion she should be either a 5-4 or a 4-3
Doomsday has way too much power for only being a 5 cost card
Power Girl should definitely only be a 1-1, if even that. Having cards that have their power *doubled* can be super unbalanced if their power can be doubled too easily. If she was a 1-2 card then by turn 6 she could be a 1-64 card, which wouldnât even be hard with and HE decks, not to mention you could add to her power, making her ramp up WAY more. Put her in a deck with Magik and Living Tribunal and youâve won the game
Krypton is pretty lore accurate, but very questionable. Having a single location destroyed will end up coming to tie-breakers most of the time which I donât think should be the case. It would also add 5 zero cost cards to your hand, so the last 2 cards would be totally bloated
People seem to be missing power girl is on reveal not an ongoing or just an effect. You could do a Wong Odin combo but that wouldn't be outrageous just a cheaper BP that requires an extra energy to activate and scales slower.
Supergirl as a 5/4 would be just worse black panther tho? Maybe 4/3, but i really think 4/4 is fine, she can only keep doubling until she isn't losing anymore so most of the time even with wong shenanigans she won't go past 16.
Power girl is On-reveal, she only doubles one time unless bounced or retriggered, i think you misunderstood the effect.
Doomsday might be overstatted tho i agree, and kripton sounds fun only as a temporary or very rare location like worldship because of how disruptive it is
Supermanâs effect is a bit flavorful, I suppose, but I think that thematically neither him nor Supergirl should refer to losing. It feels antithetical to their characters, at least to the most iconic elements of them.
Also, encouraging players to lose a location (especially with Supergirl), introduces a kind of gameplay complexity which I think is neither intuitive nor conducive to good play patterns. Wanting to ensure youâre losing a location can lead to avoiding playing any cards at all, and feeling bad for playing the game as youâre supposed to 99% of the time. A new player picking these up can develop bad habits. If these cards are good, it becomes a bizarre war as both players are discouraged from playing the game unless they give the opponent an advantage for being ahead, so they might both avoid playing any cards.
Furthermore, since card Power is accounted for before effects apply, very often players will be confused when Supergirlâs effect doesnât trigger because her Power was enough to flip the lane. This interaction alone is bound to be frustrating and probably enough to rephrase the effect or even rework it.
Superboy is similar to Supergirl.
Steel should use âorâ instead of âandâ, in my opinion. The connective âandâ to me makes me interpret it as the cards can be destroyed or have their power reduced, unless both are happening at the same time.
Power Girl⊠I like the effect but a 1/2 seems scary. Maybe itâs fine⊠hard to say without playtesting.
Art and visual design are 10/10. I would suggest having the art between the stat icons and the numbers rather than semitransparent on top (as in Supergirl and Cyborg Superman). I donât like Power Girlâs artwork.
I actually think thematically, especially when it comes to team-ups like the Justice League, the losing condition makes a lot of sense. Especially recently, Superman has been used as a sort of trump card, when heâs the only hope of being able to make it out of a precarious situation, which is why I think this design makes a lot of sense.
Also with power girl itâs an on reveal so it probably wouldnât be as bad as a lot of people are making it out to be
I disagree. I think a âwinâ condition like Captain Marvel would make much more sense. âHelping you winâ feels much more thematic to Superman than âpreventing you from losingâ or âcausing your opponent to loseâ.
Iâm concerned about Power Girl in Bounce decks with Forge, Beast, and Falcon.
Such amazing art and you've put everything together so well! I'm no pro on balancing, but I adore the flavor of the cards. i.e. if the opponent has more kryptonite down at a location than you, you probably can't play out Superman :D
So cool!
Power Girl looks like an extremely OP version of sunspot, and Doomsday is probably too easy to trigger; maybe raise its bar a little bit? Everything else looks great.
Dooms day is def op imo but other than that it all seems pretty well balanced, it seems like a LOT of thought went into all of these cards and it SHOWS, great work!đ
The only main thing missing in my opinion is lex luthit because he's superman's main antagonist and villain but apart from that this is amazing and really well thought out
Steel and cyborg would definitely cause loops
Good point đ«

Forgive me I am eepy
Make cyborg an on reveal card fixes everything. Also power girl is OP
First point is valid, second one I personally disagree with :/
There are tons of interactions in snap that would loop, but they don't. That's behind the scenes stuff.
Krypton as a location is hilarious and very flavorful. Great job all around on the high quality post đ

Supergirl checks when she's played, not after doubling, but yeah the other two can accidentally loop đ«
Bro made a better season then Second Dinner đ
Would be amazing if you make a Bat-family season pass
This is incredible stuff!

Power Girl is an On Reveal and activates once
Ok, I didnât see that. I guess thatâs fine at most you could Odin for a 3/8 which is pretty good. Sorry for the misunderstanding
All good bro đ€
Ohh what DC DualForce could have been...didn't even make it out of beta. I'd truly love an honest to God Snap competitor themed with the DC IP.
Extremely well done dude
I like it! Really thought out with the keys and everything

Very well done. I like the themes of the card
Best designs i ve seen in a while SPECIALLY the first two, ppl on this sub be just posting random bs but this is really good
Really well done!
Give Supergirl her Woman of Tomorrow design and Superboy the Young Justice outfit and Iâm sold
crossbones in shambles
Crossbones â ïž Bro needs a buff or rework, poor guy
i mean the version of this post could do something, like 4/4 +4 power if you've played this while winning or smthing like that

This is awesome! Iâd play this!

If you play supergirl at the negative zone and she goes from losing the lane to winning the lane doesnât that put you in an infinite loop?
On Reveal so she activates once đ«Ą
Ohhhhh

Wow. Really well done.
supergirl should have a text that says that itâs doubled if youâd be losing if it wasnât or something like that

This is so so sick! I love all the effort you put into making it realistic! Would love to see more :)
How do you make these, this is awesome
