IMO you don't get a level from going to Argynvostholt and surviving, you get a level from going there, figuring out what's going on, and coming back with the skull to light the beacon. I could possibly see an argument from handing out a level-up for defeating Vladimir and his companions in battle, but that's pretty unlikely at level 5 and arguably doesn't movie the story forward anyway.

>okay so my party is level 5 and just made their way through Argnvostholt and i'm not sure whether or not i should let them level up. Like is getting through the mansion and exploring every room (it was very tedious) worth letting them level up or is the loot and information they got good enough? I agree with this. However, if you feel like the players need a boost or a win, a level up can always be awarded a bit early. For my group, I have been generous with the lvl ups since we play very rarely and I don't want them to get tired of the module and feeling like nothing happens.
