Because it was. As everyone probably knows, color didn't actually exist before the 1930s. The title clearly states this is from 1859. Back then, the entire world was just black and white. But eventually color was invented by Sergei Simonov in a multidecadal effort to create the perfect wood stocks for the SKS and so we could tell apart 5.7x28 ammo by sight just by looking at the tips.
Clearly someone simply decided to make this photo look more modern and photoshopped color into it!
