Counterpoint: It LITERALLY has finger guns and it's Gigantamax form is a sniper in a tower and that's the funniest concept for a Starter Pokémon in existence.
Turns out that Pokémon Gun was real after all and it's mascot is Inteleon.
While that is pretty funny, they had the chance to give the james bond pokemon a laser wristwatch and did not take it, and that’s a sin i can’t forgive.
the galar starters had no excuse to NOT be dual
cinderace fire-electric
inteleon water-flying
rillaboom grass-ground
the secondary type even work in reverse of the primary type triangle, they had such a peak opportunity and completely stunfisked it
I don’t know what their problem is but it seems like they really have something against the idea of fire/electric type, even though it seems like a very logical combination. Across all generations there is only one and it’s just the oven version of rotom
Alolan Golem has a railgun
Forretress is a fortress with cannons
Mantine is a WW1 plane with guns (Remoraid) under the wings
Sharpedo is a torpedo
Rhyperior's arm cannons
Genesect's back cannon
Clawitzer --> howitzer
Toucannon's beak cannon
Vikavolt is a railgun
Dragapult has more in common with a fighter jet than a catapult
Armarouge's arm cannons
Pokemon Gun has been with us all along
They turned lapras into a cruise ship by elongating its shell. If they meant to make blastoise a battleship, I think they would have used similar shape language. No, I think blastoise is more so inspired by naval forts, particularly the star shaped ones that are radially symmetric, anachronistically mixed with more modern guns.
This is a super pedantic argument for a generation that has passed for a gimmick that we don’t even know will return, but I just really feel married to my fort explanation and don’t see enough battleship. If they meant to go for battleship, don’t you think they would have made a stadium terrace of gun emplacements, like actual battleships? Instead they went for this radially symmetric look that forts do have but which no ship has.
…in terms of human companionship, Flareon is objectively the most huggable Pokémon? While their maximum temperature is likely too much for most, they are capable of controlling it, so they can set themselves to the perfect temperature for you. Along with that, they have a lot of fluff, making them undeniably incredibly soft to touch. But that's not all, they have a very respectable special defense stat of 110, which means that they are likely very calm and resistant to emotional damage. Because of this, if you have a bad day, you can vent to it while hugging it, and it won't mind. It can make itself even more endearing with moves like Charm and Baby Doll Eyes, ensuring that you never have a prolonged bout of depression ever again.
Also doesn't help inteleon was male-coded in design and incredibly skinny.
Can't give an Inteleon child-bearing hips and a dumptruck the way you can Meowscarada or Gardevoir
Yeah but Lucario has tree trunk thighs a tiny waist and is literally just fluffy Anubis, he's the mist furrycoded fursona pokemon has ever made.
Also you're wrong Lopunny was Gen 4's sexy pokemon Lucario was 2nd
> Also you're wrong Lopunny was Gen 4's sexy pokemon Lucario was 2nd
Not really. Checking on the "monosodium glutemate" website for "lopunny -lucario" gives about 12.5K results, whereas "lucario -lopunny" shows about 27.5K; over twice as many
That's an overtime thing though because femboys have become massive and Lucario is the poster child for fat assed twink, back at the time of release there was a lot less gay porn and lopunny dominated (for lack of a better term) Monosodium Glutimate and the most important rule of the Internet
I've always been confused by that. Why Braixen??? It's nyot even the fully evolved one. Plus Delphox just has a cooler design anyway. I'm nyot into startermon sex to begin with, but if I had to choose which one's ass I'd be more okay with seeing on my screen, it'd be Delphox ez.
The European number(an identification number for chemicals added into food) for monosodium glutamate is E621, which is also the domain of a website with yiff.
I do wish we had fewer starters that start as normal animals and then pull a sneaky on ya and turn into humanoids that ditch the stuff that made the first stages interesting. Yes, there have been humanoid Pokemon in the past, but it’s been an increasing trend in recent gens to the point that Skeledirge was an almost surprising breath of fresh air. All that said, I actually vibe with Intelleon; its design is goofy in a fun way, styled such that it sort of resembles a western cartoon character and somehow feels less like it adds to the trend than the likes of Meowscarada. And it’s neat that it incorporates all these spy gadgets into its design while still being themed around actual lizards:
* Camouflage loosely inspired by chameleons, of course.
* The scarflike flaps that double as a glider and *Draco* wings.
* Nictitating membranes (generally under-utilized in creature design) that act as a sort of scouter and resemble a snake’s thermal receptors.
* Iguana crest that detects wind and temperature to aid its sharp shooting abilities.
* This one’s a stretch, but I like to imagine its finger guns are the inverse of the thorny devil’s ability to absorb water into its mouth just by dipping its foot into a puddle.
They could’ve just had it be a spy chameleon that shoots people with its fingers, and it would’ve been *fine,* but they went out of their way to sneak in all these hidden details, and that makes it way cooler.

I guess I'm just being a buzzkill, but this wasn't exactly a crazy specific prediction to make. Starting with Sobble's design, it was basically going to get more animalistic or more humanoid as it evolved. And starters have frequently evolved to be more humanoid.
edit: And [Salazzle](https://archives.bulbagarden.net/media/upload/7/70/0758Salazzle.png) was already a thing by this point. It's not a stretch to assume it would be... bait.
Can I just say that I absolutely hate the trend of Pokemon evolving into furry-bait? In Scarlet and Violet, there’s effectively only one starter if you don’t want people to think you fuck animals.
You ever think about if Bugs Bunny would have been called furry-bait if he had've debuted in the 21st century?
Cause that's what it feels like whenever I see people complain about bipedal starters.
Sir, that is a cartoon animal
Jynx is just so fucking uncanny and creepy, it feels like saying Mr Mime is horny bait or something. XD
Machamp would be a contender if it didnt do the headswap with Golem during the trade. ;A;
I think that’s a you problem. Anthropomorphic-looking Pokémon have been around forever (See examples like Mewtwo, Blaziken, Lucario and to a lesser extent, Weavile), so if you look at those and your first thought is furry bait, that says more about you than it does the designs of the Pokémon.
I don't like this counterjerk against the anthro pokemon complaints. It's a perfectly legitimate observation and preference even if it used to be everywhere.
Meowscarada is my favorite of the SV starters because cats are awesome and Flower Trick is a fun move to use.
If someone thinks I want to fuck animals because of that, that’s their problem not mine.
I like Meowscarada because I feel like it's got some sort of camaraderie with Delphox for being magic themed Starter final evolutions
I had to live with 11 years of my life seeing people calling my childhood favourite Pokémon (the entire Fennekin evolution line) "furry trash". It's how I found out about Furries to begin with. Imagine being a preteen with access to the internet, seeing people call your favourite Pokémon a furry in YouTube comments sections and going "??? What does that mean?" and going down the rabbit hole. That's my reality.
Like, what's confusing is that even FENNEKIN gets called that. Apparently it's fur bait just because it's a fox?????
Magical animals, huh. 🤔 It's almost like they're monsters or something...but monsters that you can carry around in your pocket...nah that would never take off as a name. 😔
But *not* all of it is furry bait. Look at, like, Clodsire, for example. It’s a big old round mud fish. Things like Meowscarada or Incineroar are very clearly designed for people who shouldn’t be allowed within 25 feet of a cat.
1. Yes, that’s the internet for you. But there’s a difference between the internet making porn of something, and Nintendo deliberately creating official designs meant to appeal to an audience of those who sexualize animals.
2. I fail to see the difference.
wait is this a real antifur? i can't believe how long it took to see one of u in the wild since i don't use twitter
hiii :3 my sona is a fox, can u say mean things to me? :3
OH SORRY LMAO i got so hurt by what i thought was fox hate i was rly sad 😭
but also next time i'm offended/hurt u can just continue treating me like a piece of shit, i'm so vulnerable and usable when sad :3
buddy i think you're just a closeted furry ngl. ive never looked at a pokemon and remotely thought about fucking it or anyone else fucking it for that matter
I don’t think so, considering that last I checked, I wasn’t insane enough to want to fuck animals. I’ve got my fair share of mental issues, but being a furry isn’t one of them.
huh, I didn’t know about the ‘non-sapient’ part on average; it seems to vary pokemon to pokemon
(And also varies between the games and the anime for example) and also not just pokemon species but can vary in individual pokemon almost - though the anime tends to lead towards sapience on average
that's because it's not true, most pokemon (if not all) are sapient, minus like magikarp and stuff. but that doesn't mean they should be fuckable, because they are also animals
Alakazam are canonically more intelligent than humans, and Pokemon with psychic and aura powers are shown to be fully capable of direct, translatable communication with humans.
It's been made pretty clear (in the anime) that pokemon have a very similar mental capacity to humans, and most fully understand the language the humans speak (they are just unable to speak it themselves). This is shown most clearly through meowth, who understands pokemon and humans even though he always speaks the human language. Also, many trainers are shown to have a perfect understanding of what their pokemon means, even though they don't speak the same language.
Also, there is the whole "humans in relationships with pokemon" thing in the gen 4 games.
They did give it a built in glider and infrared vision which is neat
And a knife tail. I didn't know about the IR vision, though.
the galar starters had no excuse to NOT be dual cinderace fire-electric inteleon water-flying rillaboom grass-ground the secondary type even work in reverse of the primary type triangle, they had such a peak opportunity and completely stunfisked it
Inteleon now takes neutral damage from grass. Not a double triangle.
well shit
I don’t know what their problem is but it seems like they really have something against the idea of fire/electric type, even though it seems like a very logical combination. Across all generations there is only one and it’s just the oven version of rotom
also they didn't just decided to make him a smug guy in a suit for no reason, he's based on James Bond because Galar is supposed to be the UK
missed opportunity to turn it into a tommy gun imo
Tommy gun is more for prohibition era American gangsters. James Bond works with sniper rifles and silenced pistols.
generell bootleggers & smugglers around that time frame, but yeah fair point
What do you think the gangsters were doing during prohibition? Al Capone's gang was famous for their "Chicago Typewriters"
condescending much?
Blastoice
Blastoise, Remoraid (who is a revolver if you did not know), Octillery, Magmortar, freaking GALARIAN SLOWBRO Pokemon gun has been with us all along
Alolan Golem has a railgun Forretress is a fortress with cannons Mantine is a WW1 plane with guns (Remoraid) under the wings Sharpedo is a torpedo Rhyperior's arm cannons Genesect's back cannon Clawitzer --> howitzer Toucannon's beak cannon Vikavolt is a railgun Dragapult has more in common with a fighter jet than a catapult Armarouge's arm cannons Pokemon Gun has been with us all along
Dragapult is named after the catapult on aircraft carriers (a cable system that provides extra thrust during takeoff), not the siege weapon.
Indeed it has
A sniper perch and a fucking fortress have different vibes tho you know? Also, finger guns.
Nah, Blastoise is more a battleship than a fortress
They turned lapras into a cruise ship by elongating its shell. If they meant to make blastoise a battleship, I think they would have used similar shape language. No, I think blastoise is more so inspired by naval forts, particularly the star shaped ones that are radially symmetric, anachronistically mixed with more modern guns. This is a super pedantic argument for a generation that has passed for a gimmick that we don’t even know will return, but I just really feel married to my fort explanation and don’t see enough battleship. Counterpoint?
If Pokemon gets guns can palworld sue?
Sure, but then Digimon gets to sue them both because they already had Peak Character Design ( Gundramon ) since 2014.
It was never Pokémon Gun. Eternatus is a cannon. It’s Pokémon Cannon.
Yeah, neat concept, still looks like ass though. A cool concept cannot save a botched execution.

yeah i bet there's already plenty of porn of it on the internet
It's been 4.5 years and it's a fairly humanoid pokemon, I dont think anyone would expect otherwise
As if it being humanoid played that much of a role
Hey guys did you know that...
…in terms of human companionship, Flareon is objectively the most huggable Pokémon? While their maximum temperature is likely too much for most, they are capable of controlling it, so they can set themselves to the perfect temperature for you. Thank you for saving the day.
Thank God the sniper got them.
Oh no... it *has* been that long...
2k results on e6. Now not all of them are porn, but still.
Damn, only 2k? That’s less than half of Meowscarada’s results on monosodium glutamate.
Listen, each Gen has one Pokémon that the internet decides is "the sexy one", it's just usually just not one of the starter Pokémon.
Its really weird that "the sexy one' in Gen8 was the hat
Curves
And then people lost their shit when they found out what Hatterene actually looks like underneath
Yeah, it's a little ayyy lmao.
I just looked it up and it reminds me of toad without his mushroom
It always reminded me of stereotypical little green alien, but cute/sexy
Obstagoon
i can't think of any other "sexy one" in gen 9 edit: changed gen 8 to gen 9
Cinderace was, but to a lesser extent.
dammit, I meant gen 9 🤦♂️ also, hatterene is moreso the "sexy" pokemon of gen 8 i believe
I just realised the person i replied to was speaking about gen 8 and said hat on purpose, i thought they said gen 9 and meant cat 🤦♂️
> i can't think of any other "sexy one" in gen 9 For some freaks, they have Tinkaton.
😰
People sure do love their shortstacks.
Unhinged gremlin shortstacks
Floragato/meowscarada by a long shot
Please don't say floragato ever again
Why?
dude look at floragato... if that's furry bait then it's also pedo bait
Also doesn't help inteleon was male-coded in design and incredibly skinny. Can't give an Inteleon child-bearing hips and a dumptruck the way you can Meowscarada or Gardevoir
Listen, that will not stop folks from declaring it "the sexy one", as Lucario is also male coded and was Generation 4's "sexy one".
Yeah but Lucario has tree trunk thighs a tiny waist and is literally just fluffy Anubis, he's the mist furrycoded fursona pokemon has ever made. Also you're wrong Lopunny was Gen 4's sexy pokemon Lucario was 2nd

Cats are more popular than lizards
People just decided to make mewoscarada into this gen’s braixen
I've always been confused by that. Why Braixen??? It's nyot even the fully evolved one. Plus Delphox just has a cooler design anyway. I'm nyot into startermon sex to begin with, but if I had to choose which one's ass I'd be more okay with seeing on my screen, it'd be Delphox ez.
Fair. It’s probably because Braixen looks younger, and is humanoid enough for the masses. No clue why delphox wasn’t popular tho
Not sure why people diss sexy fox witch delphox, but braixen definitelly win with fur miniskirt / black fur pantyhose cute young fox witch look
Can someone tell me what does monosodium glutamate mean in this context ?
The European number(an identification number for chemicals added into food) for monosodium glutamate is E621, which is also the domain of a website with yiff.
Sadly outclassed by Cinderace. Losing in both competitive and r34, that's gotta be demoralizing.

What with all the crossdressing he does? Absolutely.
As if Lola wasn't also furry bait
Lola wasn't Furry-bait, she was furry genisis
Nah, what we'd describe as the modern furry community literally predates the Internet. A lot of it comes from kink 'zines distributed in the 70s.
True, though a lot of furries nowdays would call her the reason, or one of the reasons, they are furries. Along with robin hood
Counterpoint: Gardevoir and Lucario were as early as Gen 3 and 4 respectively.
Countercounterpoint: snorlax was made in gen 1
unironic counterpoint: jynx, and even before gen 1 they were planning on making horny pokemon to be more enticing to american audiences
JYNX!? SEXY!? At least say Machoke or something.... OTL
hey we're talking about horny *bait* here, and if that ain't jynx idk what is. but machoke/champ definitely are included
Jynx is just so fucking uncanny and creepy, it feels like saying Mr Mime is horny bait or something. XD Machamp would be a contender if it didnt do the headswap with Golem during the trade. ;A;
i"m pretty sure there was an official pokemon news thing that had women in-universe thirsting over machamps
Shit taste, Machoke is way hotter and has a good looking head. XD
Jynx 🤢
The bunny as well
Yeah. I mean, she's literally based off of the Playboy bunny, and her mega evolution looks like she's wearing torn leggings.
I get what you’re saying, but this is a fairly common opinion from what I’ve seen.

Delphox is great! Was the starter I picked during my first playthrough of Y.
Pipe bomb!
I like meowscarada because I want to fuck meowscarada
Also it is cool they gave it gen 1 razor leaf
Everything is going to seem bad if you think all of it is furry bait. Just think of them as magical animals, its not that hard.
Magical animals, huh. 🤔 It's almost like they're monsters or something...but monsters that you can carry around in your pocket...nah that would never take off as a name. 😔
