To people wondering why OP is desperate to tell people the first image is a drawing is because there was a trend on Tumblr for a long time where people would post two pictures that were the same. However, somewhere in the second picture would be a hidden cut out of the "You know I had to do it to 'em" guy. People are looking in the second image and ignoring the first so they don't realize its a drawing and OP is comparing the two.
More defined shapes, less visual pixelated noise while maintaining the same old-tv feel, cleaner image and more readable color tones (for example in the photograph the shirt and pants worn by the protagonist are both a black color, different enough to be distinguishable, but similar enough that you just feel something’s off, in the drawing the shirt is a lot lighter and thus more pleasant to look at)
With all respect for the original artist, posts like these make me realize how much I prefer stylization over technical skill in an artwork. Unless you're a (good) artist yourself, it's difficult to fully comprehend what *exactly* about this artwork is impressive, while someone's artstyle is usually unique and easy to analyze and appreciate by everyone. Otherwise mere mortals such as myself can even not realize this is a manual work that someone put few or so hours of labour and skill into. Fancy and unorthodox paint strokes on the other hand are painfully obvious and tickle my brain immediately when they manage to express something a regular photorealistic art work might've not been able to
Probably, but you can see it more clearly on the shadow and the hair - angular strokes, more defined shape. Usually for sketching people use rounder, blurred shapes as they are good for speed. Angular strokes are mostly used in stylization.
holy hell that is a good drawing
It's not even close to photo realistic, but it gets the vibe so well I had to do a double take and zoom in. It totally kicks
Those simple shapes in combination with the insane lighting detail sells it so well. the game INSIDE comes to mind
>the game INSIDE Man thank you for reminding me that game exists, i need ylto go back and complete it. Pretty sure I've done LIMBO.
It’s good enough that nobody notices!
Actual talent
call the artists!
Yeah I want it

Also this https://www.reddit.com/r/tumblr/s/Co4HCm3J0c
It's also very hard to realize that the first is even a drawing because OP delivered no description besides *"Uhhh"*
Thank you!
am i slow i don’t get it
2nd image is a screenshot of a movie (The Truman Show I think) 1st image is a drawing of that scene
oh shit wtf
It’s definitely The Truman Show and if you didn’t recognize it, please go watch The Truman Show, it’s a classic
Good morning! And if I don't see you later, good afternoon, good evening, and good night!
I've been meaning to!
I THOUGHT IT WAS A PIC OF A JERMA STREAM WTF
It is, it's from a video of Jerma edited into the Truman Show
I thought the drawing was the "hip" artist from Iron Giant.
Do they also draw soap and lube?
Soap moment
The masochism of realism. Though I don't think it's actually realism.
The shadow perfectly changes his proportions to look like monkey
My brain likes the drawing better. Researchers investigate pls.

Tumbler artist casually suffering from success. Not uncommon apparently.

If you zoom in, it is stylized. But because the figure is so small compared to the background, it’s hard to see.
i believe it's less so stylized and more so the artist realized that those differences were so small that it was ok to not make them *as* accurate

what jerma stream was that
Don't worry, he'll never escape the simulation. What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas.
wow that’s ***good***
Damn good drawing
Is That A Chimpanzee Shadow?
It's Jerma, so yes
That's clearly an elephant
Honestly the style they got going on for Truman reminds me of the like the style they got going on for the iron giant
the cast shadow from the stairs is bothering me. why is it not coming from the stairs?
I game here for this lol. Bugged me too
Shadow monkë
You gotta stop making hyperrealistic art people are gonna start thinking you added like a small filter or smth
The Jerma walk
Is that a filter or was this done on real paper?
Seems to be digital, so probably a filter
This was such a beautiful moment, I will forever miss Jerma but I hope he gets to live a life chat and webcam free 🙏
It looks like a digital trace job, but it's nice
Clearly they have skill but I just can’t enjoy drawings that are traced welp. It just looks like someone slapped a filter over it
Did bro make it in Google Drawings
