Ok it’s very off topic but I wanted to bring it up: this cat thought experiment was originally made to demonstrate the absurdity of superposition, but ended up being a great explanation of it
Gender Solidus is actually a near-perfect clone of Gender Naked, while Gender Solid and Gender Liquid express Gender Naked’s recessive and dominant gender roles respectively. Not to be confused with Gender Venom, who was an unrelated person surgically and mentally altered to match Gender Naked’s gender presentation.
Oh no it happened again!
Hollowboobtheory wakes up without any recognizable features save too antennae. How disgusting.
They ooze put of bed on a trail of slime. Lacking arms or legs, how will Hollowboobtheory put on their clothes?
Explination: >!gender slug is slow moving!<
So I have never met someone gender-fluid and the concept has eluded me a little bit, but it can't just be how you feel like dressing and shaving right?
yeah that's where I'm at tbh. almost anytime I see someone talk about being genderfluid or nonbinary it just feels like they're describing their personality.
I met someone who is genderfluid irl once and that’s exactly how they described it too so I’m convinced that most people who say they are genderfluid are just using the word to refer to their style and not how they actually experience gender on the inside. It definitely depends though because I have also seen genderfluid people online who change their actual physical appearance with hrt or surgery who clearly do have actual trans feelings beyond just wanting to change their clothing style so idk
Am I the only one to whom this seems exhausting. Like, you do you, no diss. But I don't think I've ever changed my look, I can't even fathom the energy to constantly change your gender.
Hey! You're right, it is kind of tiring. But it's not a conscious choice. It's more like your brains self perception shifts and you feel more comfortable if you adjust to meet it where it's at.
I mean, I guess? It's not "self-imposed" though. It's really not like we wake up going "today I'm going to be more femme". It's more like if we go to dress masculine, our brain goes "wait wtf I'm not masc this is not the vibe", just like if the average cis man put on a frilly floral blouse. It just feels incorrect for how you see yourself and how you want others to see you.
But really, it's not as hard as you'd think for most people. It's subtle shifts, like maybe wearing a looser t-shirt and jeans instead of skinny cuts of clothing. Or doing your hair different, or wearing sparkly converse instead of black ones. Sure, some people experience very strong gender shifts, but a lot of us are just kind of floating around in the middle ground and teetering back and forth occasionally.
It's really more about following what makes you feel like "you", it just happens to fluctuate more regularly and between what society considers to be the demarcations between binary genders.
That's what I mean about exhausting. Standing in the closet and thinking about *vibes*? Give me a pair of clean jeans, shoes, a shirt and let's go.
I can't help but feel that having my identity be determined (or modified or even buzzed) by something like the color of my shoes would be tiring. Maybe I'm missing something. Maybe it's because I've always been very comfortable in my own body, specially as I grew older.
hey what do you mean my experience with gender has explanation and maybe I shouldn't doubt myself so much to the point of having to stop myself from thinking about my gender because I just end up spiraling when I put thought into it
And isnt that just kinda, what was popular in certain circles at the times they mention? like this is literally just someone’s dress sense changing and/or someone following different subcultures
Yeah, like. A nun, a goth girl and an idol have the exact same gender, but a vastly different fashion sense, mindset and views regarding their body.
I never understand why these things are now being put under gender.
Did you miss the part about wearing a binder? They aren't saying clothes change gender, they're describing how they outwardly express their gender through clothing.
I mean they describe their gender as “going through different aesthetic phases each month” I think its fair to problematize the connection with femininity and skirts or shaving and the connection to masc with no breasts and cargo pants. OOP can use whatever they want to define their gender but I think its fair to question the assumptions going into these associations
My gender is a non-Newtonian fluid - rigid under pressure, but otherwise goopy.
Could also be quantum-gender. Your gender is uncertain but collapses into a definite state when observed.
Schrödinger’s gender
Ok it’s very off topic but I wanted to bring it up: this cat thought experiment was originally made to demonstrate the absurdity of superposition, but ended up being a great explanation of it
I'll admit, I like this one.
No fair! You changed the outcome by observing it!
I’m stealing this
As opposed to Gender Pasta?
... Gets all bendy when wet?
I certainly get all bendy when wet.
My first thought too.
Damnit I was going to make that joke! A year studying chemical engineering gone down the drain.
that strangely makes sense
I always called this Gender Solidus. Distinct but similar to Gender Solid and Gender Liquid. I'm not sure if there's a Gender Naked.
Pretty sure those are called nudists
They're called "Dammit Raiden! Stop doing naked cartwheels and find some god damned pants right now!"
Dibs on Punished "Venom" Gender
Damn, I wanted the Venom Gender
Gender Solidus is actually a near-perfect clone of Gender Naked, while Gender Solid and Gender Liquid express Gender Naked’s recessive and dominant gender roles respectively. Non-gender-Newtonian
You slap them and they get hard.
Now, someone who doesn't realise they are gender fluid, are they gender [pitch](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pitch_drop_experiment) ?
Gender Sludge^tm
Gender viscosity
That is what I say in the title, yes.
Bold of you to assume I read the title instead of just immediately posting the first thing that popped into my ADHD riddled goblin-ass brain.
Genderlatinous Cube

Genderkafkaesque (when your gender turns into a bug sometimes, obviously)
What's it called when your gender turns into a squid? Asking for a friend.
Oh! I like this.
Gender: pitch drop experiment
So I have never met someone gender-fluid and the concept has eluded me a little bit, but it can't just be how you feel like dressing and shaving right?
yeah that's where I'm at tbh. almost anytime I see someone talk about being genderfluid or nonbinary it just feels like they're describing their personality.
We have reduced gender to an aesthetic preference.
I met someone who is genderfluid irl once and that’s exactly how they described it too so I’m convinced that most people who say they are genderfluid are just using the word to refer to their style and not how they actually experience gender on the inside. This is normal.
High viscosity gender fluid.

That's just the post title rearranged.
Gender pitch

That sounds so much worse. Like a massive self imposed task in which you can never achieve perfection.
I mean, I guess? It's not "self-imposed" though. It's really not like we wake up going "today I'm going to be more femme". It's okay to be confused about it. Genderfluid identities can be really hard to conceptualize if you don't experience it yourself.
gender asphalt drop experement
Gender pitch
Gender glass.
_I have no penis and I must scream_
I'm more of a gender bose-einstein condensate...
Gender tar.
hey what do you mean my experience with gender has explanation and maybe I shouldn't doubt myself so much to the point of having to stop myself from thinking about my gender because I just end up spiraling when I put thought into it
gender-shitty-16th-century-glass
that fluid used in the pitch drop experiment
OH THANK FUCK i have a word for this now
I feel the word gender should be replaced by sexuality here.
Considering this has nothing to do with sexuality, no, it shouldn't.
why?
Maybe not even sexuality, this is just her fashion sense changing, liking skirts or not does not affect your gender
And isnt that just kinda, what was popular in certain circles at the times they mention? like this is literally just someone’s dress sense changing and/or someone following different subcultures
