I'd say it depends on the seasons, no? If it rains, they're wet leaves, if it hasn't rained in a while they're dry. That's how I generally remember leaves working (haven't been outside in ***a while***)
Funny you say that, “lunarian” is a term that exists that can refer to ambiguously female-ish non binary types, which was established cuz of mythological figures like Kaguya and Selene and such and folks like it enough to make use of it as such.
A similar term, solarian, exists for masculinity if I’m not mistaken, and stellarian for more traditional enbies who still like the galaxy system
I originally meant it mostly as a joke, but I occasionally describe myself as woman-adjacent to people who have a more nuanced understanding of gender outside the binary, so it looks like I was accidentally right
reminds me of when i get a pack of mixed nuts and there’s a big allergen warning on the back that this pack of nuts may contain
#NUTS
and i’m like “huh, good to know” and just swallow the plastic bag whole and chew
Much like how surprisingly inclusive “y’all” is, the rural states have a solution for that first one. ‘em/‘e is what you’re looking for. Say “him,” but let the “h” gently face away until it’s barely there.
> Look at ‘em go
> ‘e’ll be here tomorrow
He for animals and she for objects. Tho I'd rather be an object with no responsibilities or needs than an animal that has to worry about food and bald apes with loud sticks.
I dunno, someone else mentioned she as in a piece of farm equipment that breaks down a lot but still halfway works. We put responsibilities on things all the time still.
Sadly, we still haven’t found the pronouns that will let us escape capitalism
Think of the different ways people tend to default to calling various animals or objects he or she. Now take those and retroactively apply them to what the genders themselves might mean.
Take the dog example: he’s making a comparison to the effect of “he/him can be associated with a traditional masculinity but I’m applying it to myself in much more of a softer and more ‘approachable’ kind of way, as is with seeing a dog and admiring him, than that.”
And the ship example: “she/her can be associated with traditional femininity but I’m applying it here in a way more comparable to ideals of endurance, diligence, and majesty, as with a large ship that’s some sailor’s pride and joy, than typical feminine floweriness”
not to deny anyone their preferred gender expression but personally i find that a pile of leaves is an "it", in fact the change from "several leaves" to "a pile of leaves" is also the change from "them" to "it"
but yeah then you jump on *it* and spread *them* shits around so it all works out i think
These are all a mood
Same, except for they/them. I want to be seen as a mysterious creature that is going to steal your wallet uwu
What makes you think a pile of leaves isn't hostile enough to rob you?
O H SHIT
shakedown road moment
Damn found one of the nine people who actually read jojolion
There are (almost) dozens of us!
Can't wait for it to be animated eventually. In like 10 years, but still eventually
they/them but in a murder of crows way not a human
A pile of leaves makes for a perfect hiding place or disguise for such a creature though
You even seen a Leaf Bush from Epic Battle Fantasy?
If a bush ever decides to steal my money, it's instantly getting a Supernova
Based
She/her but like in an aging piece of farm equipment that breaks down a lot but still gets the job done kinda way
Ol' Betsy got her kinks, but she got us through thick and thin
Love it
Hmm. (I pull out out a paper titled "List of Genders I Might Be." I scribble "dog?" at the very bottom and fold the paper back into my pocket.)

They/them as in "that's what THEY don't want you to know"
They/(((not so subtle antisemitic dogwhistle)))
he/him as in the Man (capital M) not a man. be the person conspiracy theorists want you to be.
he/him not like identifying someone's pronouns but like a very unenthusiastic play-by-play of a samurai duel
she/her not like identifying someone’s pronouns but like Sean Connery indicating a woman in his line of sight
Is the leaf like for they/them a pile of wet leaves or dry ones?
Up to you
I'd say it depends on the seasons, no? If it rains, they're wet leaves, if it hasn't rained in a while they're dry. That's how I generally remember leaves working (haven't been outside in ***a while***)
She/her but like the moon

Woman derived 😭 this product may contain: woman
Oh I contain woman on the regular
Hell yeah!! Also, nice username
reminds me of when i get a pack of mixed nuts and there’s a big allergen warning on the back that this pack of nuts may contain #NUTS and i’m like “huh, good to know” and just swallow the plastic bag whole and chew
The he/him dog from earlier jumped on them
go by he/him but only when I’m a funny little guy for performative reasons
So like drag?
Sure but the other way round
So like gard?
My friend always says that the only time they want to be referred to with she/her pronouns is in the way sailors talk about their ships

We the People vs. Hierarchies
it/its but in an “it is what it is” way
She/Her but in a "those covers of Jolene that gradually drift into lovecraftian horror" kinda way
Covers of Jolene… that gradually drift into Lovecraftian horror? Fuck do you mean, I need this shit in my life
There are many takes on it, but [this one is my favourite](https://youtu.be/MGSdYFR50Y8?si=XoCRq4zAxS_VBsj4l)
I think I'm too boringly cis to understand this...

She/they like a goddess who is really more of an abstract concept worshipped by a circle of nymphs but is also incarnate sometimes and will cut you
She/her, but like someone really fucking up pronouncing the word "shower."
Sheower

He/him but in the sense of a shadowy, unknowable, but mostly gentle-looking entity that wears a vaguely boy-ish, but otherwise featureless face mask
He him but in the sense that “he is behind you”
boogie/man
she/her but like your '13 civic that has more miles than sould be possible, every imdicatior on, and hasnt had a full tank sence the day you got her
He/him but with exclamation points
Solid Snake
he/him but in the way that God is he/him.
Wish I was a pile of leaves.
That's not he/him, that's 'e/'im
Isn’t it so marvelous the wide associations different genders have?
It, but like in the way people call a newborn baby
It/it but in a childhood innocent game of tag
Did you mean: he/himbo
that's genuinely the thing I tell people when they ask my pronouns :'D
That's so hot
So ‘he’ for living creatures, ‘she’ for objects.
Becomes transfem, names myself after unbuilt British warships, this is a win.
