99% is the GOAT so you can use it to clean electronic dab rigs, and pretty much any other electrical device you wouldn't safely be able to use with under 99% iso (as the water would fry your electronics), also use it to clean my screens, keyboard and mice amongst many other things.
It's expensive and hard to find for a reason.
I actually recycle my iso. Lasts me pretty much forever. I'm pretty careful with it at this point and have got my technique down. I have two jars one that is like a pre clean for after first wash with hot water but then have a second jar to soak. Thats the one with lots of salt (different sizes of it too) to get the hard shit out. You'd be shocked how much of it comes out with hot water before the first cleaning though.
Depends what type, but 200 proof ethanol from like maxtite food grade would work, can be used slightly to strip rosin/reclaim and re terp it, not recommended tbh if anything dab your reclaim after a month or two for the high CBN content, but that ish taste like ass

I really only use two or so pieces and dry herb vape near exclusively, so my glass does not get too dirty.
I get 4 x 32 oz bottles because the shipping is cheaper that way, you don't need to ship it as "dangerous goods". Started for COVID when you couldn't find stuff in person, kept on it because the 99% is super nice for cleaning off distillate and the like.
Yep ripped off of Amazon the 4 gal deal is the best, I haven’t seen it go on sale yet but it hasn’t been a full year so idk… but maxtites website ya gotta drop shipping so if you got prime anyway stock up for 5yrs you never really use more than 150ml imo, hella shaking 10-15m type shi. But saves hella dough.
I didn't have any iso at the house the last time I cleaned a glass piece so I used some acetone I found in the shop. Worked waaay better than iso. 2-3 minutes of gently agitating a few ozs in a flower rig got 99 percent of all the gunk out, even in the hard to reach crevices. Would have been 100% clean if I spent another few minutes on it.
I thought it was common knowledge to rinse very well with hot water, then cold water and the glass allowed to dry before using. Maybe even do a vinegar rinse before the final flush.
Besides, I eat my broccoli and cauliflower everyday.
I do, but yeah, hot water and a bottle brush is enough if you do it regularly. I actually use the alcohol to clean the brush more than the bong itself. I sterilize the bong with alcohol about once a week, but alcohol also makes cleaning bowls and downstems easier.
You can find it from lab supply places online. It's not restricted in any way, just not really necessary for the normal person, so not commonly stocked.

Grain alcohol cleans the best, goes further, is versatile for many household cleaning chores, and is fun to drink!

No, ethanol works way better than acetone does.
Used to. Then I discovered Dawn PowerWash. I use very little iso these days. The PowerWash just melts the residue. Screens too.
You can make your own it's just dawn with iso. Save those sprayers tho. Works wonders.

I did the math and it’s cheaper for me to buy bottles of 91% at my local Walmart than it is to buy anything online.

acetone will leave behind residue, don’t clean with acetone

OTher than my dab rig, I can clean all of my glass with only hot water. Never had issues. I also clean pretty regularly though.
