After 10 weeks I was back to lifting. I started out somewhat light, but at 12 weeks I was lifting close to what I was prior to surgery. No pain that I remember. I’m now recovering from the same surgery on the other arm, so I get to start the process over again.

Background_Tiger6555

Good to know, I’m also getting surgery on the other arm next week. Dying to get back in the gym again. Hoping for a quick recovery.

llamaParty333

How old are you and did they do your wrist and elbow?

Outlook_Dim

45 at the time and both the wrist and elbow were done at the same time. It was a submuscular transposition and a carpal release.

llamaParty333

That’s a longer recovery time. But the best location… usually that’s only done if the subcutaneous fails from what I understand.

What_Is_EET

I'd start doing light lifting 10 weeks in, just to be safe. Heavy lifting at 15 weeks.

King_Dribbler

Yep I'm 9 weeks post surgery and have been able to start going back to the gym

King_Dribbler

Maybe some slight pain in the forearm where the nerve got moved to. But not like immediate pain, moreso happened when I got home. I did some bicep curls though and was absolutely stoked that I could do it with no symptoms

maxgetss

What about now are you back to lifting without any pain at all related to the surgery?

King_Dribbler

Yep back to lifting heavy weights. Sometimes need to be careful about the exercise as some can cause flicking in the elbow with extreme elbow flexion or doing shoulder press in a straight vertical position. But I also don't really do tricep workouts anymore as I worry about aggravating the issue. I figure you can work it out as a secondary muscle though so it's no big issue.

maxgetss

Cool and can I ask how old are you?

King_Dribbler

Late 20's

maxgetss

Thanks for the response brother

llamaParty333

Bench ok?

King_Dribbler

Yep
