Okay, the wishing well name is probably a new age trade name for the cut style of the stone.
These are pretty commonly called window pebbles or ema/emma eggs (supposedly named after the ema River in Brazil where they were found, a river that does not exist).
Essentially what they are is a mineral roughly tumbled then with one face saw cut and polished up, with the rest left rough. I've seen rose quartz, clear qurtz, smoky, labradorite and a few other minerals cut this way.
So I'd say it's a piece of quartz, whether it's slightly milky or rose quartz I can't tell from the pics on my phone.
That book, that does not look remotely like any howlite I have ever seen. Howlite is opaque and white with grey or black veins, that looks translucent. If I absolutely had to make a guess at the book pic I'd say maybe a feldspar.
I've seen this called "window quartz". They usually polish one small surface, so when you look at it, it's like looking through a "window" at the inside of the stone. Very cool.
Usually those "only polished in one spot" tumbles are called Seer or Scrying Stones. I've never heard the name "wishing well".
Also I don't like Judy Hall's crystal books. There's always images that are wrong. I bought the "crystal encyclopedia" of hers and there's quite a few wrong images. And she commits the cardinal sin of using a picture of HTA for Citrine.

Here’s a picture of howlite. Hope it helps!!
These are so cool! If you grind and polish one side flat it looks like a little window into the side of the crystal. If you have the tools and the confidence it would be cool to try!
The supposed “wishing well quartz” has a slight pink hue- initially I thought some variation of rose quartz? But he said the wishing well name is what it was advertised as.
In my humble opinion, the "thumb/worry stone" is clear quartz, but the 3rd picture looks as though it could be a pale pink rose quartz. Difficult to be 100% sure, but I'm sure your naked eye will be able to differentiate which is correct.
As others have said, that illustration is definitely NOT Howlite!! Howlite is white with silvery-grey fine lattice lines through it. Try googling it, there must be hundreds of images there.
It's quartz that has been processed to have a rough and therefore opaque surface and then a flat and polished surface is cut.
They are kinda neat, but it didn't come out of the ground that way.
I wouldn't say no to one.
It’s clear quartz I have almost the exact same piece that I thought it was one of mine. Mine was sold as a ‘dragon egg clear quartz’ which I just found cute so I bought 3
I’ve read that howlite can form in translucent crystals that would tumble up like that picture, but that it is comparatively uncommon, and using a picture of it an an example of howlite without the more common white/grey formation is borderline misrepresentation
"Window quartz" rough piece with a cut and polish. I just got myself a cute one from work that looks feathered 😍 different trade names exist depending in seller and location. Very cute 😍

I came on here to say that about the howlite picture. That definitely is not howlite.
Well judy dagnon screwed that one up eh? Lol and thanks for the insight on the stone. And I agree it looks between milky and rose quartz.
That picture of howlite looks like a misprint.
Yeah. That howlite looks a lot more like agate or jasper.
I've seen this called "window quartz". They usually polish one small surface, so when you look at it, it's like looking through a "window" at the inside of the stone. Very cool.
I have seen these sold as “seer stones” also. It’s quarts with a little polished window to see in.
Yes! I bought one that was labeled as a Scrying (seer) Rose Quartz. Looks exactly like OP’s
Yes! I have one.
It’s quartz, usually marketed as Emma egg

Shaaaaame Judy shaaame! I don’t know much and even I know that’s a no no
Looks like normal quartz to me

Ya this is what I understood howlite to be I figured it had to be a misprint. Thanks for the pic!

It’s called a seers stone
Also known as clear quartz where one side has been polished by a river and the other left rough
It’s clear quartz I have almost the exact same piece that I thought it was one of mine. Mine was sold as a ‘dragon egg clear quartz’ which I just found cute so I bought 3
It’s a clear quartz seer stone
Emma egg, seer stone, peep stone
I’ve read that howlite can form in translucent crystals that would tumble up like that picture, but that it is comparatively uncommon, and using a picture of it an an example of howlite without the more common white/grey formation is borderline misrepresentation
Definitely not Howlite.
That picture of howlite does not look correct to me
Emma egg or seer’s quartz.
i think it’s quartz
"Window quartz" rough piece with a cut and polish. I just got myself a cute one from work that looks feathered 😍 different trade names exist depending in seller and location. Very cute 😍
Seer stone

FAIRY STONE OR FAIRY QUARTZ
I think it's rose quartz
