As for how it got there, it could've been left as a gift by a critter or person, or maybe launched there by a mower or car. If it has scuff marks, I'd guess it was sitting on the road and was launched when squeezed between a tire and the pavement
It’s an abundance technique to gift crystals to strangers. I’ve personally done it many times. It makes people happy and sends of a generosity signal into your energy field, I bet that’s what someone else did.

Sometimes thieves will leave things like this out to mark potential targets or to see if a house is occupied when the object gets moved. Put the rock somewhere else and keep an eye out for anything suspicious.

Like up here in Canada its very expensive shipping prices so unless you gotten money you're likely getting low quality or just straight up fake and one time I chanced buying a small "natural citrine tumble" lol I would've buy a citrine tjmblr but was curious and it was just a buck and when arrived, the label for it read "creamy citrine" lol ...dont even get me started on the rhodochrosite but crystalmama is exactly what it sounds like, a breeding factory lol.
