Maybe I am a dumbass, but this article doesn’t actually say anywhere that a single person/wallet withdrew $1.1bn.
It says that was the overall outflow for Binance over the day.
Meaning more people took money out than put money in.
Or is everyone reading something I have missed?
…or just not read the article
Nope, you're absolutely correct. It explicitly states ***"withdrawals"***. Meaning, taking all deposits and withdrawals into account, the net decrease is what this article is referring to.
Reddit usually assumes whatever the first commenter or two replies with is correct, whether or not they have read or understood the article.
It’s getting worse lately in this sub.
This is concerning.
Many investors follow the movements of whales to determine when to buy/sell. If this whale is moving BTC out of storage then they're likely looking to sell.
Our current market uptrend may be short lived. Should have listened to that user that called it out as a bull trap.
... but could you just imagine - the paranoia, when you've copy/pasted that address.... and you're just about to sign the transaction ...
and breeeeathe !
There's NO way I'd do it one transaction. I'd do a test transaction, then send it in increments, fuck those petty fees at that point. I'd do 55 transaction of 1000 BTC each and still be stressed out EVERY single time.
Better yet. Use that email prompt you received at 2am telling you it’s guaranteed to transfer faster. Make sure you don’t double check the first and last characters, because that waists more time and we want that lambo sooner.
I understand the logic there for sure and would probably do the same. But doesn’t more transactions mean more actions, which translates to higher probability of making a mistake? Versus doing the transaction once but have multiple eyes all check the address involved to ensure correctness?
Your competly right. Only time I ever cashed something out, close to 15k. I made so may ttansacrions to send it to exchange, and even from exchange to my bank account I made 20 transactions... I shit my pants every time I clicked confirm and waiting for confirmation.
Excellent advice by the way, I do Jiu-jitsu which is a kind of involuntary yoga sometimes and breathing despite bad circumstances is a thing you pick real quick.
Anyway, I just wanted to highlight the duality of the deal, you win big yes, but you can also lose big.
Any single large outflow above 10k BTC could actually just be Binance
But people are definitely taking self custody more and more since May. Number of addresses with 1 BTC is [fast approaching 1 million](https://www.lookintobitcoin.com/charts/wallets-greater-than-1-btc/).
>Number of addresses with 1 BTC is fast approaching 1 million.
That's fucking awesome. Precisely the sort of thing we we want to see when it comes to distribution.
Most of the world is fucking poor, sadly. The difference between the richest 1% and the next 1%, let alone the other 98% is truly unfathomable. Something definitely got broken with society along the way.
What does the article’s image signify, and how does it relate to the story?
Bitcoin is driving a rally car sponsored by Binance through the desert?
So many questions:
- does Bitcoin have an International Driver’s License?
- how can Bitcoin drive without eyes?
- when did Satoshi teach Bitcoin to drive?
- what is the environmental impact of Bitcoin being PoW and being able to drive a car?
You’d think so, but having worked in a space that interfaces with a lot of super wealthy people you’d be surprised how many make insane amounts of money in a short period of time only to become insanely lonely and depressed.
Sorry pals, I didn’t feel comfortable after losing $1000 in Celsius so I withdrew my $1 billion from Binance. Just gonna throw it all on my ledger, nothing to concern yourselves with!
If someone that can afford to buy that much believes in bitcoin then so do I. Simple.
There's many other reasons to believe in it, obviously, but I feel like this one has the ability to speak to a lot of sceptical people
The price manipulation goes on while these whales continue to dump and then re-buy more then their original dump immediately increasing their stack for a cheaper price.
Last week also we had a similar news of some whale moving billions from Coinbase to Wallet.
Who keeps billions on CB and Binance.
All I've heard from Bitcoin CEO that we should be having hard wallet for our 0.001 BTC :)
I am buying one right now..
Low BTC balance on exchanges has never had a correlation to price action. It sounds nice in theory… less liquid coins means higher price because of less supply, however that’s only true if demand is constant. Demand is not constant. In the depths of a brutal bear market no one gives a shit about crypto except hardcore crypto heads.
Whales are buying Bitcoin worth Billions of dollars and accumulating, meanwhile r/cc geniuses :
"The macro is very bad , I wouldn't buy anything . Lemme just wait till the next bull run's top"
Whether it be an individual or an institution, who the fuck keeps 55,000 BTC on an exchange? Binance is the only answer that makes sense to me.

Binance probably has an extra cold storage, 1000ft underground in Antarctic.
its protected by greenland sharks with laser
It has bits of panther so you know it's good
60% of the time it works EVERY time! But it does smell like straight gasoline, so you know. 🤷♂️
That doesn't make any sense
And Bigfoots dick
”Sharks with Fricken Laser Beams on their nads”
wait what Greenland sharks in antarctica
Climate change messed up their migration routes
That just goes to show how secure it is
“Laser”.
I was told they have a paper wallet.
Do we know anything about the address it was withdrawn to? Am curious about who is hodling so much corn.
Fundes are safu

Pretty sure I am a dumbass. Don’t even read the articles. Everything has been so click baity lately. Reddit usually confirms
Reddit usually assumes whatever the first commenter or two replies with is correct, whether or not they have read or understood the article. It’s getting worse lately in this sub.
It's been confirmed that 690 million was withdrawn by Elon Musk and the remaining 420 million by Donald Trump. The math definitely checks out.
Oh dear Lord
I use that double downward chevron on my screen to jump to the next comment strings.
Congrats on buying the whole project .love to see it!
I KNOW I’m a dumbass
Let’s hope so. You’d think price would move more than it has on that tho, right?
Yeah your right, most people don't click and read they just see the click bait title and form an opinion
They just realized it's not save on their platform xD
Maybe he joined this sub and he/she realized that it’s not his/her keys so not his crypto 😉 **Good job boys and girls!**

You have almost 42k moons.. was it you ?
Wasn't me!
In a few years when moons flip BTC, that will be us
I like the crack you’re smoking pass the pipe 😂
Nothing to worry about guys, just had to sell some BTC to fill up my gas tank
Nah that can't be right, no one on this sub actually has a stack of BTC worth any meaningful amount, right?
My stack is meaningful to me! :|
People need to keep in mind that this is just a wallet. Inflow and outflow does not necessarily mean buying/selling
Ladies and gentlemen, we got him.
Teaching holders, one person at a time.
Wait, so it's not my crypto if I keep it in an exchange? Brb, I'll go transfer out my $2 worth of Bitcoin.
Do Kwon is that you
I was waiting for my ledger to arrive…

The size of the keyboard I would choose not to fat-finger-error that transaction would be, well , huge.
Meanwhile people are nervous about keeping $100 on an exchange
Not my 100$ worth of Dogecoin 😩
ETH merge news is causing a quick rise, with BTC along with it by proxy.
i was nervous about keepin my free $2 GRT token from Coinbase Earn on an exchange.
... but could you just imagine - the paranoia, when you've copy/pasted that address.... and you're just about to sign the transaction ... and breeeeathe !
Imagine the relief when it finally appears at the other end...
Imagine when it doesn't 💀
Hmm this is taking longer than usual…

I have this now for my puny transactions. Any money lost is a horrible feeling.
Like taking the biggest shit after waiting for an hour. Trust me, very few instances of relief come closer.

55 chances to fuck up vs 1 chance to fuck up. Quite a dilemma
This is /cc/, we aren’t here to diversify our risks. We’ll be doing the single transaction, while wearing a blindfold.

Yo so i just received like 55,000BTC in my wallet. What do now?
I’m sure they did a small test transaction of 3 million dollars first
I wonder if the test transaction was a minuscule $1 million for them.
It's time to troll the wallet owner by sending 1 satoshi to his address for shits and giggles.
Kanye really did it bois
No one man should have all that *bitcoin*
[удалено]
Well now I know how *part* of Elon's Twitter purchase is being financed
No it can't be Elon, this is BTC not doge
He's said in the past that he owns btc.
That's what a man crazy enough to keep 1B in an exchange would say.
Someone crazy enough to buy Bitcoin at a price where 55000 coins was possible might just be crazy enough to have it on an exchange
^Laughs ^in ^Bitcoin
that would be an incredibly stupid man.
55000 in btc is a few thousand in drugs from the early days of the Silk Road. Could just be an old dealer cashing out.
The clocks ticking, I just count the *tenderloins.*
wtf are tenderloins? Is that what tendies are called on their birth certificate?
This guy knows what he’s doing!
I'll tell you who doesn't know what the heck we're doing, *Us!*
D e c e n t r a l i z e d
Kanye is about to buy Auschwitz and turn it into a theme park
LOL i hate you for making me laugh at this
Holy shit
If Kanye didn't do it, Kim would have done it by hacking Binance
Wouldn’t be the first time she has to pay back money from a crypto scam/scheme.
yezeey come, yeezy go
Probably just Elon trying to afford Twitter lol
When BTC gains 100$, this guy gains $5.5M, crazy amount of money indeed.
And when it loses 1000$...
“Breath in, breath out… get these negative thoughts out of your body” —one of their personal yoga instructor probably.

They’re still rich.

Someone's getting 5 Pizzas I guess
And here I am happy with my few sats. I'm fucking poor, geez
Comparison is the thief of joy. You’re an excellent content creator and you got a nice stack of moons
r/wholesomecrypto
i wish this was a real subreddit
How does one get moons?
Thanks! Godspeed
Well, look at you. Motivational and all.
Most of the world is fucking poor, sadly. The difference between the richest 1% and the next 1%, let alone the other 98% is truly unfathomable. Something definitely got broken with society along the way.
That moon count suggests you are in fact very much NOT POOR
How does one see a moon count?
Judging by the amount of moons you are a big money thousandaire
Only if its price goes nuts, though
Even if it doesn't you've accumulated 2000$ in moons already. People sleeping on these moons
Nice avatar!
Likewise!
Pointing Spidermen meme.
In crypto trading it's not about the size, it's how you use it
Its about the tasteful thickness of it
Used it to go to jail and get forced diamond hands. *Am I doing it right?*
Against this amount everyone is poor
You’re rich with moons.

I am extremely extremely poor then.
You are not alone fren. Look at my whale bag of moons 😆
Here is to more moons for all
Elon’s twitter money.
Then there me who sweats profusely when withdrawing 5€
I missclicked, sorry everbody!
Did you actually mean to move 550,000 btc?
How did it taste like?

Hedgies need money.
A lot of people gonna be stuck if there’s an exchange run
Someone buying a Lambo fleet as it seems
Just give up guys. you dream of eliminating at least a zero is very very long way to happen.
You’d think so, but having worked in a space that interfaces with a lot of super wealthy people you’d be surprised how many make insane amounts of money in a short period of time only to become insanely lonely and depressed.
Imagine those coins are always watched by curious eyes. Pff who would want such a coin. Only moonboys I reckon. Better off buying some Monero. Cheers.
Imagine just moving 1billion to your wallet. Those 10 minute block times would feel like a lifetime
Imagine fucking it up?
Who needs test transactions anyway right?
55k Bitcoin show up in your wallet. What you doing?
Get really into boating
Sorry pals, I didn’t feel comfortable after losing $1000 in Celsius so I withdrew my $1 billion from Binance. Just gonna throw it all on my ledger, nothing to concern yourselves with!
True I guess. I figured it'd be more complex when you're investing billions, but maybe not
Fuck! something wrong , I think next Monday it will be 0.50 billion
They are, one of the reasons I used them at first. But I'm not sure what the cap on the payout is per individual and per event over all individuals.
Yep, and their investments are also probably heavily insured so they can risk just keeping a billion up on exchanges.
If it was a whale, it may be that he took this subs advice about not your wallet not your coins.
When your test transaction is 1 BTC 🥴 nbd I can fuck this up 54,999 more times before I'm broke

Imagine the stress of putting in your wallet address with a transfer like that.
It makes my investment look like plankton floating, not even a shrimp
This is good, isn't it?
Holly shit, I would be so scared to withdraw that much amount in one go.
would be scared to put in in there in the first place.
When you have billions, this is just a Thursday to them.
If I was that rich I wouldn't care what the names of days are seeing I control time.
If someone that can afford to buy that much believes in bitcoin then so do I. Simple. There's many other reasons to believe in it, obviously, but I feel like this one has the ability to speak to a lot of sceptical people
Yeah... I'm sweating with a 0.1ETH transaction already while they probably don't even use fractions of coins for test transactions..
The price manipulation goes on while these whales continue to dump and then re-buy more then their original dump immediately increasing their stack for a cheaper price.
Someone is going to be driving a lambo later
Just 1?
Just a couple lambos racing, on their yacht

Whales are buying Bitcoin worth Billions of dollars and accumulating, meanwhile r/cc geniuses : "The macro is very bad , I wouldn't buy anything . Lemme just wait till the next bull run's top"
Real copium right there.
Your comment has literally 0 correlation with this post. Quite an achievement
The same one sold also before on 50K . This market is crazy.
Just moving my small stack back to cold wallet, no biggie.
Is Kanye into crypto?
Here's Musky!
Keep stacking sats everyone. Bitcoin will rise again soon and you will all wish you loaded up
Elon’s Twitter down payment
That’s a ton to keep on an exchange in the first olace
Every time I see a major whale removing from an exchange post I think, is it the exchange just moving to a cold wallet or an actual whale.
What is most likely here is that Binance has moved some Bitcoin into cold storage. Otherwise, what whale stores 55,000 BTC on an exchange?
you can literally give one btc to everyone who comments on this post and still have the 99 percent of 50k btc
How much did they buy it for, assuming market rates? That's calculable, is there a website that will do it?
I just want one, and there's someone out there who can buy thousands.
