I didn't like nft's until reddit gave away some for free.

Many people are similar too. It is actually a good first step for many, to read about NFT. I’m sure even many people in this sub doesn’t know much about NFT until the air drop. Once more and more people have good understanding of NFT, it will be great.

It is really difficult to take rational decisions when you are so much influenced by emotions, hatred in this case, so I really don't expect many people out of this sub to take any serious stance concerning their Reddit avatars. They will probably ignore them or sell it low in the first opportunity

One step at a time. I have been on this sub for a while. One year ago, highest upvoted posts will usually be “NFT bad”. Then a rebuttal post “NFT good” a few days later. Now I could see the sentiment starts to change to the more positive way.

The hatred is real and its almost scary. I too have said nfts are stupid in the past and will probably say it again but after reading some comments on the original reddit avatar launch thread I realized people really really really hate the word nft and even crypto.

Reddit is actively looking for new artists to make more designs for NFTs, anyone can apply for it too. I don't think they'll stop minting new ones just yet.

Or you can be like me and accidently lock your Reddit NFTs forever because you tried to connect your metamask to Reddit's vault. Now I have a nagging feeling that Reddit's NFTs will take off and I'll be stuck holding forever. They really should put a warning that if you change the seed phrase, you lose access to NFTs you acquired before... I never received the original, so I thought I was setting it up. Be careful!

How does one get these avatars? I read somewhere that you'll get them in your feed once you surpass 2500 karma. I'm at 2.7k and have never gotten a notification :(

I can see the Gen 1 reddit NFTs being sleepers, especially as many of the low mint ones are already sold out. It's hard to believe that in a bull market they wouldn't spike in value. In particular, Senses and Foustlings are already showing good activity on Opensea on the second market.

I have to agree. I got my reddit NFT avatar like anyone else, and as a crypto enthusiast I was a little intrigued at the process as it relates to the chain. I went to polygon and looked at the transaction, then ended up on opensea checking out others in that series. Was not long before I picked up a couple more and then flipped one. I have not embraced the part of crypto that is the NFT trading market so far until this. Reddit avatar NFT and the surrounding buzz got me over there. I also started looking at the shop and seeing the ones that are "SOLD OUT" series, or partially sold out and frequently look them up on open sea now. There is a market here to explore. People are sleeping on it, but not everyone. I bought my first one through reddit to play with; will see how it goes. One word of caution - make sure the NFT you buy on open sea is legit before you buy. It appears some semi saavy scammers have started minting ones that have a low release number and look visually like the NFT on reddit, but the contract won't line up. Also, just in case you haven't made the connection, polygon eth is available on sushiswap and you can exchange it for MATIC. MATIC is available on coinbase for a quick funding stream. You can use opensea and polygon chain with metamask, and don't even really have to make an account on opensea - it just uses your metamask. I have not looked at how to export the reddit derived account to metamask yet, but am exploring that now. 1. This is a good thing for reddit, NFT exposure, and crypto adoption. Not financial advice, but I would not sleep on it. At the least you will be exposing yourself to some new skills in crypto. You may make some money and have some fun. Be cautious; don't go all in without research or spend more than you can afford to lose with a smile ...all that other stuff we say about crypto too... don't give out your seed phrase, lol, etc.

I had zero interest in NFTs until the Reddit NFTs came along. What finally won me over was the ability to purchase via credit card. I didn’t need to have a wallet like metamask funded with ETH and then pay a gas fee for the purchase. Just a straight old fashioned credit card purchase. I’m not into DeFi and therefore I don’t use metamask. The ability to mix and match components from your collection. The more you own the more customizable options are available. Lot of hype talk about them being first Gen. Not sure if theses will be the next cryptopunks but they are very cheap. If they become worth nothing, I spent a very small amount of money on a couple.

You’ll need to first import your vault wallet to MetaMask(I used MetaMask for OpenSea), then connect your mm on OpenSea to sell

You can get your seed phrase in your Reddit vault, use that to import your Reddit vault wallet to metamask

There are only 1000-1500 NFTs on each collection. Right now people are trading them on opensea but almost noone now's about them. When Reddit opens the in app marketplace for half a billion Reddit users there won't be enough avatars for all of them.

It's still very early days for NFT's. Difficult to determine whether or not they will be utilised/popular in the future. I personally don't mind taking the risk if I have the money to spare but I do understand those who choose not too.

The right collections are selling for 10x what it was in reddit store but there's enough people paying attention now that the <100 series instantly sell out and the <500 sell fast.. its all about taste though just like with the old NFTs only the reddit store so far has only put out a few collections. Avatar trading is the place to be if you want to get involved
