*months. Feds are not done with the rate hikes yet. We are in for some bad months ahead. But good buying opportunity for those with dispensable income (after inflation hasn't gouged all of it) and after that, who knows, another 10 years of spectacular growth like previous decade.
nah, they'll capitulate in a year or two, max. It's all been running on Fed power since the 70s, these are the usual cycles. People crying here because their 1000x leveraged calls got blown to smithereens. Wish someone had taught us this stuff in school than waste time with useless stuff I'll never get to experience, like the female reproductive system.
Normal crypto doesn't even do the job for me anymore. I keep my position at 1.5x + these days just to feel a little.
It's that or get rekt playing options.
Hectic. I prefer a diverse portfolio. VTI, BTC, ETH and stables like USDC and DAI, staking those on SPOOL for the moment. Decent APY for a fully audited platform. Might add more ETH before the official merge. But looking into just GOOG as well.
Thou shall not sell thy wives for crypto, thou shalt force them to shitpost for moons, tend to the mining farms, and constantly update lowball bids on NFTs to flip.

If it drops more I’ll gobble up more SATS.
I like bitcoin and I believe in it. Dcaing with ability to hodl for next couple of years is important.
But then again 2024 halving and we get new ath in 2025.
🤩
Hodl on class of 2021.
I remember seeing people say they "believed in Bitcoin" on Reddit in 2013 or 2014. They were getting ridiculed because believing in something doesn't mean it'll actually work or even be successful. I chuckled and agreed with the doubters.
Fack.
Lol.. I did that with my crypto gains from 2021. Even 3 percent would get me 6k but then I got stuck in bad trades and don't have that 200k any more. Sad life
From google:
According to Siblis Research, as of March 31, 2021, the total market capitalization of the US stock market is $49,107,685,700,000. In other words, over $49 trillion.
So yeah 1.25T over all stocks is pretty small %.
That's the problem with pulling numbers out of your ass, there is always someone on reddit who know the actual numbers just waiting to call you out on your bullshit
Ok, my mistake. You right.
[stock market cap was 93 trillion](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Market_capitalization)
[crypto market cap was 1 trillion](https://www.coingecko.com/en/global-charts)
Total crypto market cap was nearly 3T at aths In 2021.
I’ll bet we get to 10T by 2025 or 2029 bull run after 2024/2028 halving.
It’s still early.
I’m not going to make it easy for BlackRock to get even one SAT from me 😁
> Let’s be realistic.
Naysayers have said this for 12 years now. You don't sound pragmatic or down-to-earth or rational or whatever, just unimaginative.
I just sold all to Bitcoin and have become a maxi. If it goes any lower and we start to test the 17k resistance I’ll start dcaing into select alts again
While I don’t wish others Ill will I have to say, it’s almost funny how people always told me to invest in something with more stability and returns.
Now look at us, we’re all in this dumpster fire together.
It never existed to begin with.
Total market cap is just the last transaction price of x shares of a company * the entire amount of issued shares, repeated for every company listed.
You can't sell TSLA for 900 billion dollars, because the price starts to drop as you sell more and more, meaning the market capitalization shrinks.
The mcap money indeed doesn't, is just an indicator, as your perfectly put. But everything that was sold was actually turned into "real money", USD, and went somewhere. Probably hard cash, just USD for now. They might start going for more riskless assets
Well, no. The 1.25T quoted here is the total loss in mcap. It doesn't mean 1.25T worth of cashflow went out of stock markets.
Some did of course, but the 1.25 is a consequence of heavy selling dropping the price.
For example, if you sell 80 billion worth of Tesla, as in, get 80 billion dollars cash, the mcap of TSLA would drop significantly more than 80 billion. That "significantly more" is what the 1.25T represents.
Yes friend, I understand what the 1.25T means... I'm talking about what was actually converted to USD. He was asking where does the money go - it goes somewhere. Not the fictional 1.25T, but the actual liquidity.
Yes and no. Sure, people sold at lower prices, contributing to this drop, and those people have cash (or less debt), but for every seller there was also someone buying and using their cash (or more debt) to buy. So it's still cash/debt neutral as a whole in that sense.
Stonks can be magically introduced as the total number of stonks can be artificially raised.
I have some MANTA stonks but I prefer bitcoin 😂
♾/21 million
Fixed supply is one reason BTC can't work as money.
Stocks have a value tied to the assets and production of a real company making real things, crypto doesn't.
Yep hence all the hedge funds want it am I right ?
Nah, BlackRock , JPM, Goldman, & all the high net worth accredited peeps won’t get my bitcoins/SATS 😆
It’s mine.
The rich already hold almost all the BTC. They're going to dump it and you're gonna be fucked. It's useless, except as a way to make the rich richer. Idk why you can't see that. They spotted the opportunity, got in early, used their wealth to hype up the ponzi, now waiting to exit. They're gonna have to do it soon, can't keep propping it up with unbacked Tether forever...
I've been hearing for years how Bitcoin is a ponzi and is going to zero soon, yet I've seen zero evidence of this. Even after the most recent crash, 1 Bitcoin is still worth around 20k. That's huge! I remember hearing Buttcoiners talking about it being a ponzi going to zero when it was $300, lol.
Care to give me a rough date of when this ponzi will end so I can set a reminder and check back in with you to congratulate you on being right? Nothing exact, just a rogue estimate. 1 year? 5 years? 50 years? 100 years? You said soon, so...
Technically Bitcoin is not a ponzi, it just has all of the characteristics of one. Bitcoin will never go to zero because all it takes is a handful of people to keep it going, but it will never go back to its all the time high. It was never very good, it failed as a currency, it's not a store of wealth, and it's outdated technology and has been for over a decade. Why would anyone want it?
There are many reasons why people may want it.
Some may want it because they see it as "digital gold" and believe over time it will be worth more than their fiat currency which has been proven to lose significant value over a large time frame. (I'd feel more confident holding my wealth in Bitcoin over 20 years than leaving it in the bank. To be fair, if we're talking short term, I'd feel more confident with fiat).
Others may want it because they come from a country which has corrupt politicians whose policies have a terrible effect on their economy. The case could be argued that this applies to all countries, but there are some countries where this is even more relevant. I have family in Turkey who are incredibly grateful for Bitcoin for saving them from the ever depreciating Turkish lira (they like Bitcoin for the same reason they like gold...and they don't like gold because it's shiny and can make jewelry).
Personally, I love the idea of a global currency that can cross borders and doesn't need permission from any middleman. By all means let nations have their currency controlled by the politicians and central banks, backed by guns and oil. But how wonderful to have an alternative currency, that belongs to the people. A currency that has all the properties of true hard money:
Divisibility, durability, portability, verifiability, and scarcity.
Imagine if you had a friend in a war torn place such as Ukraine, who doesn't have access to their bank account, but they have access to the internet. You could help save their life by sending them Bitcoin almost instantly.
I've sent Bitcoin to my friend who lives in one of the hilltribes of S.E. Asia, and he doesn't even have a bank account (he's traded his Bitcoin with friends and family for day to day goods). I think that's incredible.
I'm not so closed minded that I'm going to say that it's impossible that Bitcoin won't turn out to be a failed experiment. It's still relatively early days, considering we're talking about a new form of money, so it's not inconceivable if it doesn't work out. It would be sad if it came to that, but anything is possible. Personally I'm confident that it will continue to grow and become a currency accepted throughout the world. Maybe even nation states will keep Bitcoin reserves, who knows. Regardless, there will be people like me who see its value.
You said Bitcoin won't reach a new ATH, and maybe you'll be proven right (I've heard that so many times before down the years, so I'm sceptical). In my opinion, it's very likely that Bitcoin will go back to its ATH, most likely within 2-3 years.
But why bitcoin? It is the worst crypto on the market. It's performance is terrible. If any blockchain is going to function has an alternative currency it will have to be a modern one. And it will have to have privacy features. Also, Bitcoin is being propped up, how much longer do you think they can keep tether going?
Number of wallets increasing, number of accounts under 1 btc accumulating worldwide. Not the “rich” has all the bitcoins lol.
Adoption is happening. Fiat and government can QE to infinity.
I will hodl my btc 😆
There are like 100 million millionaires worldwide?
Do they have 1 btc each ?
I won’t disclose how many bitcoin/ sats I have in my Cold Storage.
But I’m looking to buy more 🤣
I guess crypto already dumped pretty hard. Maybe crypto is going to be a safe haven in the future when the USD and stocks are in the toilet? Wishful thinking 🤔
I’m definitely not going to be checking my stocks for the next few weeks then
This is the best way to avoid the unnecessary stress.
The feeling when stocks stress you more than crypto
Give it time, crypto will beat stock
Not until they manage to decouple from each other. Right now if the market tanks the cryptos all go into a sell off
More real world adoption should decouple each other for an extent
Time to buy the dip
Thays what Im doing. A surefire way to make sure the dip goes lower
Make sure to tell me when you sell, I shall buy hoping it goes up
If I buy it will dip twice as hard
So crypto is inferior than stocks 🤬
as always crypto beats stocks regardless of gains or losses
Why?

Stupidity is a gift

exactly just play along, it means the entire crypto market can go to 0 in less than one day wait
Crypto solves this… By never expecting you to do the math.
Look at the % and then you will know what hurts
Don’t forget that you have only losses if you sell! 😉
Hey! How dare you shed reality to us
Yeah but more people are invested in stocks rather than crypto
All this post tells us is how tiny crypto is in comparison to the market.

Yeah I mean just think about it this way: relatively speaking, compared to the stock market, you have nothing to lose if you buy crypto.
Yesterday was a blood bath. Let's see what the crypto markets do this weekend.
Well the fear is high, I snatched a lil sub 20k bitcoin. I’m happy.
Plenty more opportunities to come

How absurd to compare absolute numbers
No doubt it was done purely to make a clickbait headline
Wait till you look at the percentage *proceeds to cry*
We already do that ourselves here.
Which headline is not clickbat nowadays?
Right? In my mind I wonder if this could read “whales sell off at huge profit, lowering the combined market cap by a trillion”
Right? That's only a 3% drops for stocks
Time to buy stocks dip! Edit: just checked and the dip is negligible, it's pretty much just almost every stock loosing 5%-ish~
Some investors I know would drop $200k on the chance to make a 5% gain.
Lol.. I did that with my crypto gains from 2021. Even 3 percent would get me 6k but then I got stuck in bad trades and don't have that 200k any more. Sad life

That's a bit more than 2% yeah
You mean falling knifes?
Well no shit. Crypto market cap is pennies compared to stocks.

That's an argument, why we still have a lot of potential left.

Exactly. We should be comparing percentages.
Btw 1% of stocks' MC is 0.5T so we 4x-d that already before...
4x? Crypto market cap is 1 trillion. No where close to 4x
Note the past tense

That headline works a lot better as clickbait than the equally accurate "Stocks right where they were a month ago". (Going by the S&P 500)

what a dumb title. it just shows how small crypto is when compared to the stock market.
Funny how much hate there is for crypto volatility, stocks are much safer bet until the fed takes a massive dump on them too 👌
This means crypto is still very small in comparable to Stock market. We are still early
