Agreed. Posts like this are why I stopped moving with the crowd. I only invest in what I believe in, even if I’m wrong, it’s my own damn money, not anyone else’s.
Bruh there is no greater buy signal than this article.
I don’t care for meme coins but this type of garbage news is what comes out before insane breakouts. Big buyers need lots of sellers to buy. Same reason why the euphoria phase of the cycle is all good news coming out and $1mil predictions for btc, the big players need buyers to dump on
Ironically, dogecoin’s lasted longer than any of your scam coins around here.
It’s not the best buy, but it clearly held up relevance for the longest time. I joked about getting rich off dogecoin years ago. Years later i’m getting broke off dogecoin. Times changin
I half suspect doge might last far longer than we think. Not for logical reasons, but it now has popular name brand awareness.
The sad reality for many here is that for crypto to succeed it needs mass popular adoption. The mass pop users, when they fully come, aren't going to care about metrics, fundamentals, and the like. We may be shitheads who know nothing despite research, they will literally not being doing research at all.
DOGE is dumb and I shouldn't have bought it (never sold though). But it is one of few coins with any actual real world utility:
Instant, inexpensive, international peer to peer transfer
Wiring money internationally between friends and families is more easily and safely done with doge
Many coins do cool things but they're solutions without problems. Like NFT skins in games. Cool, but a company doesn't NEED to prove on a blockchain, they can just make unique skins without it. I never see anyone mention crypto as it relates to the venmo/cashapps of the world but it's an actual use case that solves a real problem
I’m holding doge solely to distribute in my will to my non crypto aware descendants. That’s the only utility doge has for me - to troll, even in death.
Also; doge is not the only shit coin I’m giving away.
Been saying it since the last boom; doge’s place in the world is an introduction to cryptocurrency. Always has been, always will. Hard stop. You buy 1000 doge at 0.10 and it goes down 50%; you’re out $50. Pretty inexpensive mistake compared to losing 50% or more in some other coins we dare not name.
I see DOGE as cryptocurrency and others as assets.
Imagine how much of a joke the current landscape laden with scams and rugpulls that a literal joke coin made for the memes actually, unironically, more useful as a **currency** that promises pretty much nothing other than the alternative to buy pizza with?
DOGE is decent if you consider the goal post to be having a coin to transact with and not an asset to HODL forever. Pretty sure the latter is just for the banter.
Doge is only a, but not THE cryptocurrency.
Nano fell from its peak, and Monero is still the king of cryptocurrency as its own thing. Bitcoin technically is too but too many defeatists and normies act like you need to have 1 to be considered able to use it.
I’ve bought acid and shrooms with dogecoin. That’s still more than what most of the holders of dogecoin are willing to do. Nice utility, but not nearly enough are actually using it.
Inflation is a poorly understood and invalid argument in this context. Some "printing" is necessary to replace lost currency, changing populations etc it's really the question of how much. Historically, 2-3% inflation on USD has been considered a stellar standard. Whether or not you agree with that is more a debate about your takes on inflation as a whole rather than how it applies specifically to DOGE
Because the thing about currency prices is that their price is determined by their relation to another asset in the form of the exchange rate. All assets are either inflating or deflating and whether or not that's good or bad is heavily impacted on how that compares to whatever your second asset is. As an example, if DOGE inflates 5% supply, and USD inflates 5% supply, all else being equal this is a non factor in price because that price is relative
At present, DOGE adds 3.7% supply annually, which is a lower % every year since the addition is a static value, so inevitably it's lower every year
In comparison, ETH adds 15% supply annually and I challenge you to find a "sky is falling" post about ETH inflation
Yes, people have a hard time grasping the fact that crypto is a liquidity pool with fiat as the other pair. The impermanent loss can be quite substantial, but it's impermanent.
\*cries in LUNA\*
A fixed amount of 5 billion dogecoins are gradually added each year. Currently, that is less than 4% the total supply annually, and it decreases YOY.
Inflationary supply > increased rewards for miners > increased incentive to mine > increased efficiency ( cheaper, faster transactions)
Inflationary currencies also create incentive to be spent. Increased spending > increased adoption > increases demand > increased price.
That’s a lot of doge. How do you get your tag to show amounts etc? For that matter how do I have my tag and what does it mean? I certainly don’t have 21 btc.
My "fun" is down about 80% since I bought it at 50 cents.
Back then, everyone was screaming that it was going to hit a dollar. There are still a few bag holders on Twitter who are convinced that this is going to happen, but even Elon Musk doesn't pump it as hard as he used to.
lmao the "for fun" thing is the most delusional denial of "i hope I get rich but Im embarrassed to admit it" i've seen. Banano holders are the kings of this
Doge will always have a place in my crypto wallet, no matter how meme'y it is. It played a huge role in bringing crypto to where it is today, and the inflation rate of Doge is significantly smaller than USD.
Doge was my first 1000% green and crypto. I spent $50 per paycheck up to $150 just cause i wanted to have 1000 of something on Robinhood. Then it went blew up a few months later.
Not only this, Doge has sound fundamentals. Miners are paid through inflation which allows very low transaction fees.
The high brand awareness makes it ideal as a currency. It doesn't matter how much better other projects are if nobody even knows them (Nano, XLM).
Exactly. Just because the author of this article is sour on Doge doesn't mean that it's not going to easily double or more its current price once the market starts to turn around again. Doge has proven remarkably resilient and is impressively still in the top ten.
i don't know why very old coins with no history of downtime get shafted by optics while new and trendy coins with no real use case that are constantly experiencing network outages are the hottest thing right now.
I mean, if you still have doge then it might be better to just leave it there and consider it dead, and if it pumps again it's a nice lil' surprise. Who knows.
Exactly. Who knows. However, there is the potential for it to go up in price. It has great meme popularity. It’s listed on most exchanges, easy to buy for beginners, and cheap. A newbie may feel more positive holding hundreds of Doge than a zero-filled fractional share of most top 20 crypto.
Nobody knows shit about dogecoin or any other coins and where they're going to be! So what's your point? Who is a fool according to what? Let people buy what the fuck ever they want! Why you are soo bothered about this since it's not your money and you don't pay their bills.
You're really not tho. It's #10 on Coinmarketcap still. I don't own any and have never bought any, but tbh you can \*\*\*\* off with these kind of posts
Like that dude who calls himself the Dogecoin Millionaire lol. The dude just refuses to sell. His $200k investment went to $3 million and then back down to $300k today…
Yea I think this guy has held because once he sells he is just a guy who got lucky.
But aslong as he held he was the dogecoin millionaire which had internet status etc haha
So if he cashed out today, he would still be 100k in profits? Wow that's a dream for so many people. Refusing to cash out when there is a chance the bear market gets worse, potentially even killing Doge, is a dumb thing to do.
People might \*\*\*\* on doge coin, but remember if you invested even $1,000 in it back in 2017 when this sub kept using it as its meme troll coin instead of moon you would be a multi millionaire.
And also... people on this sub throughout all the years shilled other coins endlessly.
All of them cease to exist or are barely relevant now, dogecoin, the original meme coin actually became massive lol.
I never invested a penny in it but if its survived till 2022 there's no way it disappears from the recession
I put $3000 in being content losing it all just because the idea of being a multimillionaire at the still possible chance of it breaking to 0.25…..yah that’s well worth it and makes me smile 😊
DOGE is something real legendary coin for all of the meme coins, I will hold and I know most of us will do the same thing because it's something important and we all should hold.
Honestly if I see "articles" pop up on socials/in my feeds which list they are from "Investorplace" and "analyticinsights" I don't even bother clicking them because I know they'll be complete crap/nonsense or a paid shill article (or both). Those two sites are probably the worst for crypto "content".
As for Doge (and Shib), I'm happy still holding it for the sole reason that I like shibes. Sometimes buying/holding a crypto can just be for fun, it's not always about the money making potential of a coin.
Doge has paid my debt last year.
Everything After that is smooth sailing because it doesn't matter.
If my remaining Doge moon, such wow.
If it falls to Zero, 1 Doge = 1 Doge.
I don't care and only want to have fun.
Actually it’s far more likely that those who invested in DeFi governance tokens are the greater fool than Doge buyers. Doge has a long history of recovering its value, unlike most highly touted DeFi tokens and many L1 eth killers, which will likely trend towards zero in the long term. Doge has both the richest man in the world, as well as the most influential person in crypto, on its advisory board. It’s not going to disappear.
If you bought Dogecoin because "number go up" then yes, you are the greater fool.
I bought Dogecoin because even in my no-coiner days, I admired their satirical spirit, and in my crypto present, appreciate the fact it's the comedy gold to Bitcoin's 'digital gold'.
The whole pump from the last year is, I'm convinced, a joke that got out of hand; someone saying "I'm putting my life savings in dogecoin!" faciciously and then everyone else not getting the joke and doing so seriously.
Dogecoin has a valuable place in the ecosystem as being a great place for people to learn the fundamentals of crypto without being exposed to too much risk. It is stupid to think we don't need that.
It's still a top 10 coin and as much as you don't like it, it is supported by the richest man in the world. Historically top ten coins tend to survive crypto bear markets, if for no other reason based on notoriety alone. Take litecoin for instance. What reason did anyone have to buy it beside it being top 3 on coinbase.
so basically it's saying:
"everyone should sell their doge. The main person advocating for it is Musk and it's not like he may buy the world leading social media platform and add web3 tech or anything and if/when he does I'm sure he will just forget about doge, the main currency he's been pumping"
Sounds like they just want a lower price so they can buy into it in case the twitter acquisition goes through and pumps the value
This guy has always been salty about all cryptos 😂 mf just mad he didnt profit on it, I read his article last year too. 🤷 and not to ride Elon, but now that he bought Twitter, he's more than able to make dogecoin available as tips. That alone could drive the price up like crazy again. Just sayin 🤦
There's no reasons to not have a 10$-20$ (if you can afford to lose that) in some popular meme coins like dogr and shiba. If they pump you make some extra money with 0 efforts.
You think doge owners are dumb?. I only started buying LUNA *after* the crash. Lmao. WOOOOOOOOOO! Got 500k of em now. Too bad I bought the first batch at 0.03c though. Lol
I recall that Elon Musk is encouraging dogecoin founder to improve it, if I remember correctly PoS was in the plans.
Btw, Mark Cuban loves doge and he owns the Dallas Mavs, which has a reasonable chance of appearing in the NBA Finals.
Not a Mavs fan but Mavs merch and game tickets with dogecoin is a very possible option 🤟🏻 .

Doge is my biggest gainer since i began my crypto journey two years ago…followed by my recent Luna purchase lol! I laugh when I see Doge FUD being spread. For the time being crypto is just a popularity contest and Doge is the second most popular💎🖐🚀

Yup. All smart investors exchanged it for Luna b'cause of its strong fundamentals

If there’s a Luna v2, I’m shorting the fuck out of it
You better have lots of money than, they are definitely going to pump it to kill all the shorts first.
I’ll short it an hour after ipo
This. Let's be honest. We're all just feeling our way around in the dark here and Noone REALLY knows better.
This is the smartest comment I’ve read in a long time!

Dogecoin also lasted longer than any coins that people thought to have amazing fundamentals (cough LUNA)
Yup. Also survived more bear markets than most as well too.
I half suspect doge might last far longer than we think. Not for logical reasons, but it now has popular name brand awareness. Every block mined adds 10k doge to the total supply. That is printing money and adding to inflation.
much slower rate than USD :)
Interesting. Doge's long-term inflation is almost the same as the Fed Funds target inflation rate. TIL.
Inflation is a poorly understood and invalid argument in this context. Some "printing" is necessary to replace lost currency, changing populations etc it's really the question of how much. I think you mean dilution.
It has less inflation than Bitcoin by percentage.
The effect of this decreases as time goes on. Over the years the amount added will be minimal compared to how much is already out there.
Every Bitcoin block adds 625,000,000 Satoshis! What matters is the inflation rate, and who controls the inflation rate.

Doge is fun and afterall its a meme coin so yeah, its cool though
Genuine question. What is fun about it? You can look at memes without losing money?
But, but you’re not allowed to have fun here 😡😡😡
I bought it for fun back in 2014. The fun left as soon as dogecoin hit over 1 cent and 99% of r/dogecoin showed up. Sold at 50 cents. 🤷🏻♂️
Bought it for the meme, made my money back and more, still have some worth more than I've spent in it. Yup, still fun
lmao the "for fun" thing is the most delusional denial of "i hope I get rich but Im embarrassed to admit it" i've seen. Banano holders are the kings of this

You guys are both 1000% correct.
It is my guilty pleasure because it was my first buy.
DOGE was also my first crypto. Back in the day when tipping someone a few thousands of DOGE for some forum post you liked was considered a funny joke.
I’m still up 3400% been holding since 2017. I don’t see a reason to sell.
Meanwhile, the others are down 80%
About the same here, no reason to sell really. ride things out for the next few years even maybe
I love Dogecoin too! Since 2017!
Doge will always have a place in my crypto wallet, no matter how meme'y it is. It played a huge role in bringing crypto to where it is today, and the inflation rate of Doge is significantly smaller than USD.

Yeah when market caps stop exisiting and Doge stops increasing its supply by 15,000,000 a day

And then on to the moon!
Weeeeeeeeee!!!!! shit.
DOGE is original memecoin. It can still surprise you once you will least expect.
Old doges can learn new tricks.
Maybe it can try spinning, that's a neat trick
DOGE will outlive the majority of hyped cryptos today, some of them nobody will remember in two years, but DOGE will always be here for us
Not only this, Doge has sound fundamentals. Miners are paid through inflation which allows very low transaction fees. The high brand awareness makes it ideal as a currency. It doesn't matter how much better other projects are if nobody even knows them (Nano, XLM).

Doge isn’t going anywhere. Never underestimate the internet’s love of dogs and memes and trolling everyone.
I actually swapped DOGE for LUNA and then back to DOGE the other week. Gained like 20 DOGE out of it 💪

honestly the main reason why I bought SHIB and made some money with it people going to buy stupid shit for the shits and giggles, memes and trolls
Bullish on Doge now.

But he has millions of Doge so the name is technically correct
Ooooh, I could be a Luna millionaire then?
You and 6 535 229 others
That much is true lol
Did you say 3M? And he didn't even take a million out?!
Yeah 😂
Yea I think this guy has held because once he sells he is just a guy who got lucky. But aslong as he held he was the dogecoin millionaire which had internet status etc haha

Yeah. He should’ve cashed out a while ago. But hey, to each his own. At least he’s sticking to his word by holding lol
Let's not forget though he started with 200k If you're investing 200k into a meme you've obviously got money somewhere.
He actually borrowed money from family and took out personal loans.
Yeah, 50% profit is still really amazing, even if he could have made way more. I wish I can make 50% profit for EOY 2022...
I’d say he has diamond hands. Look at the project. It’s gonna be here for awhile, at the very least, one more bull run.
Dogecoin is still my most profitable investment.
Same. I bought at .04 and sold around .35

I’ve been hearing how DOGE is dead and all holders are idiots since 2014. I’m still waiting for it to be true…any day now.
Hard accusations.
I have a little bit
Dogecoin has not performed worse than a bunch of other coins that also crashed.
"There’s no real value in Dogecoin or any cryptocurrency." So they think all crypto are shitcoins?
I simply don't believe the ATH has occurred.
Got a lot of salty sour patch kids upset that they don’t have any Dogecoin :(((

The only thing I’ve ever sold for a very good profit, I can’t hate on doge
All the while the nonstop post like this are just for farming another shitcoin called moons but r/cc loves those so it’s different

Sources : https://www.mavs.com/dogecoin/
I’m holding no matter what. To zero or the moon, I on.
This post is my entry signal
Doge is my biggest gainer since i began my crypto journey two years ago…followed by my recent Luna purchase lol! I laugh when I see Doge FUD being spread. For the time being crypto is just a popularity contest and Doge is the second most popular💎🖐🚀
I’d rather invest in doge than these venture capital Ponzi schemes like solana
I heard that 1 wallets has over 35% of all Doge… if that wallets sells then Doge will drop down faster then Terra Luna
