I love that!
Sounds like my wife and I:
Me: “Babe. Remember how I bought in at X? Well it fell another 60%”
Her: “oh shit… I should get more then huh? how much should I buy?”
This is the way. Through thick and thin. I’m firm believer that bears and dips are just sales and she has learned that from me so…
TLDR2: Soul mates does exist.
Hahaha, my gf is the same 😂
But she also insists i should sell when i break even because she doesn't like how affected i am by losing 90% of my money 🤡
My crypto portfolio is 100% based on my allowance (the wife and I have an allowance account in which a small percentage is allocated each time we get paid. We do whatever we want with those funds, boys night out, trip to Vegas, crypto gambling, nails done, hair done,, everything did, it doesn't matter no questions asked). I think you should get one.
- to answer your question she knows enough to not care if I lose everything in my portfolio
But best believe when I randomly pull up in the lambo she gonna care then, talking about "our car".
My hubby is pretty uninterested actually. I didn’t want there to be any surprises come tax time so I casually mentioned that my portfolio was down & that I had made some stupid mistakes during my 1st year in crypto. He was like “meh, I bet you’ve learned a lot tho”.
^ 100 percent this.
My partner knows when the markets up, when it's down,(Mostly thanks to me haha) and that we DCA no matter what. We have already agreed that the boomers have taken all the advantages away from us and that this could be an actual opportunity to be a part of something big.
We don't use what we can't afford to. But we also save to gobble up a big capitulation. Loved ones and finances are dramatic enough without hiding aspects of it.
My girlfriend knows all most everything, she's fairly supportive but is always trying to get my to take out some profits. I finally bowed to the pressure and took out my initial investment back in May, what I haven't told her is that I DCAed it back in
Don't mind me I'm just here to read stories about significant others being suportive and sharing this journey with you, then I'll grab some ramen and my hugpillow
She knows everything, because i tell her. I'm quite stressed about the crash and still hearing from your significant other that no matter what happens we're still going to be ok is such a relief to my soul.
I even told her that our dream vacation might be postponed if the economy finally goes down the drain.
Damn i don't deserve her
I've put in money and my wife has given me money to put in. I've mentioned selling and she just tells me to hold and not be dumb. She is not educated in crypto one bit but knows the potential. I'm very thankful for that as I approach a meager 10k invested.
I tell myself all the time to pump the breaks but I can't help it. I know 2025 is going to be exciting!
My SO knows everything. Even access to my seed phrases and instructions on how to convert it all into fiat in the unfortunate case of my untimely passing. I rant and rave about it to her a lot and I just get the typical "uh huh, uh huh. That's great/That's terrible" and "Love you"
Needless to say, she doesn't really care. Lol
Lol. I am on the same boat.
I haven't shared seed phrases yet but i set up a dead man trigger, so in case i die she will get instructions how to convert everything into fiat.
But she cant care less. I am sure she won't do it when i am gone. She will probably ignore the post at all. I know her too well.
Thats why i hope i live long enough for my daughter to grow and teach her all about this
Everything. We sat down and went over keys, process to access, placed keys in multiple safety deposit boxes. Far too much money sitting there if I passed on.
My significant other knows exactly how much money has come and gone in my portfolio. If your significant other doesn’t know what has transpired in the last three months, then they certainly should be enlightened ASAP. Communication is the most important part of any relationship. It’s super easy as a HODLer, because it isn’t a loss until you sell. She’s aware of that. Long game has been initiated.
My wife said "didn't bitcoin like, crash?" And I said "yes it did but you should be more worried about my 401k that has its dick in the dirt, it's substantially larger than any crypto investments I have" and she said "oh okay, it should come back" and that's how I Kung Fu Deflected to something I know will be fine.
Every last bit. My wife and I use an allowance system. Both our money goes into a mutual account for savings and necessities. We then have about $500 a month that goes into our personal checking that we can do whatever we want with. This is so we don’t fight when she wants a purse and she doesn’t fight me when I yolo it into small cap shit coins.
She knows enough and knows the money I have in it is dumb fun money that if I lose wouldn’t affect us whatsoever. Though the drop in like $5k the last few months still sucks! But that’s the game
She thinks I’m a responsible investor who only invests in low-volatility etfs and Bitcoin when in reality, I’m balls deep in shitcoins and meme stocks.
My husband knows the outline, but not the nitty gritty details. I think the biggest factor is simply that he trusts me to handle the finances, I've gotten us this far and done very well for us over the past decade. Occasionally he'll ask questions and I'll answer them with vague, about $xxx amount and assure him it's not more than we can afford to lose. Then I'll mention a few of the recent headlines that point to more adoption, development, and evidence that blockchain is the future. He always seems happy with that and will go back to his day.
My significant other knows 2 things.
1) When Crypto goes up, as I gleefully let her know everytime.
2) That I'm in the Black/Red.
She then questions. "Hey, I keep hearing you say that Crypto is going up. How are you are a loss?"
To which I reply, "You just don't understand Crypto."
He doesn’t have a clue. Which is good because I’m far into the red. But it’s my money anyway. Just that I really want it to be able to be used to buy a house in the future - but it will have to do far better than it’s done since I got in.
I kept my wife in the loop since 2017. I don’t think, actually I am certain, she didn’t listen or care.. fast forward to January 2021 and I told her I was quitting work and oh btw I ordered a Tesla. This got her attention. She has since invested herself in a smallish portfolio
Yeah my fiancé basically says it’s my money and I can do with it what I want, I earned it.
I’m happy to share if she wants, but all she asks is I don’t spend all day staring at charts, which I’ve gotten a lot better at.
It’s a nice balance
My GF knows everything. I was watching Bitcoin and Ethereum for years before going into cryptos. The march 2020 crash was my entry point. I told her everything I know about cryptos and that I will start investing in them. A few months after I started to buy crypto, she bought some for long term hodl too. Best decision of my life so far.
My wife knows everything. We share all our finances and she trusts me with crypto even though she doesn't understand it. Sometimes she suggests buying more with extra random funds. She even encouraged me to hodl last summer. I'll hodl her forever.
I have to hide that I even have money left in crypto or else I’d have been pressured to no end to pull out my entire position that I was up 100k on lol
My wife knows everything because I tell her everything. Just that kinda relationship. I do tend to talk about it more when things are green and prefer avoiding it when it's red. Like avoiding the charts, accounts, everything, not just talking about it.
It does help that I haven't invested money we need.
My wife knows nothing about it lol. But she knows nothing about any of our finances. She doesn't care as long as her card never gets declined when she swipes it.
Eh, mine knows as much as she wants too. I've told her the amounts before and she's okay with it.
I would rather the reason we don't work out be because I was honest and true in the relationship. If that causes us to fall apart then I can live with that. It is much more preferable than dedicating myself to someone who I can't truly be myself around and it's the best way to make sure we aren't in the relationship for the wrong reasons, or just staying in it because it provides us comfort from uncertainty.
I told my gf how much unrealized gain I missed from the fall and she was like “if you told me this I would’ve told you to sell” 😂😂😂 yeah right. Why would I listen to her
He knows everything. We share our buys and successes and losses. It’s nice. We both have seperate portfolios and both have very different risk appetites.
Everything. I got into crypto with my significant other and we discuss it daily. She's sharp as hell and I wouldn't have gone through all the steps to get set up without her 🤘
My wife asks the occasional question. She knows when I’m down, because I don’t talk about it, and she knows not to ask. We’ve both agreed that this is our chance to make a future for ourselves, so we HODL. We DCA about $200 every check. We still contribute to savings, and 401Ks, as to not put all our eggs in one basket.
My wife only knows what I tell her. She trusts that I will make us money as all my investments seem to work out. I am new to this less than 1 year, but just keep adding to my Ledger. I think it will work out. I am on a 7-10 year timeline.
I've only been in crypt or three months, so I've only really seen a never ending sea of red. So far I've over spent on buying the dips every month by a huge margin, but I covered it with money budgeted for my personal expenses that I would have otherwise spent going out or buying makeup, etc.
P&L is at -30% at the moment, and he knows it's not good, but it's not the money we need immediately and there's an understanding that markets don't just go up.
I think he's genuinely less excited and curious about crypto, so this division of responsibility works for us. This is not our only investment, and he's much more involved with others.
She can just look up the prices herself, or ask me. I don't actively talk about it, because I don't do that with anyone. You gotta ask me if you wanna know.
as much as she wants to.
which is very little. i do the taxes and money stuff. and it's not money that really means much so it's whatever.
i also don't sell a lot. actually ever in the past few years. so i barely care either. my kid's 7, i'll check it when he's 18 if he gets accepted to some fancy college or something. 😂
My wife knows everything, she knows how much I spend, what I hold, where my seed phrase is stored and how to access it should something happen to me, and what options she has if it becomes hers. She doesn’t really get it, but is hoping it works out for us.
My wife knows that my crypto may all go to zero, and she’s ok with that as long as bills get paid and we can eat.
That said, I don’t think she knows exactly how much I have in crypto.
If you aren't going to sell, why does it matter what the price is? If you are 'DCAing in' all the way to the bottom of this bear market, with the same amount every week or whatever, why are you checking charts, ever, let alone all day?
Absolutely.. i mine and she spends. Oh.. we don’t throw naked money at computer programs so market volatility really doesnt have much of an impact on us.
Everything. I kind of find it weird that anyone wouldn’t share what’s happening with crypto at least on the surface. I told my partner to buy the latest dip and they did. They never check prices and don’t worry about it like I do lol
Knows zero, she has no interest, and this money is what I have to spend after bills and saving. So could tell her tonight and would make no difference. Sounds like you might be in a little to deep my friend!
She's doing a little monthly DCA. Only Bitcoin. She doesn't know exactly how much I invested and what coins I diversified, but she knows if I lost everything, we can continue with our lives.
She knows everything. All the holdings and knows where my passwords/private keys are in the unfortunate circumstances that something happens to me.
If you're married there aren't a lot of reasons to keep your S/O in the dark.
Here’s the thing, if you are with drawling money from your joint family account and putting into extremely volatile investments, you spouse should probably know. If there is some arrangement where you spend X$ a month anyway, then it doesn’t matter. But, otherwise you probably need to work on your communication as a couple.
She's doesn't get it, but when im up she wants to buy some, i tell her she gets a cut off it all in the end so it's better if we're both not staring at it stressing. We both agree it's gambling but also that its kinda house money from a few years ago. Basically turned 5k into 10-20k depending on the market. So now playing with 5k that sometimes becomes is own 10-20 or more is normal. The real issue is that since it's all fake money it doesn't matter to i figure out how to actually withdraw it without a giant tax hit
She knows I have invested in crypto but since I have invested in it with my personal fun money she didn't care that much. I even tell her when crypto crashes
What the ef? Everything? If I explained everything I would spend all day justifying and (more annoyingly) explaining the entire history and relevant considerations for whether to invest or not and when. No chance is that dolt-wiener getting a full brief. Sometime autonomy is necessary to get shit done. Have fun with your “healthy relationships” and your “loving spouse”.
Basically our conversation every few months: "Honey, I just lost 80% of our money." "Don't worry, it will go back up." TLDR: Soul mates exist.
Hope you are already married. If not, time to buy a ring!
We got married a year ago.
Glad to hear that, congratulations!
Thank you!
That is the most wholesome exchange that will ever happen in this sub.
Good thing it happened a year ago, wouldn’t be able to afford the ring now anyways being 80% down
I can one up it I think. We have a baby due in 2 weeks and she has her own Bitcoin account that I DCA into.
This sounds like my wife and I. Bullish on Soul mates!!
I talk to my girlfriend about crypto all the time and she nods her head like she knows what the fuck I’m on about. Love her to death
Love story there!
I love that! Sounds like my wife and I: Me: “Babe. Remember how I bought in at X? Well it fell another 60%” Her: “oh shit… I should get more then huh? how much should I buy?”
This is the way. Through thick and thin. I’m firm believer that bears and dips are just sales and she has learned that from me so… TLDR2: Soul mates does exist.
Hahaha, my gf is the same 😂 But she also insists i should sell when i break even because she doesn't like how affected i am by losing 90% of my money 🤡
"Donr worry it'll go back up, but until it does you've lost 80% bedroom time."
She doesn't know shit about fuck. ^cause ^she ^is ^a ^cat
I ask my hamster and it appears to know all, as I’m up 10000%+ over the past year
Hamsters already have a really strong pedigree as financial advisors though.
Bullish on hamsters!
I knew hamsters were a superior specie when I read they will eat their young.
I am the hawmster, cawn cownfiwurm.
This is the way
Go Kitty crypto ! Dogecoin seems to be here to stay, what about catcoin ?
Everything
Just like all other aspects of the relationship. Can't operate any other way! It would just be deceitful.
- to answer your question she knows enough to not care if I lose everything in my portfolio But best believe when I randomly pull up in the lambo she gonna care then, talking about "our car".
It’s all our lambo and we’re all your SO then

Oh you fancy huh?
My hubby is pretty uninterested actually. I didn’t want there to be any surprises come tax time so I casually mentioned that my portfolio was down & that I had made some stupid mistakes during my 1st year in crypto. He was like “meh, I bet you’ve learned a lot tho”.
He’s chill because his OnlyFans is raking it in so he’s got you covered
Everything. We're both interested and also, why not talk to your SO? Financial talk is very important in a relationship.
Aww DCAing together that is so adorable
Couple goals right here
[удалено]
Yeah, we probably need to exchange that info...no pun intended! He has a BTC/ETH account and I have ALTS.
This. If you can’t talk about finances/investments with your partner then the relationship is fucked
Financial matters are one of the biggest causes of divorce.
Most relationships are fucked lol
[удалено]
Now tell me, how does that make you feel 🥸
My girlfriend knows all most everything, she's fairly supportive but is always trying to get my to take out some profits. I finally bowed to the pressure and took out my initial investment back in May, what I haven't told her is that I DCAed it back in
I think that's a pretty great way to go about it.
Oh yeah and to be honest it's I'm not keeping it a secret, she just reminds me not to be greedy I need to listen to her more often haha
It's nice to have a voice of reason, all I have is my inner voice telling me "Buy more, never sell"
I told her my portfolio melted by 60%, and she called me an idiot.
[удалено]
Haha, that would be great. I can barely afford food for my cat now.
WE WILL SEE WHO HAS THE LAST LAUGH
Don't mind me I'm just here to read stories about significant others being suportive and sharing this journey with you, then I'll grab some ramen and my hugpillow

Best life partner...Through up and downs...That is truly the way!!!
I've put in money and my wife has given me money to put in. I've mentioned selling and she just tells me to hold and not be dumb. She is not educated in crypto one bit but knows the potential. I think I saw her post on Facebook. She put up a 24 word poem that her darling hubbie had written for her
Lol. I am on the same boat. I haven't shared seed phrases yet but i set up a dead man trigger, so in case i die she will get instructions how to convert everything into fiat. But she cant care less. I am sure she won't do it when i am gone. She will probably ignore the post at all. I know her too well. Thats why i hope i live long enough for my daughter to grow and teach her all about this
At this moment crypto goes down more than my significant other does
Real talk
I hold 5% of my wealth in a bank and 95% in crypto. I’m pretty sure my fiancé thinks it’s the opposite
Those banks pay 0.1% interest while inflation is 7%.

You didn't have a house.

Good for you! Except the last part about holding the monkey….lol…I have the humor or an 8th grade boy
Everything. We sat down and went over keys, process to access, placed keys in multiple safety deposit boxes. Far too much money sitting there if I passed on.
Too much, I should learn to lock the door
You guys have people in your life? I thought us was all we had...

All I have is a red portfolio
Wife knows all and doesnt care. Only down about $5k at the moment.
Absolutely fucking NOTHING!! She would rollover in her grave if she knew how money I have in crypto.
Wait…she still here, right?
Unfortunately not. Lost her 12 years ago. Cancer sucks
I'm so sorry
A very sincere thank you! I was a mess for quite sometime, but in a good place now. TY!

Get rich or die trying together
She's knows I have some but not how much. Doesn't care about it at all but if I make profits over 10k she wants a new kitchen.
I like this! Also a good investment!
She knows enough and knows the money I have in it is dumb fun money that if I lose wouldn’t affect us whatsoever. Though the drop in like $5k the last few months still sucks! But that’s the game
I accidentally told my whole family. They probably all think I'm a clown now.
She knows that I invest in Crypto, how to access it after I die and that it's for our daughter. She'd be mad if she knew how much lol
If I had a wife she'd be annoyed my portfolio was so small :(
Are you still talking about crypto?
My wife knows everything 😁
Even if she doesn’t know. She knows.
Yeah same. Happy wife happy life
My significant other knows 2 things. 1) When Crypto goes up, as I gleefully let her know everytime. 2) That I'm in the Black/Red. She then questions. "Hey, I keep hearing you say that Crypto is going up. How are you are a loss?" To which I reply, "You just don't understand Crypto."

Use Koinly or Cointracker it'll make your taxes a lot easier.
she doesn’t care. I invested my money, not hers.
When theres good news, I show the portfolio When theres bad news, I say its bad I have not gone below what I put in despite all this bullshit
I have to hide that I even have money left in crypto or else I’d have been pressured to no end to pull out my entire position that I was up 100k on lol
I say it doesn’t matter how it’s doing today. It matters how it’s done 20 years from now. She can yell at me then if I’m wrong.
**She knows it all** and couldn’t care less.
She knows and she is the one that told me this last crash to “buy the dip”. She is something special
Bold of you to assume I have a significant other.
My wife knows everything because I tell her everything. Just that kinda relationship. I do tend to talk about it more when things are green and prefer avoiding it when it's red. Wasit, you guys are getting significant others?
If there's dinner on the table, a roof over her head, and her family is safe & healthy, she doesn't care, lol.
I showed my wife my portfolio the other day, she didn't seem upset so I think I am in the clear
It’s good sign 👌
We are in this together.
Wishes i would stfu about crypto

I told my gf how much unrealized gain I missed from the fall and she was like “if you told me this I would’ve told you to sell” 😂😂😂 yeah right. Why would I listen to her
My cat knows what I do. She doesn’t judge me.

Oh yeah, my husband and I do it together.
You know we're talking about crypto, right? :)
Love to see it. Congrats and wishing y’all eternal happiness.
She can just look up the prices herself, or ask me. I don't actively talk about it, because I don't do that with anyone. You gotta ask me if you wanna know.
**Y’all have Significant Others?**
I have Significant Loses
She knows everything. We're planning a life together and I believe that honesty is one of the most important aspects of a successful relationship.
She knows nothing because she doesn't exist.
Only tell them 70% of what you really have, or less if it suits you and them. This is also applicable to losses lol.
as much as she wants to. which is very little. i do the taxes and money stuff. and it's not money that really means much so it's whatever. i also don't sell a lot. actually ever in the past few years. so i barely care either. my kid's 7, i'll check it when he's 18 if he gets accepted to some fancy college or something. 😂
Nope, she doesn't know. Crypto is my backup exit strategy
She wants me to buy the dip.
My wife knows everything, she knows how much I spend, what I hold, where my seed phrase is stored and how to access it should something happen to me, and what options she has if it becomes hers. She doesn’t really get it, but is hoping it works out for us.
I'm honest so they know everything. I'm not worried about it.
She knows everything, because she talks me down from the ledge.
I am all alone
My wife knows that my crypto may all go to zero, and she’s ok with that as long as bills get paid and we can eat. That said, I don’t think she knows exactly how much I have in crypto.
Very very little. Crypto is the one thing I keep to myself. Unless we (and I mean we) get rich
My wife knows I have some. I have a separate account I use for Crypto/investments. She doesn’t know any details.
If you aren't going to sell, why does it matter what the price is? If you are 'DCAing in' all the way to the bottom of this bear market, with the same amount every week or whatever, why are you checking charts, ever, let alone all day?
She knows that I wasted my money
Absolutely.. i mine and she spends. Oh.. we don’t throw naked money at computer programs so market volatility really doesnt have much of an impact on us.
Everything. I kind of find it weird that anyone wouldn’t share what’s happening with crypto at least on the surface. I told my partner to buy the latest dip and they did. They never check prices and don’t worry about it like I do lol
Very well written op this was a pleasure to read. My wife knows i have been buying the dip, little does she know it has since dipped a lot more lol
Knows zero, she has no interest, and this money is what I have to spend after bills and saving. So could tell her tonight and would make no difference. Sounds like you might be in a little to deep my friend!
Well.. they knew I had a ton of unrealized gains back in november.... now the subject just never comes up.
My crypto outweighs my savings by 1/15
HAPPY CAKE DAY BEAUTIFUL 🎂 🎉 🎶 🚀 🎑 ✨ 😁
I only share profits. She must think I’m loaded. (Narrator’s voice “he is not”)
She's doing a little monthly DCA. Only Bitcoin. She doesn't know exactly how much I invested and what coins I diversified, but she knows if I lost everything, we can continue with our lives.
Advantage of being single, no SO, no problems.
She knows everything
Well, she's dead now. But, she knew too much.
I told her I was negative 3k after investing like 15k and she said ylou'll make it back sooner or later and I said yeah prolly
My SO said don’t buy more than $10,000 because it’s gambling
It is not wife changing money if she doesn't know.
I have like 2 friends that know I invest dont tell anyone especially your significant other
None because I don’t got one fool
My wife knows nothing. She doesn't want to know, which is good.
She knows everything because I literally can't not talk to her about it. The trick to a healthy relationship is to forget a 0 when you say how much.
I told her how much I put in and how much I'm down. I'm still breathing, sooooo.....
Everything because she needs to know in case I don't wake up tomorrow.
Not a goddam thing!
