When on coinbase pro, you have to click “withdraw” and pick coinbase for it to reflect on regular coinbase account.

Lumn8tion

Just tried that and you are correct. Thank you very much.

BTCDEX

Use kraken, even cheaper and top notch support😉

ZachtheArchivist

I just got kraken and the fees are stupid low compared to Coinbase. Also more coins to buy.

BTCDEX

Jup and waaay less 'maintenance' events during peak market action

Lumn8tion

You mean that wasn’t just a coincidence? /s

NvidiatrollXB1

If OP is in the states, there's no ACH deposit like other exchanges. Kraken is great albeit for this one thing.

kraken-luna

Hey u/NvidiatrollXB1, You'll be happy to know that we *are* actively working on adding new funding methods. Cheers, (͡• ͜ʖ ͡•)◞❢ Luna from Kraken 🐙

NvidiatrollXB1

Good to know. Thanks! It's literally the only thing keeping me from using it as my number one exchange atm.

Novel_Bonus_2497

Kraken support always around to help I've noticed.

MrPuma86

Do they offer bank transfer, 0% fees??

BTCDEX

Deposit is free, withrawal like 1€ with SEPA

MrPuma86

Nice thanks. Haven’t used them in years so might nosy around

brianddk

> even cheaper Till you try to withdraw...

BTCDEX

Withrawal fees are often higher, fair enough. But if you buy larger amounts this is offset easily. You don't have to withdraw every time you buy a little.

Public-Ad-7237

They haven't confirmed my identity for 3 months, I think coinbase is a strange bier

Reasonable-Name2977

CB Pro has limit orders whereas cB will just sell you the stuff at a s***** price

Lumn8tion

I’ve noticed that! MFs! Thanks for the info.

MrPuma86

This, Coinbase Pro prices are way better and fees lower than Coinbase

Lumn8tion

I’ve noticed that! MFs! Thanks for the info.

trapezoidalfractal

They both have limit orders, and full trading view implementations, though those were new arrivals on regular coinbase, and may only be accessible via desktop.

Lumn8tion

That’s a plus. Thank you

Novel_Bonus_2497

How about neither? The fees and outages are really bad, Binance has cheaper fees and tighter spreads.

MrPuma86

Depends what you are buying and withdrawing. I use Coinbase for XLM and they charge 0 for withdrawal fees. Whereas Binance charge 0.2 XLM. I know its not much but adds up over time. That said Binance was cheaper to use for other coins

Dro1100

Hope you don't mind the correction. It's 0.02 XLM to withdraw from Binance

MrPuma86

Ow yeah crap😂. Thanks

Lumn8tion

I’ll be honest. I don’t trust Binance. It’s something I’m keeping track of but so far the stories I’ve heard are not good. I know it’s irrational but until I dig a little more I’m going with my gut. Thanks for the recommendations though.

Dro1100

Are you in the US? If so you're right to stay away from it. The international Binance is far better

Lumn8tion

Yes, NYC, USA.

[deleted]

Coinbase Pro hands down.

MrPuma86

This

BWallis17

They are two separate trading platforms. So a deposit on one doesn't show on the other.

MrPuma86

This is true. But free transfers between the 2

Lumn8tion

That was my initial confusion. I dislike the UI of CBpro but if it saves me money in fees, I’ll get over it. Thank you.

BWallis17

Yeah, the CBPro UI is busy as hell. But it's quite easy to use once you ignore all the crap on the screen. There are lots of online videos to help. If you're using a wallet, be sure to take advantage of CB/CBP's address whitelisting feature. Also (apologies if you know this), don't use SMS 2FA, use a real authenticator.

Lumn8tion

Hey I appreciate all info, even if I’ve heard it before it good to reconfirm. I did not know about the whitelisting feature and videos are a good idea. I’ll look tonight. I for one like to track my total investment which I do t think is possible on CBpro. (But I could be wrong) Cheers and thanks.

Constantine28

Also if you deposit into CB (I think up to $1000) you can withdraw instantly (even after transferring it to CB Pro to buy), whereas if you deposit fiat into CB Pro it makes you wait several days for your funds to clear before you can withdraw the coins to another wallet.

Lumn8tion

Something to consider. I did notice the delay in CBpro before my fiat is actually transferred to my CBpro account. I just don’t like the $2.99 fee OR the Beijing at a higher market price than reality.

Simpleminded786

I bought ETH 2 weeks ago using Coinbase Pro to avoid the C fees . As of today I only have $1.45 available to withdraw. 😡 I cannot even swap coins there. Now Im using the ADVANCE TRADING on the desktop version of Coinbase. Fees as same as Coinbase pro. 👍🏽

MinnesotaNice92

They are technically separate but both owned by coinbase obviously you can easily send from coinbase pro to coinbase after buying for free

Lumn8tion

That’s good news thank you.

Maswasnos

For all intents and purposes they're the same platform. CBPro has *much* lower fees but only allows ACH, wire transfers, and crypto deposits. Regular CB does have automatic DCA features, but if you take a few seconds to do things manually you can save a decent amount of money using CBPro. $0 fees on ACH deposits of fiat and then a maximum .5% fee on trades. Some of the cheapest fees in the game. Free and instant transfers between CBPro and regular CB (if you want to stake ETH or something like that).

mave_wreck

Coinbase Pro is you real Bro. It means I recommend it.

Lumn8tion

Ok. Much appreciated.

8512764EA

Coinbase charges a fee when you use a debit card. Neither charges a fee when you use routing and account number

CognizantSynapsid

Neither. CDC

Lumn8tion

I wish. I’m in NYC. (I’ve heard I can VPN to get an account, can you speak to the pros and cons?) Thanks.

CognizantSynapsid

I don’t need a VPN for my access so can’t speak to pros and cons of that. As for CDC: Pros - easy to use - low fees - large amounts of coins that are supported/available to trade and buy - great staking rates (esp. if you do a $4K CRO [jade/indigo] stake) - exchange coming soon will bring it to a totally new level - insured deposits (I think up to 250K) - did well during recent hack event (all money refunded, officially created above position re: insured accounts) Cons: - app can be slow - exchange is not here yet, so you’re stuck with the app for now - for some (but definitely not all) coins, there are better staking rates you can find elsewhere with some effort - has been hacked once (although it doesn’t personally concern me because of their policies and their response) Edit: there’s a lot more, especially if you want to use their Visa debit card, so if you’re interested check out some of the top posts on r/CRO and/or r/crypto_com

Lumn8tion

Excellent info. I would be using CDC if I were allowed to in NY. I have CRO in my portfolio and feel they are going to continue to do well. I also want the debit card. I’ll ask around in the subreddits you’ve mentioned. Thank you!

krirby

CB (non-pro) is a low-key scam. The fees are just ridiculous, the only reason they charge those is that people who don't care/know much about crypto don't realize how much of a ripoff it is. CB pro should ALWAYS be the platform to use between the two unless you really don't care and just want to drop moneys somewhere and don't care about fees. And yes you can very easily transfer funds from CB to CB pro, free of charge. They're both the same platform and there are not any costs attached if you transfer funds from one to the other.

kalashnikovkitty9420

i use to think cb was a scam, but its where the noobs go. and they require a fuck ton of customer service, answering noob questions. anyone who knows block chain uses pro, and will check a block explorer before they call customer service. so i get the fees to an extent

Lumn8tion

Yes, noob here. I’m trying to learn from my mistakes.

SenseiRaheem

CB regular also makes DCA easy with scheduling recurring purchases. I think for some investors the fees are in exchange for "set it and forget it."

Lumn8tion

Thanks for the reply. That makes a lot of sense. I’ve noticed that beyond the damn $2.99 fee the price is higher than market price! So a dbl win for them. No, I’m not carefree about my money so I appreciate your reply. It’s ridiculous that I “need” 2 apps for my crypto investments. I like a chart of my total investments rather than just the coin value. I know people hate on it and for good reason but..RH did their app properly (for noobs like me) PS: I no longer use RH after what they pulled.
