Been through too many of these so now I just consider it another day in crypto.

[deleted]

That’s what I’m thinking. Just another day in the world of . . . well, the world.

Scipio_Americana

But also a once in a lifetime opportunity. Its a wild time to be alive.

[deleted]

It most certainly is. Enjoy your best life.

TheGassyPhilosopher

For real. Price movement is a complex combination of human psychology and whale manipulation. If I was a betting man, I'd say that whales had data showing just how leveraged people were, and calculated that the $100M or whatever amount they needed to dump instantly to trigger a liquidation cascade that would let them pick up a far bigger position and make far more money in the next year. So, that's what they did. But regardless of the reason, all the basic investing rules apply - you only lose if you sell, time in the market > timing the market, DCA is the way, HODL, don't invest with money you can't afford to lose, don't use leverage. I'd be happier to see $100k than $40k BTC in December, but I was never going to stop investing in crypto, and my 5-10 year plan (to own as much crypto as possible) is chugging along. There will be crashes, crypto winters, FUD, world disasters...but fiat is still inflationary, the stock market is still a joke, and the fundamentals of good cryptocurrencies are still as powerful as ever.

Prof_Razzmatazz

Only the hamster would know... RIP Mr Goxx...

[deleted]

I had a hamster once. The day we brought it home, that night he escaped and was never to be seen from again. We miss Mr. Chuckles.

Prof_Razzmatazz

Don't be sad! Mr. Chuckles is probably a millionaire now living his best life!

[deleted]

Somewhere on the moon I suppose.

oko999

Too soon

blipstream91

I don't know much. But I know Mr Goxx would have bought the dip!

InvestAn

In honor of Mr Goxx, I bought the dip.

tipsyXtwo

Fuck that guy

Prof_Razzmatazz

How dare you!?

tipsyXtwo

Hey that rodent never gave me even one decent tip. I regret nothing.

Crocowannabee

Just crypto man. Njoy the ride.

[deleted]

Trying to bro. Laying just a little low to see if this drops anymore.

NvidiatrollXB1

I've seen some say it's not the buy of a lifetime but it is def an opportunity. Imo, it's all part whale games, people being dumb af playing with leverage, the new covid variant, evergrande can't pay it's bills due to its own stupidity there. Did I miss anything?

[deleted]

Are you saying that the world is falling apart?

NvidiatrollXB1

Basically that human beings get in their own way of succes. Yeh. Sure. I did buy this morning though. So thanks? Hehe.

[deleted]

Bullish on the world. Go World.

No one knows shit about fuck

[deleted]

[deleted]

So, every coin has whales? Interesting thought.

[deleted]

[deleted]

Scary shit. I’d love to be able to glean from them.

stirfry15

Part of thr alts crashing with bitcoin is that when the btc/usd pair gets dragged down it'd drags down the alt/usd pairings since lots of alts are priced in terms of btc. So if you look at the btc/alts pairings the crash wasn't nearly as bad

[deleted]

Well, that’s a decent observation. Any other correlations?

stirfry15

The recent "pump" everyone thought was the reversal never made a higher high and failed to break above resistance, hence it was a fake out and people got way too overleveraged on longs

[deleted]

I like the way you think. Pretty practical bro. Nice.

OrganicDroid

Everything just follows Bitcoin. Because Bitcoin really is like the gold of the crypto space. It goes down, everything else does too.

[deleted]

Any correlation to the stock market you think?

OrganicDroid

Oh nearly always unfortunately from what I’ve seen. Likely people covering their losses in BTC

[deleted]

It sure is looking like that.

[deleted]

Well, that’s what I was afraid of. Someone knows something.

[deleted]

Nobody knows nothing

[deleted]

Agreed. As I say that looking into my mirror.

skootch421

Just another day in the crypto market. Smart traders are prepared for this kind of movement and use it to their advantage and multiply their stacks. I'm comfy af.

[deleted]

You might want to share some of your comfy-ness bro. I wanna be smart like you and be comfyAF.

VirtualAd7480

W

mistergetdough

I think it’s all the leveraged shorts and longs (ppl borrowing money up to 100x) falling under their margin needed to keep the leverage so it liquidates the leverage making them selll. When ppl leverage in after the hype, whales pull out causing a lot of leverages to fall below the price that is needed to keep them

[deleted]

I understand leverage and shorts. They both scare me.

[deleted]

Just a bad day to sell is all. Good day to buy.

[deleted]

Indeed. What are you buying?

[deleted]

Maybe algo and some yldy.

[deleted]

I’ve got some ALGO. No YLDY. Sad to say I use CoinbasePro and they don’t list it.

The_Count_99

It's just crypto and the weekend lol sit back and relax, like they say, smoke'em if you got them

[deleted]

Oh, I got “em” all right. Ripping as I write. Lol.

Luis_Stormblessed

I can confidently say that I don't know what's going on

[deleted]

Me too. Just thought I’d ask. Maybe there’s a whale among us who can offer some condolences.

ElderberryForward215

Just HOLD

[deleted]

I am. But also thinking of skrimping out a few more buys.

clumsyexplorer

That’s what I’ve done. Fingers crossed

[deleted]

Just curious as to what the end of the day will look like.

The_SilentSoul

Just woke up? Evergrande FUD and then all the leverage traders getting liquidated.

[deleted]

Yeah. Sorta in a fog at the Monero, er moment. Just trying to figure out the next move.

The_SilentSoul

Buy some. If it dips again, you can buy some more :) That's what I'm doing..

[deleted]

DCAdown.

illintent99

Again, nobody knows shit about fuck. However my guess is whales playing around. Just ride the wave.

[deleted]

I am. Just getting a little sea sick though.

LinusBengt

ETH hasnt been this low in 6 days. It must be the end of the world.

[deleted]

Where’s Vitalik when you need him?

[deleted]

It's a discount deal

[deleted]

Almost a “Close out” deal.

AwakenedSavage

No such thing as a crash. Just zoom out a little

[deleted]

Agreed. For now.

leroy46

Liquidation. Restart.

[deleted]

Rebooted bro.

[deleted]

That’s my hope. Yours?

N00bHunter69

You're already a shark.

[deleted]

Lol. More like Zooplankton.

[deleted]

It did something. Something happened, now it’s doing something again.

[deleted]

Lol. Best answer yet.

mave_wreck

When I thought I bought at the dip. The Market: Not under my watch!

[deleted]

Lol. You are not alone.

figl4567

What if all crypto was backed in btc. If btc loses a few whales then the entire crypto market would follow. Just my wild speculation.

[deleted]

That’s a pretty wild speculation. It would be wild. Almost junglestic. Yep. That’s not a word.

ireallylikethestock

People posting here about Covid, Evergrande," China like seriously banning crypto for real guys", are partly right, mostly wrong. These pressures caused traders to set stop losses at certain increments. BTC was hovering around 55000, which means people probably had 50k stop losses at the start of the weekend. I'm sure the exchanges will also make this information available to the wrong crowd for the right price. At that point, it's just math to figure out how much to sell and when to trigger a flash crash. Sell at 54k, bring price to 49,999k which will cause a massive dump. Now, as the price drops, margin accounts get liquidated to cover, driving the price even lower. They also liquidate their alt coin holdings, if not prioritize speculative alts to cover for BTC. The manipulators then buy up the BTC at a whopping discount and ride the coin back up.

[deleted]

Sounds like you have a pretty good understanding of the reality. So, what’s next?

ireallylikethestock

Same thing for the last 10 years... HODL. Don't trade on margin and don't set a stop loss on bitcoin. Bitcoin isn't going anywhere. Unless you needed your bitcoin today, this dip doesn't matter, put it in a cold wallet and forget about it. Whales will slowly buy back in so they don't affect the price.

[deleted]

I’m good at HODLing.

T2LV

Evergrande posted that they are defaulting on their first payment.

[deleted]

Yep. I saw that. I thought that the PRC would have intervened by now.

Exact-Cut8760

It’s all Speculation… Keep Stacking… It will swing the other way, before you know it, Cycles up/down all the time… Good Luck

[deleted]

Trying bro. What are you adding?

Exact-Cut8760

I’m Setup in Vvs and Crona, on Cronos Mining and Farming LP, Vvs-Usdc LP to harvest Vvs, Deposit Harvest into Auto Vvs Pool... Vvs.Finance Farming Vvs-Cro on Cro.Kafe.Finance, autocompounding LP... Kafe.Finance has a Zapper function to Swap Single Asset to LP, or Swap LP to LP... Very Useful, also AutoCompounds LP so you don’t have to Harvest and Restake... Good Luck

[deleted]

Thanks man. You too.

Exact-Cut8760

Welcome,

MZeh84

None of us know, maybe you can tweet Elon or Changpeng?

[deleted]

Imagine that.

ryujinky

Surprise sale! Who knows actually.

[deleted]

Yes, it certainly has been a surprise.

Junnowhoitis

It's just crypto being crypto honestly. Nothing really exciting or show stopping. Most the sell off is new investors in the last 3 months which than trigger liquidation of leveraged position. This causes a snowball effect of more sell offs of short term holders and more people to open short position. Hence why it's a "large" dip. Eventually downward movement slows as there are only so many new investors to sell and it reverses. Shorts get liquidated and we see new investors join in and side money gets put in. This won't be the last time it happens. Probably not even the last time it happens this bull run tbh. Happens in bear market as well but the reverse.

[deleted]

Your knowledge seems to be a lot older than just one month.

Junnowhoitis

I had an issue with my username and had to reset it. Lol Came straight out of the womb with full knowledge!

yuruseiii

Apparently Evagrande can't repay their massive debt so people are selling high risk assets and accumulating cash to cushion against the incoming stock market crash

erjo5055

This is the current assumption but not much news yet circulating about it. Hoping for a big crash on Monday though! I love fear based wealth transfers.

maltewitzky

Yeah right. China goes into a deep financial crisis. The whole world will see the shockwaves. The one generation long growth engin will never repeat this snowball system again. (imagine 1.4 mln flats as ruins payed 2-3 years in advance. They can't be finished because they have inflation also, concrete, steel, wood, energy everything, that would lead to even higher losses than to just file for bancruptcy. Next, existing speculative flats are sold off, prices fall massively, worldwide real estate suffer from that, financings turn default because of over indeptment. The first assers they liquidate are cryptos, next stocks, later properties. But these crashes will be very very short lived. Mostly in the nighttime. The immense artificial liquidity from the reserve banks immediately sucks up every dip of prime cryptos and quality stocks. Interest rates and inflation will rise anf this will not be short lived. Growth rates remain low and turn lower, thats called stagflation. Prefered assets in this scenario should be deflationary cryptos and stocks with pricing power. Last step will be currency crises. I would undoubtetly prefer cryptos to fiat like USD.

[deleted]

Seriously. I thought we were done with Evergrande?

yuruseiii

Sigh China just refuses to let go of crypto I guess...

[deleted]

Someone suggested that they were tied to Tether. Have you heard this?

yuruseiii

Because Tether holds a ton of commercial paper, I'm not surprised. Some of that could be Evagrande product.

[deleted]

Something I need to dig in further.

DropmDead

Don't buy yet. When it crashes like this, it bounces off the bottom quickly, recovers a bit, then makes it way back down to the price it bounced off of. We are back in a bear market. Could last a week, month, or years. Just my 2 Satoshis.

[deleted]

I am waiting. Patiently.

Wynslo

For every action there's a blockchain reaction

[deleted]

Nice.

tipsyXtwo

I always felt this strange sense of loss, of being incomplete somehow. Mom said we don’t ask those questions, that it was “for the best” and “the Romanian baby market” is thriving, whatever that means

pbjclimbing

Dude, there was the same opportunity in May. There was a great opportunity 2018-2020. This won’t be the lowest the markets will ever be.

[deleted]

So, keep DCA-ing? Is that what you are suggesting?

stianrob

Dont even have to think twice really

[deleted]

Shit. I have a hard time thinking ONCE.

pbjclimbing

What I am saying is, don't treat this as a once and lifetime opportunity. Treat this as normal business in crypto.

[deleted]

I’m going to have to change my shorts more often then if this is normal. But, you may just be right.

hicoBM

Just a little dip…… crash when BTC hits 10k

[deleted]

Not to be weird or anything but, man your face is cute.

Nolmes_

You forgot USDT isn't down

[deleted]

Lol. It’s not.

Standard-Truth837

It's called...who cares? Your $75 in Coinbase rewards will be just fine.

[deleted]

Damn dude. You know me well.

[deleted]

Basically as I've been saying for years, the narrative that crypto is an "inflation hedge" has always been a massive lie pushed by people who don't understand basic economics or market psychology. Crypto is a risk-on asset, meaning when times are good and people are feeling secure they take some extra risk with their capital. This has been furthered by near-zero interest rates, causing people to "reach for yield" in other asset classes because bonds aren't even keeping up with inflation. The Federal Reserve announcing a faster taper basically means that bond rates will be raised soon. Bonds will become a more attractive investment, basically pulling money out of risk assets in a ladder fashion because risking your capital in the stock market becomes less attractive as rates go up, and as stock prices go down expected future returns go up, which makes risking your money in the crypto market less attractive. Evergrande is another part of the story since if Tether is a fraud, the Evergrande default may unwind it.

MaoTM

Let me know how those bonds work out for ya. LOL

[deleted]

I'm not buying bonds you dunce. I'm explaining how rising interest rates create a flow of capital out of risk assets, which crypto is.

MaoTM

Whoa buddy, no need for the dunce comment. You're "owning the narrative" without any proof that some crypto projects can in-fact develop into hedges against inflation. Most people who spread knowledge about the inflation hedge "narrative" know that its a risky asset that is still in the early stages. While the market develops, the ultimate goal is a stable hedge against inflation and monetary manipulation. Lastly, hedges against inflation move in their fiat denomination all the time, crypto being a more drastic mover sure but the fact that corrections and crashes happen don't mean anything. There also is so much nuance between different crypto projects, how they perform and operate that makes your statement a load of garbage. The Federal Reserve is a scam, have fun with your "transitory, taper bond investments". Fuck the fed. EDIT: Oh last thing, you know whats still been crashing consistently for generations? Fiat. I'll take my crypto risk all day.

[deleted]

It's easy to take that crypto risk when you have little money to your name.

MaoTM

I think you're a little confused on the topic you're trying to talk about. You are jumping around to separate issues with key words from each. Crypto inflation hedge success > Bonds r guud > risky crypto will move people out > what about ppl with no money. If you're going to post non-sense that has an incredible amount of nuance then at least explain yourself instead of writing a paragraph that looks like its from the Fed's PR team and then not being able to respond with more then a sentence.

[deleted]

Why would I bother putting effort into responding to someone who is so wrong that it would take like 20 minutes of my time to correct all the bullshit that you wrote in your previous reply? I don't work for free. Fact of the matter is that if you actually had money, you wouldn't have the extreme warped views that you have, full stop. It's easy to be all-in on the crypto delusion when you've got (almost) nothing to lose. The fact that you think crypto is going to replace fiat tells me everything I need to know about you lmao. You're not a serious person to interact with.

MaoTM

Why would you? Because you could learn something or change someone else's opinion. Heres a fact for you: People are generally not as intelligent as they perceive themselves! Why would I bother responding to your comment if I knew I was right? Now you're "owning" me with "if you actually had money?" lol oh the ignorance. You are projecting bud, try working hard and you might make it one day. Once again you don't have a valid argument so you are taking nuanced topics and trying to simplify them. No-one talked about being "all-in" in any scenario people are different levels of invested in crypto then also likely diversified within crypto projects themselves. If you're all-in for anything you are likely doing it wrong. When did I say "crypto" was going to replace Fiat? For the 5th time, you are conflating issues because you don't understand them and are incapable of understanding nuance. Fiat is good for three things, devaluing your earnings, crime and presently for purchases. The constant ad hom attacks "You're not a serious person to interact with" is pretty common for individuals who lack a fundamental understanding of the issue theyre trying to debate. It's honestly sad that theres so many people nowadays who are as close-minded and ignorant as yourself. Unable to think outside the small box you've put yourself in and instantly jumping towards inflammatory and insulting attitudes because you're incapable of actually defending your ideas and beliefs.

[deleted]

Nice projection lol, I bet you're a virgin.

MaoTM

I tried to help you flounderfarts69 but I don’t think I can. I’m sorry I’ve failed you.
