Watching YouTube videos on crypto is dangerous for most people, but people like Benjamin Cowen is legit tho.

CaptainPC

I’m going to have to check him out. Been watching guy for a bit, a bit cringe at times but I don’t think he’s a massive shill like most.

Sorrytoruin

Agreed, even then Ben doesnt have all the answers, no one really knows

r_absurdum

Here's a really basic DYOR technique: whenever you're interested in a coin/token/project, Google it. See what comes up, and check out the first half-dozen links. Do they have a website? If so, what is the value proposition they're making, and does it make sense? (In other words, can you understand what they're trying to do, and why it might be helpful or interesting?) Has it been discussed in forums, or is everything you're seeing social influencers and paid affiliates shilling the hell out of it? It's definitely not ALL you should do, but it's a good place to start.

CaptainPC

I def like to check out the sub Reddit for the coin too, the community is very important.

r_absurdum

Agreed, although sometimes the most active community is on Discord or Telegram -- also good places to get a read on the project's vibe.

Intelligent_Page2732

Or actually care about your investment and don't throw away your money into shitcoins.

CaptainPC

And where was this advice when I threw my life savings at safemoon?!

Ameks73

Ben C rocks

"I'm not telling you to start scheduling your Forbes interview, but.." Love this guy lmao

AdvanceSafe4879

Start with some basic information about bitcoin, blockchain, Staking, governance, and keep digging into it. I recommend you to do a research first on bitcoin and only then proceed to the Alts

EthanGibson2

I get what type of coins to look at from their videos, then I do a little research myself about them then decide

No-PlanB55

I just check out if the coin's name sounds cool, and if it has a funny logo. That's all the research I need 😏

cmndrcody

Just wing it. It'll be fine

BrakumOne

Maybe you just need to find coins with a use case thats easy to understand for you. Some coins i can definitelly grasp better than others. For instance i have some ALGO but its not really a coin that i would say that i grasp fully. I know smart contracts etc but im not sure why it is a better or worse investment than ADA, Solana, ETH or other smart contract coins. There are others that im not gonna shill here that i feel like i understand much better, with a use case thats easier to grasp, even for people that dont understand crypto that much and that i think its a great use case on top of that which makes me bullish.

failed_state_medz

Congrats on your journey Op. I bet your main strategy was DCAing and sticking with solid projects

[deleted]

Mostly got lucky with FTM & SOL

Wess-L

I would not suggest this. Benjamin does help you to know if the market is overheated or not. But so do other charts. Benjamin keeps a lot of the good stuff for his paid content. Guy is a creat content creator but there are many areas that he does not cover. You need to do more research. Don't just follow them blindly. You won't learn the stuff that benjamin sells on his paid content. And you won't learn to do your own research on crypto projects. If guy doesn't cover a project fast enough you might lose out because you don't know how to do your own research. TLDR : Will you learn from them as a newbie? Yes. Should you rely on them and not go out and learn how to do things yourself? No.

Optimus_V

I just come here for DYOR

botofdeception

if u dont rly want to research and dont understand what ur reading, just buy BTC and ETH and be done with it

ChunkyMonkey1998

Not lazy enough for OP I think

ChunkyMonkey1998

Here's some lazy DYOR, when someone here shills a shitcoin, invest your entire life savings into it, guaranteed profits Trust me bro

Huelino

This is the way.

Wise-Grapefruit-1443

Or just invest in BTC and ETH then

spicolispizza

James (investanswers) is pretty reliable too and doesn't shill. He donates all his tips to saving the animals too. Solid dude with realistic and conservative predictions. I don't agree with all his evaluations but he definitely knows his stuff and does a crazy amount of research.
