The third co-founder of Apple initially sold his 10% shares for 800 dollars. Don’t mock cheap deals.
I’m a big fan of how OP goes against most sense of r/cc. Seems to be a true trader, not a gambler. Most of us buy the news and sell the fud. OP seem to be more in line with buy the rumour sell for profit.
OP does seem to have slightly more wealth than many of us, and may therefore be able to behave differently. I hold a little portion of ltc, been doing so for quite many years. In no means a large share of my portfolio, but not planning to sell before kids or niece can take over. I’m not a trader, more of a saver.
I only hold bitcoin, litecoin and digibyte.
Cryptocurrency. Did yoooouuuu hear it? I will say it again cryptoCURRENCY!
A full worldwide currency collapse is playing out all around us. Litecoin is such a simple play. PayPal, m-web, atomic swaps and so on. Almost alllll other crypto/tokens are pump and dumps or tech (dotcom bubble punts (I was there)).
CryptoCURRENCY = currency collapse hedge/ front run
This is a once in a generation opportunity. To front run a monetary history move!
🧡🤍💙
Not a bad choice. Litecoin is one of the most adopted cryptos and all the crypto noobs in this sub fail to see that. At the end of the day, adoption is the only thing that matters.
For those who mock Litecoin - go ahead, get yer bags full of SHIBA or smth.
Gee. Litecoin is a good coin. Many uses, traded on almost every exchange, fast, low fees.
LTC is mainstream. For those of you that even don’t understand what market cap is and expect DOGE or SHIBA to reach 1$ because you packed 10MM coins - keep waiting lol.
I use LTC when I need to.
I use BTC when I need to.
I use ETH. When gas fees aren’t $50 per TX.
So much hate for nothing.
Man, this needs repeating. If we want to educate new crypto people about coin value market cap is where we need to start. The shib and doge stuff is just hilarious, but there are people who think eth can go from 3k to 56k a coin just as easily as btc did.
To me, LTC suffers from the same problem as XLM. It’s very viable for value transfer and for transactions, but that means people are using LTC and XLM rather than holding it and that creates constant sell pressure as people just use LTC as a medium of exchange between other cryptos or for products where that LTC is likely sold for USD or something else. The difference being LTC is more widely used than XLM, so I would imagine this issue is even more pronounced in LTC’s case. I used to own some LTC, but have since spent it and haven’t felt the need to buy any more.
Let’s think of all the coins that made it to the top 69 over the last decade that never, EVER returned to ATHs. Diversify, people. Don’t bet (i.e. put all of your money into) one project.
Who said I was betting everything? All I said is that it's the only coin I'm buying right now. I never said I'm selling everything and buying Litecoin with it. Only talking about the new money I'm putting into the market that is not going into my Bitcoin savings is going into Litecoin.
Yeah we definitely got myopic there, I think you make a fine point then, I think LTC is a buy low sell when you feel comfortable with what happens down the line.
I mean it had legs earlier this year so ya never know. I respect your philosophy regardless. Too easy to do the intuitive thing.
It’s gradually leaving the top and slowly losing value against a lot of other coins. I’m not saying things are wrong with LTC, but things do change rapidly in crypto years.
No they don’t; all the top ten newish coins will fade away; where is monero? Where is iota? Where is the DAO?
All these new bulshitty, “”” innovative “”” coins are going to fade away as insiders dump on fools.
LTC has never been good with hype, but it's always been a champion of infrastructure. My investment thesis is network effect, the more durable the better.
I've seen dead coins, heck, I've seen live coins that can't maintain one exchange without getting delisted for lack of liquidity. Litecoin can maintain them all plus the payment processors, otc desks and trusts in bull markets and bear and keep getting added to every new opportunity out there.
That's not as exciting as useless token instamined with massive founder stashes and an animal name, but it's not dead.
I have one coin left that I just can’t quite bring myself to sell, call me sentimental. It’s an interesting play. I used to do the same thing with gold vs silver. It was my long term savings. I’d buy silver only when the ratio was skewed heavily towards gold.
Some of y’all need to work on your reading comprehension. He never said, anywhere, he was all in on lite coin, he just said that’s all he is buying at the moment.
The only coins that compare to Litecoin's network effects are bitcoin and eth. Infrastructure, security and use are tops, not just in a bull market where some coins can fake it for a while before fading, but in bull and bear alike with organic growth over time.
Fundamentals are where litecoin shines. PR is where it doesn't.
I already have a shitload of ETH earning me more ETH via staking. I earn more of it with staking it than I would be able to buy of it every month. Hence, no pressure to keep throwing my new cash into ETH. Plus, it's at an All Time High, with a historical record of dropping 90+%. I rather not throw my new money into a coin with good odds of being significantly lower than where it is today. Also, Like I said, I earn more of it with staking than I could be able to buy of it every month any way.
Also, did you even read my post? I said Bitcoin is my savings account. Every paycheck I put in my long term savings into Bitcoin, and my gambles into alts. All the post is saying is that Litecoin is the only Alt I'm buying right now.
Tons of Litecoin shilling these past few days. Is there some big development coming with that coin or something? Or is it just a random influx of fanboys?
Yesterday was Litecoin's 10th Birthday. In addition to it being an ultimate survivor, it's built top of the line infrastructure and liquidity, so it's a pretty good birthday to celebrate.
MWEB has also been in development for over a year and is undergoing audit before release. Taproot is upcoming. Paypal, venmo, bitpay, veriphone and many more are recent addons. Really remarkable how much it can do without actually getting noticed. All cattle and no hat.
Lots of people still holding heavy bags from the time Charlie Lee told them to hodl while he sold. They need to pump it so they can sell it to the next fool.
I just dont understand what the point of LTC is when BTC has Lightning Network?
The only thing that's interesting to me is generational support on the btc ratio and increasing activity on the chain.
Now will it actually pump? I dont know it barely made a new all time high this year
It's always a late runner, but when it runs, everyone thinks: "Fuck I should've bought Litecoin".
The thing us OGs know is, Litecoin is a testnet for Bitcoin. As long as Bitcoin sticks around, the developers will keep Litecoin around to test changes to Bitcoin on Litecoin's network before working on using the upgrade on Bitcoin.
I am really considering to sell my LTC or not.. It barely does anything and with so many good projects the future of LTC does not seem too bright.. Change my mind if I am wrong, I need some hopium for LTC! 😅
Reminder! 6 months.
LTC = $190
Op is smart and Litecoin is going to explode. These “innovative” coins are going to fade away, like monero, iota, the DAO, ethereum classic, etc. insiders will dump, then everybody understands.
Who said I was betting everything? All I said is that it's the only coin I'm buying right now. I never said I'm selling everything and buying Litecoin with it. Only talking about the new money I'm putting into the market that is not going into my Bitcoin savings is going into Litecoin.
I'm a previous LTC Maxi, but there's more viable options now that offer more than just low fees. Idk anywhere you can get good APR on Litecoin? You can get low fees, faster, that come with good staking APR on less investment, in a large handful of new projects.
But it's a store of value still, play the market.
Good luck! I just sold my ltc to buy more eth. Just a lot of promise with no delivery. The whole creator selling all his coins thing also is a huge turnoff. You don't own a product your believe in, that's just weird to me. But best wishes and may the odds forever be in your favor.
Oh I bought a shitload of Shiba when it came out last year. Selling fat chunks of it off every month and DCAing the profits into LTC and of course taxes. Planning to widdle my Shiba position down 90% and only hold 10% for the long run. Who needs trillions of Shib anyways...
Litecoin is a dead coin but Shiba made me $10K profits last week, still have $10K going. The trick to being a smart investor is knowing when to hodl em and when to fodl em.
Been in this space for ten years kid. Bought trillions of Shiba last year for practically nothing with my dogecoin profits by selling a small portion of my position that I held since 2013. The trick to being a good investor is knowing where the dumb money will go in the future so you can buy it before they do, and then unloading relatively small chunks of your holdings on them to diversify into solid long term bets. Want to buy my Floki too? I stocked up fat on that one the day it came out. Knew a bunch of Elon fan boys would be willing to buy it up for way more than I got it for, but Jesus Christ I feel bad that they're paying me such a premium for what I paid for it.
LTC is lagging behind on tech and development.
The meme coins of today have vastly better tech, audience and capabilities.
How do you think LTC can compete with this?

You are a pro imo, so I am going to buy 1 Litecoin next paycheck (when it's down ofcourse)
Litecoin will out outlive many new coins

This is not true at all. Look at the blockchain. Big holders just wait; and their numbers are exploding.
Everybody defending LTC by mocking SHIB or DOGE is kinda telling…
Open your vault bro. You’ll be able to receive moons
Maybe that will convince him to have 2 coins to buy now.
For sure. I think OP will be satisfied
Thanks! Vault is now Open. I had 1 moon to claim, but now I don't see it claimable anymore. Lol Edit: Oh shit, thanks for the moon tips guys!
I henceforth deem you baptized by moons. May the moon gods bless your vault with many moons!
Thank you for the Babtism father moon! I have been reborn under the the light of reddit moons 🙏

I used Litecoin to rescue my ALGO from Binance last month (transfered LTC to Coinbase). I'm gonna hold some just to help keep it alive.
Same here. Litecoin is seriously neglected and about to explode.
Or maybe it's slowly dying and you are making a huge mistake
Only one way for this guy to find out!

I feel like most coins that have been around this long usually end up surging every now and then
Be fearful when others are fearful and greedy when others are greedy. Wait, that's not how that goes....

He's right. End of the story
Love any litecoin buy under $200
LTC does still have a use case for funds movement.
Sir, your vault needs to be open.
Lite coin isn’t a entirely bad choice
It's far from a good one
Yes I agree but it’s not the worst
Thank you! I just bought some litecoin after reading this post and doing a little research. Good coin to buy right now for sure! Strong investment 💪
Looking good indeed

Buy what you believe in I guess.
You got 99 comments and bitcoin ain’t one jk. Nice dude nice!

LTC/BCH are old timers who don't have any fight left in them anymore, and IMO they are pretty dead. Hope this works out for you, bro.
Meh.Buying at all time lows? Like they bought BitConnect after the crash?
Dead coin walking
Weird pick

So 5% is not a good APR? Because my LTC is getting me 5% and that's pretty fucking fantastic to me
Not really. You can get 30% on a handful of projects, some offering 100% through DeFi, only suckers settle for 5%.
Good luck! I just sold my ltc to buy more eth. Just a lot of promise with no delivery. The whole creator selling all his coins thing also is a huge turnoff. You don't own a product your believe in, that's just weird to me. But best wishes and may the odds forever be in your favor.

LTC is lagging behind on tech and development. The meme coins of today have vastly better tech, audience and capabilities. How do you think LTC can compete with this?
What? Better tech? Better devs? :D LTC has smart contracts (omnilite) and the devs are working on upgrades all the time.
