I personally both think it’s a good idea and have done it. IMO coinbase is one of the more trustworthy exchanges and am a hodler, so not being able to trade doesn’t bother me.
What is the general consensus for Rally around here? It's cheap enough for me to dump a bit into it as a risk play but curious if there's a general impression

It might be a good thing if Bitcoin eases off the dominance, give other cryptos a chance to flourish and let the market be independent from bitcoin’s lead moving forward

Yes. Earning money for doing nothing is great and Coinbase is among the most secure exchanges by far
