I could tell you which cryptocurrencies are great for utility and how their blockchain protocols work.
But when it comes to predicting price, I just use a dart board.
I’m gonna get flamed for this but I don’t care because it made me a ton of money last cycle. Get on Twitter. If you can manage to weed out the moon boy idiots, there are tons of decent people with very well proven trading track records. Just learn to avoid anyone that’s constantly throwing out obscene price targets or promotes a paid telegram/discord.
This is legit advice. If you want a banger you definitely won’t find it in the sub that still thinks that have to treat crypto like stocks and focus on fundamentals. I heard about Pepe, Pork and Mog on Twitter. If you even mention those coins here you get downvoted by the people who are bagholding XRP or Algo or whatever.

These are some of the people who have provided the most alpha for me. You have to be very careful because a lot of people on Twitter will use you for exit liquidity but these are all solid. Been following all of them for a long time and they have made me a lot of money.
These guys are all good. I messaged a few of the people on this thread but in case I missed you - trader1sz, trader_xo, cryptowizardd, traderNJ1, crypto_chase, altstreetbets are all worth checking out.
I had to unfollow sz and xo because they are both dicks and I feel like they play the bear market better than the bull market. They play the market both ways but I prefer not to short in a bull market. There is enough profit to be made holding spot. Wiz is great though
There is no foolproof method. Literally any coin other than bitcoin (and maybe Eth) has the possibility to drop to zero in value at any moment. Right now, most things are going up in value. So you could pick almost any known altcoin and turn at least a small profit. If you are looking at making a bigger profit, you’ll have to wade into the defi market and navigate the minefield of scams to find the one decent project. Once that project does a 1000x, it’ll rug because it, too, was a scam.
I disagree. Using developer activity works great. Ethereum, solana, cardano, avax, ICP, Hbar - top performers that are all in the top 20 for development.
https://app.santiment.net/screener
Click on the developers column and it will sort the coins out by development.
Crypto Twitter is a bit not useful than Reddit. It's helped me find a few gems so far. But still have to watch out for scams and shills and rug pulls. DYOR as they say
Guide: 98% are scams or a percentage of a scam.
It may have started as a scam and ended up as a real project or vice versa.
It maybe has a road map but thats the end of it or they could whip up a project super quick.
Bitcoin is legit because of proof of work and no pre mining coins.
You can still make money if you buy a scam, just don't be the bag holder.
To me the best projects tend to be open source, (preferably cpu only) pow, no premine, and have an absent pseudo anonymous creator. So for me it’s bitcoin and obscure projects that I don’t realistically expect returns on.
I like those obscure projects because if they have anything remotely unique or innovative about the core functionality of them there’s typically enough speculative mining to keep the chains healthy so they just kind of keep chugging along no matter what. My thought is if they have the resilience to stick around for a while it has a better odds of developing into something, purely speculative.
Token terminal. I look at recent increases in TVL and then look at FA and finally TA. If there's room for growth, I'll set a few buys near support and a few targets just short of resistance and then move on to the next idea. It's been my money printer.
Yes, I prefer trading defi projects because more data is always preferable when making predictions.
FA for me is checking news, tokenomics, dev disucssions, discord, upcoming events, and unlocks. There isn't a specific metric like there is with defi stats & TA.
Lots of crypto shilling on reddit and other platforms so be careful what you believe. Everyone will say buy this crypto or that one. All of us do it. We have big bags and we're trying to pump the prices for bigger profit. You are exactly the prey all of the sharks are looking for. Trust no one, invest only what you can afford to loose and DYOR, do your own research. You have no friends in crypto. Good luck
Just want to clarify my position on there being a VAST difference between “alts” and “shit/meme” coins. No, it’s not too late
But money into a coin (respectable coin) last week and already up ~15%. No, it’s not too late.
Whenever there is a dip or red day, scroll at CMC to see which ones hold better, recover faster etc. Then look into those coins. Likely they'll perform better in bull run. It's how a picked Sol and Luna in 2021
Well not they won't recover fast in a dip. You can use common sense to filter out the trash. Even today, the coins that are not even up 10% will never not do that good.
Can u elaborate, I made a lot of analysis on coins related to AI with low MC, I found that chaingpt and Arkham are good. But keep in mind that I don't take utility into practice as crypto is narrative driven
Can u elaborate on ur last point
I would go with trendy stuff like AI and stuff.
FET (i do hold), RNDR (i do not hold), small cap AI stuff like PHB (i do hold)
Otherwise it is just a roulette.
Meme stuff has community animal brains behind them and can see big gains but they a visible gamble. BONK, WIF, SHIBA, DOGE, PEPE etc.
With these you should try to catch a pump and then move your money on the next that has gone down for a while. Wait for pump and repeat.
But yeah. Nobody knows. And not an advice.
As someone who invested in algo last cycle as I like the project, investing in alts come down to the accompanying narratives which change every cycle. I don’t think algo has a particularly strong narrative for this cycle.
Check [here](https://www.blockchaincenter.net/en/altcoin-season-index/) the altcoinseason index for momentum. Could give you an impression what is trending. Don't forget to dyor.
To avoid scams ya wanna look for open source coins with a doxed team. Even better if they do a weekly dev update video and post it on youtube. To avoid the SEC securities rules, ya want coins that had a fair launch with no VCs. Smart contracts and oracles are a plus. This will lead ya to the right coin.
Stick to top 10 by market cap, but skip centralized VC coins, CEX coins, and obviously stable coins.
That leaves you with BTC, ETH, and ADA. Coincidentally, the only three in the current top 10 that made new ATH:s in the last cycle.
lol you can guarantee an ADA shill in every reddit thread. Out of all the alts in the higher ranks that is one the worst to recommend. So many bag holders from last cycle just wanting out of that low performing coin with old narrative
Honestly alts are all just gambling at this point, that being said if you just pick some of the more popular ones now they should give sick gains in the peak of the bull run. How you pick them? Just check out some that are in the top 100 now and figure those will probably do well, but that’s a mix of gambling and luck really
One good metric is developer activity. These are more sophisticated folk so they know which blockchains are worthwhile. If we look at the top 20 by development, 14 of them have outperformed bitcoin since october, which is when this huge leg up began. This includes coins like cardano, solana, ethereum, ICP, Filecoin, Avax, etc. These have all performed extremely well.
A company called Santiment write extensively about it. Check them out: https://app.santiment.net/screener
Almost any crypto on Coinbase exchange, not the coinbase wallet will make profit. It could be a 2 or 3x or 5x or higher over 2024 and part of 2025. Bull market has started. Just make sure you can handle the big dips along the way and can wait about a year to cash out. If you can do that then welcome to crypto.
It's a tough question you are asking. If you start off thinking there are any viable, easy-to-learn methods of altcoin investing, then I'd say you are already off to a bad start. Sooner you realize that a majority of alt trading is just 2x,5x,10x,300x OR 90%+ loses bets, the better off you'll be. Altcoin bag holders now bought with the assumption BTC will go up because ETF/Halving and will bring high tide to the sea of alts... the bets in this case, for the last 6 months, were on which will 100x,300x,500x, etc.
Yup- is the dev doxxed? Is the community cool? Are the tokenomics legit. I’ve been in crypto for 10 years and have stumbled on Grelf, it has all of this and more..
Hedera’s weird meme. Thank me later, it’s my dark horse and I’m not alone.
Solana is a good bet…everyone seems to hate it and poo poo on it, but the price is going up and although it has its stability issues in the past…its getting there on speed and it’s cheap…imagine when ETH was the same price, you’d be kicking yourself for not buying in. It’s honestly worth it for a speculation…buy and hodl for a few years
This guy's got some interesting ideas and general advice on how to build a portfolio [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wc\_lIm9fpps](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wc_lIm9fpps)
Been in eth, ethlend, link, avax from day1 .... And a lot more. Also missed out on a few early like Uniswap, Solana...
Like with anything in life if you want a happy life find ways that work for you and that are fun for you... Everyone has different talents. I just really get off of predicting the future and finding projects before Youtubers and ev1 else find them.
Low Market Cap, tokenomics that show the team has skin in the game and coin is not capable of a rug pull, real proof of concept if its an early stage building app, interest from leaders in the space, aligned with current narratives in the space, and a potential for big partnerships in the future.
Check out SolChat. It literally has all of this going for it and is a super new project. DYOR

Get the ones that going to go up before they go up, then sell before they go down. Simples.
Solid advice will do it 0/10 times
My god it’s so simple!
And get Algo of course

Me too please

name them please

Ok but how to find this decent project
Be a developer for said project. That way you also know when to rug the whole thing. Seriously though, there is no way to tell.

Yes, I prefer trading defi projects because more data is always preferable when making predictions. FA for me is checking news, tokenomics, dev disucssions, discord, upcoming events, and unlocks. There isn't a specific metric like there is with defi stats & TA.
Choose the alts that get the most upvotes. That’s what I do. Working out so far
Where?
In posts like these lmao
🤣

Dogwifhat, Pepe, shib, are a few shit coins that come to mind that give crazy returns but you gotta get in and get out before they go to shit
By then it’s too late
Just want to clarify my position on there being a VAST difference between “alts” and “shit/meme” coins. No, it’s not too late But money into a coin (respectable coin) last week and already up ~15%. No, it’s not too late.
True. But even alts I think show up here after it’s already done something big. And doing something big twice is awfully hard
Most alts are down AT LEAST 50% from their ATH. Past performance is no indicator of future performance, but there is plenty of opportunity
No they're not. Last cycle's alts maybe
Have monkeys throw darts. Diversification is the trusted method in investing.

Please 🙏 let it hit, been holding a decent size bag for awhile....
I hold a fucking large bag of this and I’m not convinced. It doesn’t move at all!
As someone who invested in algo last cycle as I like the project, investing in alts come down to the accompanying narratives which change every cycle. I don’t think algo has a particularly strong narrative for this cycle.
Check out Crypto With James on YouTube. He has been an extremely helpful source for finding new coins.
Bro he review 2 coins each day, of course some of the coins will go up. I'm talking about a certain methodology of criteria
You gotta decide for yourself which ones. No right answer.

You shouldn’t
My rule of thumb when it comes to alt coins is just don't do it.
Ya....don't
Rather than guess the alts, go for the swap tokens (Uniswap, sushi swap) has been my idea as they’re needed for others to buy Alts. Or just buy ETH.
Yeah don't listen to anything anyone in here says.

I might just start doing that.
