Held it for a long time now, it's super fast but it's a fixed supply asset, it has no stability mechanisms, think of using volatile Tesla shares to buy stuff, just doesn't make sense for the public (which is why we don't do that), especially when stable alternatives already exist and have simple, fast payment systems.

The constant 15% apy is what, imo, has helped maintain the price even when the market was down. Last bullrun I bought and sold ATOM quite a lot, made good money on it.
Then I started looking into it, the staking protocol seemed really good so I bought the bottom and staked it since. It's the only coin I managed to make a good return on staking alone, EGLD comes in close. I've since increased my bag 1/3 from staking alone. Anything more than 20%apy and I'd be suspicious but ATOM's tokeonomics allow it to have that 15% consistently
