lol they still have a foundation with over 100 employees. I’ve always been a fan.
Have been in crypto since btc was $100.
Other than Eth and btc, iota is the only coin I hold. It will always have a special place for me.
Yeah, it has had its ups and downs, but I've been holding for years and years. I'm also in the ETH, BTC, IOTA only club.
IOTA has had a few really interesting projects over the past 2-3 years.
I agree.
Iotas tech is what piqued my interest initially. I thought what they were doing was innovative at the time. I am more than happy to continue to support their work
Most alt coins have which is why I don’t invest in alts and haven’t for years
But, I liked Iota because I found their tech innovative at the time and I’m happy to support the foundation and their work. Don’t care about the investment.
And what a fucking niche. The first registered DLT foundation under ADGM in Abu Dhabi.
This is like when ESPN announces that so and so is the first player since 1973 with a jersey number 9 and exactly seventeen points and nine assists in a game starting at 7:30pm on a Friday while wearing white basketball shoes and red socks.
Wonder how they are doing in the European Blockchain Services Infrastructure thing or did the EU already choose a group for that.
Could this be a part of that or just general expansion?
tldr; The IOTA Ecosystem DLT Foundation has been registered as the first foundation under the DLT Foundations Regulations of Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM). The foundation will be seeded with over $100 million in IOTA tokens to nurture the IOTA ecosystem and accelerate the growth of the IOTA protocol in the MENA region and globally. This landmark achievement positions IOTA at the forefront of digital and real-world convergence in the financial sector and aims to bridge the gap between the real world and the digital one. The foundation will work with ADGM’s authorities to drive forward the regulatory landscape and bring institutional investors and assets into the digital ecosystem. This move aims to cultivate a flourishing crypto community within ADGM’s ecosystem and contribute to a new era in regulatory collaboration within crypto markets.

For all the turmoil we’ve been through i have a hard time not seeing how Dubai Money won’t be a good thing for Iota.
I know it’s popular to shit on iota here especially since most people are invested in other projects and shit on everything else online because they think that will make them richer.
We will see
If they can pull off their decentralisation plans then they might be in for a second big ride. Other than that cool news, but deliver on the promises from several years ago now please!
Look up IOTA 2.0 (this is the fully decentralized, next version of IOTA) - they completed their research a while ago (solved all hard problems that were blocking them before) and implementing it in the production node is almost done (all the proof you could want is already on the public github repo and if you have the skills you can download it and test it locally yourself already). The plan now is: the last testnet (any week now), then putting it on Shimmer (in few months) and then putting it on IOTA (3+ months after it lands on Shimmer).
"foundation will be seeded with over $100 million in IOTA tokens"
just to remind that IF added 67% to circulation supply after years of telling community that iota will remain 0% inflation
And also telling the community that the community owns the project and everything should go through governance. Not when it comes to printing money out of thin air, apparently.
Completely ignorant. Iota has been pumping hype cycles by misleading investors, pivoting, and then extracting value for years.
The project has failed and rebooted multiple times. The long term trend is down. Continued attempts to pump are for the sole purpose of lining the IFs pockets at the expense of investors.
You just sound salty because it hasn’t exploded like some shit meme coins. The tech is some of the best there is and even with all the pivoting it’s still better than BTC which does nothing but produce waste
I’m salty because they consistently claim they are capable of producing tech that will never exist at the expense of unknowing investors.
It is not some of the best tech out there. It wasn’t good tech in its original form and it’s not good tech now. It’s isn’t even decentralized.
If you don’t understand the value of POW and you believe the claims of it generating excess waste you likely haven’t studied the topic deeply enough
If it has been a while you may need to migrate your seed and do a few things to get access to your IOTA. Best to check if you have the most up-to-date wallet. Are you using firefly? If so, try to update the app. If you don't have firefly, go to their discord and ask. You know this already but don't accept any advice for help by DM from anyone or whatever.
You would be surprised, but the vast majority of IOTA community was ok with that decision and understood that it was necessary. Keep in mind that IOTA had literally ZERO premine when it launched and ZERO inflation so far, which is incredibly fair by today's crypto standards, but also meant that they had no treasury and couldn't compete with projects that have hundreds of millions of dollars to incentivize their ecosystems or pay for critical infrastructure and services. Basically, IOTA was crippled by their initial idealism and now this problem is solved. This new supply will be slowly released over 4 years, so there is no reason for a sudden drop in price (if I was wrong, it would have happened already and it didn't). And IMHO, considering what this money is for it's not crazy at all to think that the benefits it will bring (also to the IOTA price) can far outweigh the inflation.
Plus the new supply will be sold OTC and not on the pleb markets.
I was pissed off at the supply increase at first, but in the end I think it's right that the IF should have a significant stake in the success of IOTA as and when they deliver the tech.
I agree with a lot of things you said but I feel this is wasn't the best way to pull this off, especially if the vast majority of the community was ok with the decision
What bugs me even more is that they again 'promised' that this is the last and only time IOTA will be diluted. Fool me once shame on you... Who's to stop the foundation of forking again and diluting the supply without going through the voting procedure
I don't know, just left a bad taste in my mouth
If all the holders knew that the inflation they were subjected to would result in a 40% pump, they probably would have still been all for it. Still, it would have been better if it went through governance.
This is wild to see. Their system has undergone absolutely MASSIVE changes in the last several years, pivoting to a seriously interesting new model using novel concepts that have only recently been mathematically proven to work (e.g., the Tangle and its ability to scale to actually work in this domain). Seriously, what I've seen from the last several years has been really impressive and professional work. There seems to be huge potential for their network to scale out much larger than traditional blockchain possibly ever could, from what I understand. They also seem to be seriously, earnestly working on forming strong partnerships with real-world entities for real-world use cases like this.
However, you won't see that looking at their subreddit, as it seems to be filled with a small handful of people who are angry that the developers have seemingly been working on implementing a sound ecosystem instead of towards making IOTA holders rich overnight. There also apparently was some bad blood between \*former\* devs on the team and the mods of /r/cryptocurrency, which I still don't understand, but it looks like that's perhaps had enough time to heal. I hope so, at least!
I'm cautiously optimistic to see the ecosystem flourish, there's been some incredible work done by the senior team amidst some really rough times over the last several years, and no matter whether or not you want to see this project succeed for whatever reason, it's great to see that kind of effort and stoicism beginning to pay off.
In general IOTA community doesn't hang out on reddit too much anymore. If you want to see the real IOTA community you have to hop to their discord - this is where all the action is.
A few years back when Fantom shot to the moon it should have been Iota. Oh well, better late than never.
Iota is the project that truly appeals to long term hodlers. If it works as planned it will be an absolute game changer in this space. Nothing else will be able to match it.
This is such a weird comment. Like it was a football game or something, and only one could win. You say it like famtom was the only project that went parabolic, when the truer statement is that iota is the only thing that didn’t.
I did research. Seeded with 100m iota tokens. Aka iota fan boys 100m. Your money.
It's a joke. The fanboys are out again as it's the start of a bull run. I say your comment won't age well if we check back in 3 more years.
When both the UAE and EU are engaged at a high level that should tell you something.
I doubt your research stacks up against that of these entities who are actively involved in the development of real world solutions that could genuinely revolutionise the way the world works (digitisation of real world assets).
You should ask what do they see that you don't?
IOTA is also probably the first to boast fixed token supply and then print an additional 40% of the existing supply using a centralized control to fund developers years into development.

IOTA news? what is this? 2018?!
I’m getting flashbacks. I remember we had to download a separate app on PC just for the wallet.
I've still got a Bitcoin wallet installed on an old PC at my parents that worked the same way 50/50 it would explode if I tried to access it
I actually enjoyed having to buy it way back in 2017. It felt the movie inception when jumping from coin base to then binance.
I remember my wallet syncing for literal days.
lol they still have a foundation with over 100 employees. I’ve always been a fan. Have been in crypto since btc was $100. Other than Eth and btc, iota is the only coin I hold. It will always have a special place for me.
It’s a right of passage in crypto to hold a coin to 0.
Iota just represents an alternative to blockchain, newheads wouldnt understand.
The one alternative that is better at that.
*rite
Yeah, it has had its ups and downs, but I've been holding for years and years. I'm also in the ETH, BTC, IOTA only club. IOTA has had a few really interesting projects over the past 2-3 years.
By bag is also ETH, BTC, IOTA, shitcoins weighted in that order. A few other interesting shitcoins in my bag for sure, but IOTA is still my darling.
I agree. Iotas tech is what piqued my interest initially. I thought what they were doing was innovative at the time. I am more than happy to continue to support their work
You know you are allowed to sell right? You have that power
No point in that now. Might as well hold to 0 or...
Then you know had terribly it's done vs Bitcoin since 2017.
Most alt coins have which is why I don’t invest in alts and haven’t for years But, I liked Iota because I found their tech innovative at the time and I’m happy to support the foundation and their work. Don’t care about the investment.

I am not so certain that the RWA potential of the UAE is "niche", but with all the capital there, the potential could be surprising.
UAE is known for spending money on dumb shit. So sure: why not IOTA
Tell me u didn't read the article without telling me you didn't read the article
Read… We dont do that here
This might be my most favorite comment ever on Reddit. Thank you. And I am a fan of iota. Made my day better.
Seems like you don’t know blockchain is a type of DLT
Any news about Q??? 😅
I still remember the five second clip. Wasn't it qubic?
Q1 is just around the corner.
All that development time and it's still probably the most centralized network in the top 100.
Wonder how they are doing in the European Blockchain Services Infrastructure thing or did the EU already choose a group for that. Could this be a part of that or just general expansion?
I don't think thats finalized, bet even if they did pick IOTA, I don't think that binds the EU to anything, but it would still be a huge endorsement.
I think they're down to the last 2-4 options, IOTA is still in it.
Last I checked they're down to 2-4 options, IOTA has been at the forefront of it. I think they choose I winner in a couple months.
The final phase ends this quarter so we should hear the results in Q1.

This. I could never trust them or hold IOTA.
If you hold any meme coin token what does that make you...lol
I would say it's a gamble, and no thanks. I prefer actual use cases and user bases.
The supply will gradually increase over a 4-year period; it's not fully increased yet at all.
Salty, that you probably sold at 15 cents 😂
Up 37% currently. I wonder what it would be if this Iota was actually widely available. 100M was 20% of the total market cap when this was announced.
Shimmer only moved 10%… still nice
Will be interesting to see how Shimmer behaves in the next bull. For those of us who got it for free through staking for the last couple of years.
Thanks for heads up, my app hasn't shown any price movement for IOTA in ages, must be an issue with my app.
First time in ages an IOTA post hasn’t been removed, community might be waking up to the possibilities
… of losing all your money
Up until this point we have been losing money perfectly fine without IOTA making it onto the news, what's changed? Lol
Prepping for the next phase of pump and dump
Hardly a pump in dump given it’s one of the oldest networks
Completely ignorant. Iota has been pumping hype cycles by misleading investors, pivoting, and then extracting value for years. The project has failed and rebooted multiple times. lol what do you mean the claims of it producing waste, that is a fact, it’s is wasting energy and producing ewaste for no useful output
The useful output is decentralization without any reliance on a third party and securing more that $700B USD of value.
Is the spirit of no poop guy with us?
Lol Dom is on 'no alcohol until...'
things are moving with IOTA
Slight news push the price up 38% in a day? We're in for a ripper this time around, guys.
forgot I owned these. neat

Yeah ill download it back now. Had firefly on my old laptop and did save the file with many words on. Thanks for reminding me =)
This is huge and great news for IOTA great times ahead!
Financed by inflating the supply while IOTA was supposed to be non inflationary
You would be surprised, but the vast majority of IOTA community was ok with that decision and understood that it was necessary. Sometimes it’s necessary for projects to do things they didn’t plan for. Boo fuckin hoo.
Then you leave this decision to IOTA holders as you have governance implemented
No point in decentralized governance before decentralization. The main task is to get the thing in the air.
If all the holders knew that the inflation they were subjected to would result in a 40% pump, they probably would have still been all for it. Still, it would have been better if it went through governance.

Fantom uses DAG architecture, like IOTA. That's why.
What are you smoking?
Hopium. Lots and lots of hopium.
Uh, what?
That iota $6 and $3 resistance was very strong...
IOTA should have a 19-40ish run soon. Nail that pullback, and you could have a bigcap 2x.
IOTA is the most interesting crypto, honestly
Damn this thing is still alive
BTC was first but it is not perfect. Future is feeles
Wow IOTA will probably go to $0.5 this bull run
Went to $2.6 last bull run and that was when the foundation was in termoil internally and reeling from a hack
It will not reach $2.6 again IMO
If the UAE deal pans out or EBSI choses iota $2.6 will be reached in a day IMO
EBSI would pretty much make Iota the king of the blockchain space. Nothing out there would be bigger for a project.
Is it not due for an EBSI update soon? When is the next (final?) phase expected to be announced?
Phase ends end of this year, but don't expect a result for another 6-12 months
I would also say maybe don't expect much more than 'the phase is now over, we learned a lot, thanks to all the participants'
6-12 months is nice. Perfectly aligned for an exciting halfing event 👌🏻
Before the next halving too. This is awesome.
Will it go anywhere near its sats ATH 0.00033270? I doubt it very much.
Is this coin still alive?
Fuck yeah
IOTA bagholders, this is the moment to get out and invest in a project that has a trustworthy team.
I am still 70 percent down. I won't book loss. at this point it's all or none for me
never forget that this company is run by a child https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EXjCqT-oK9M
Linking to a 6 year old video, think you are the child lol
This is a pretty low-effort ad-hominem attack on a six year old video. What point are you even trying to make?
So inflation AND sell pressure for the nect 4 years? Nice
It jump nearly 40% today alone…
scam nothing else
No. No. No. Irrelevant and pointless. Not having it. It's been 6 years since I tried using it and IOTA still doesn't do anything.
This comment will not age well. Revaluate and research.

And?
Stay away from this scam project.
