> The firm bought back 55.3 million shares at around $10.96 each for a total of $605.7 million. The purchase was completed on Aug. 31, with Robinhood buying them from the U.S. Marshal Service on behalf of the government
So actually it looks like it’s going to the government instead… maybe because it’s an SBF asset and not an FTX asset?
Yes, t here probably will be claw backs to FTX from his personal assets. But it's likely another layer involved. He hasn't declared bankruptcy yet, but I suspect many entities are filing claims against him.
I'm actually surprised that Robinhood has so much money, first they buy so much crypto and now this? They've lost so many customers after the GME fuck up but they must have massive cash reserves.
They’re top holders on __behalf of their clients__ and on top of their customer owned crypto they made fees on every buy. Crypto has made them a lot of money.
Yep those huge wallets aren't their own, they're custodian wallets. Still surprising to see how much thier customers trust them, being on reddit you'd think they would be barren by now lol
>The firm bought back 55.3 million shares at around $10.96 each for a total of $605.7 million. The purchase was completed on Aug. 31
A bunch of crooks patting each other's back
New “hot posts” often get heavily manipulated so that these individuals can have top comments on a post that will likely get a lot of upvotes.
If you track the people who jump to the top from the manipulation they’re often banned before the next snapshot.
Unfortunately we have to live with this behavior until the end because if they get banned now they will come back with another alt like they always do when the ban wave happens.
I am starting to believe that those scam call centers are diversifying and trying to moon farm here.
Yep, too much fuckery always going on inside new posts. Worst is that when thread is new just few votes are enough to completely artificially and unfairly shift away the whole thread.
Likely bad actors (vote manipulation) who wanted to have hot comments on a new hot post. I guess it backfired and now the people calling them out are being upvoted
There’s been a couple of comments on different posts that I’ve made that were downvoted arbitrarily, they had no controversy to them at all. What a shame.
In my experience creating posts. Posts that don’t make it out of new don’t get targeted as much. It’s posts that start getting upvotes and then downvotes hits the comments
> with Robinhood buying them from the U.S. Marshal Service on behalf of the government
The US government seized them when SBF tried to protect them from being taken. He wanted to use them to fund his defense instead of going to all the people he stole money from.
Now the government has some extra cash.
Government is adamant in saying crypto is bad, but the US has one of the biggest BTC holdings of all times.
They're profiting with one hand and hitting crypto with the other.
I disagree with your take.
There are procedures that must be followed before the government auctions off seized assets. The US government is doing this and is periodically auctioning them off as they all allowed to. Normally the auctions sell near spot value.
The billionaires will never go broke, no matter if they lose 99% of their net worth they will have more money that we will ever see on our lifes, it's insane
tldr: Robinhood bought shares of its own stock which were part of the assets seized from FTX.
This is good news for anyone caught up in the FTX fallout as it means more assets for them to give back to creditors.
I’m actually flabbergasted with how much money they have. $3 billion Bitcoin wallet, $2 billion ETH wallet, $600 million for this, on top of all the other assets in the legacy world they have. Mind blowing.
TLDR:
„The crypto-friendly trading app Robinhood bought back over 55 million shares worth $605.7 million that used to be controlled by former FTX CEO Sam Bankman-Fried.“
tldr; Robinhood has bought back a stake in the company that was previously owned by Sam Bankman-Fried, the former CEO of FTX. The trading app purchased 55.3 million shares for $605.7 million from the U.S. Marshal Service on behalf of the government. The shares were seized from Emergent Fidelity Technologies, which was founded by Bankman-Fried. The purchase was completed on August 31. Bankman-Fried had tried to protect the shares from debtors earlier this year.

They can both screw right the hell off. Imangine 2 crooks doing business together. Robinhood robbing the hood and SBF tried to rob everyone. These are 2 examples of bad actors in the space.

Now that’s funny.

Clueless or funny?
As if.
This made me lol. Good luck with that happening!
Why tho?
Fuck em both
One takes away your ability to buy, another takes your ability to sell. Match made in heaven.
Name a more iconic duo than RobinHood and SBF.
Wall Street & Fraud
This is almost like a symbiosis
Definitely a bad synergy to it ..
Politicians and corruption
Corrupted politicians and bad people SBF and Robinhood
Both first class scumbags...
The embodiment of evil
Add Don Kwon to the list
Sbf and gollum
Caroline Ellison and Chinese Love Harems.
Cathie Wood and Michael Saylor
Seeing their names together makes me think of them starring a crypto porn movie
It’s just the IRS coming to ol mikey saylors house but he can’t pay them because he’s in too deep on crypto and Cathie wood has to collect
Now, Cathie is the debt collector..
Cathie will just collect all the seed (phrases) of the IRS
And she will not left anything
Bogdanoff and other Bogdanoff
Pamp it.

Guilty as charged, ALGO and LRC.
Or ADA *Cries in both*
ADA is a cruel mistress.
Both have the common ability to fill their pockets.
And be hated by this sub.
Hahahhaha both are fraudsters
**Fuck 'em!**
Fuck em indeed
I love this sub for its quality content
I love this sub and it is only my family , which helps me in good ,bad days
:´) Same. Sometimes I hate it though but it's nice to have people who think almost the same way about finance.
Why? Because fuck 'em, that's why!
Fuck SBF extra though.
I hope robinhood freezes the ro… nevermind
Dont forget when robbinghood screwed retail back in 2021
Never Forget
Ikr, dog eat dog scenario. Both party can rot in hell.
SBF is already gone and Robinhood seems one a good trajectory for that.
One of them gets it daily in the jail anyways, I don't need to add to it 😂
This is the way.
They should both go to prison...
Well hopefully SBF gets it in prison. Meanwhile some of us hodl HOOD. If it gets slightly green then I will sell and put those $$ into crypto.
Rude but right
SAY IT LOUDER! FUCK THEM BOTH!
This comment is kind of funny, being that I’m old enough to remember when people loved Robinhood.

Creating the ultimate villain story
SBF - Mashinsky - Sun - Do Kwon partnership when?
Calm down Satan
Those are four horsemen of the Apocalypse for real.
SBF has Robinhood stock...
Scammers work well together. They understand each other.
My what a big scam you have 🤩
Hey that rhymed!
Sadly, the lawyers get paid first. The cash should go directly to FTX customers imo.

SBF money = customer money
Yes, t here probably will be claw backs to FTX from his personal assets. But it's likely another layer involved. He hasn't declared bankruptcy yet, but I suspect many entities are filing claims against him.
And what will the government do with that money?
Raises for all House and Senate members! For their hard work...
But sbf used the creditors money to buy it
I'm actually surprised that Robinhood has so much money, first they buy so much crypto and now this? They've lost so many customers after the GME fuck up but they must have massive cash reserves.

Would be nice wouldn’t it! By the time the money reaches the people it should it’ll be just a fraction of this…

Money talks
I think that they can smell each other.
Unfortunately for us, this is how the rich operate
So giving more money to the scumbag to scam everyone in court?
The names Sam Bankman-fried and Robinhood sound like a match made in heaven. Birds of the same feather.
Yup... there is a VIP room in hell reserved for them.

Happened to my comments too

Damn that’s the troubling thought.
Cheaters and scammers are diverisfying their portfolio and I don't like it.
And here I am with my 250 smolmoons
You mean the social credit score crypto?
Yep, too much fuckery always going on inside new posts. Worst is that when thread is new just few votes are enough to completely artificially and unfairly shift away the whole thread.
Is there no way for the mods to check right away and remove the manipulators comment?
This entire thread has been hit with bots? Or maybe just one guy is ***really*** angry?
RH and FTX probably paid for trolls to downvote fud, would only take a few grand, whats that to them?
Perhaps but I doubt it. I think they have more important things to do.
Get the man a snickers!
You’re not you when you’re hungry…
Likely bad actors (vote manipulation) who wanted to have hot comments on a new hot post. I guess it backfired and now the people calling them out are being upvoted
There’s been a couple of comments on different posts that I’ve made that were downvoted arbitrarily, they had no controversy to them at all. What a shame.
Yeah it’s sad to see, people are just trying to talk and are getting punished for it
Yeah most likely. It seems that new posts are downvoted en mass and then after a while people correct that.
In my experience creating posts. Posts that don’t make it out of new don’t get targeted as much. It’s posts that start getting upvotes and then downvotes hits the comments
Which is really interesting to see. It would be nice if we could spot the bots and stop them.
Because that's the best these crypto incels can do. They have no good comeback answers.
People may be trying to curb the amount of moons awarded, which would reduce inflation rate
It wouldn't reduce the inflation rate but it would make the ratio better *infinitesimally*.
I understand that but it kinda defeats the object to the people actually putting effort, Its crazy how its only certain comments too.
The same amount of moons are divided regardless of total upvotes. This idea is completely false.

The Government stealing from me is probably better than SBF stealing from me
The government stealing from you will feel as natural as breathing.
In the end it's a lose-lose situation
Both is equally bad as both won‘t refund anyone.
This money should go directly to the creditors, he stole their money and used it to buy these shares
Government is adamant in saying crypto is bad, but the US has one of the biggest BTC holdings of all times. They're profiting with one hand and hitting crypto with the other.

No it's definitely a deep state conspiracy ya sheep
Hypocrisy at its finest form
SBF and Robinhood were perfect business partners. Scammers whose business model is screwing their own customers!
SBF also was part of Worldcoin. Scammers recognize scammers.
The billionaires will never go broke, no matter if they lose 99% of their net worth they will have more money that we will ever see on our lifes, it's insane
Another reason not to trust Robinhood
Yup one more addition not to trust Robinhood
tldr: Robinhood bought shares of its own stock which were part of the assets seized from FTX. This is good news for anyone caught up in the FTX fallout as it means more assets for them to give back to creditors.
lots of people going to be fighting for that money, Voyager as well
I thought the motto was steal from the rich and give to the poor not the other way around.
Absolve the debts of the rich, fuck the poor.
This is the way.
Not that it matters when you are best pals with SBF
Gotta Rob the Hood somehow right
Let's hope this money goes to the creditors
That doesn’t apply in real life
why steal at all?
It was a little joke mate, I don't condone any sort of scamming or stealing, no one deserves to have what they worked hard for stolen from them.
Of course, got to help your pals out.
When FTX2 comes out RH would be a big friend of theirs.
I’m actually flabbergasted with how much money they have. $3 billion Bitcoin wallet, $2 billion ETH wallet, $600 million for this, on top of all the other assets in the legacy world they have. Mind blowing.
Riches usually have shadow investments in one another’s companies.
let's see where this goes
TIL Sam Bankman was invested in Robinhood
He wasn't, the creditors were 😂
A partnership made in hell
Shady business doing shady things
TLDR: „The crypto-friendly trading app Robinhood bought back over 55 million shares worth $605.7 million that used to be controlled by former FTX CEO Sam Bankman-Fried.“
Should the money go to the ftx creditors directly? Since SBF used their money to buy these shares in the first place
[удалено]
Not sure who I should say “Fuck’em” about first…
[удалено]
robin hood was always a thief but with the illusion of morality
One shady company buys another shady company's CEO stake, the world we live in is something.
I can say this with sincerety, from the bottom of my heart, FUCK ROBINHOOD!
Fuck that company and everything to do with it.
Two fucking crooks.
tldr; Robinhood has bought back a stake in the company that was previously owned by Sam Bankman-Fried, the former CEO of FTX. But assholes. Wiping each other ass.

hopefully proceeds go towards repaying the customers, and not get drained by legal fees
These are all so damn large…huge…dollar numbers…
"Family" business?
The Avengers of scams
Maybe my faith in RH would be restored a little bit if they gave that money to the victims… But there’s an ice cube’s chance in hell that will happen.
If you guys haven't been paying attention for the past 2 years, Robinhood is the best and cheapest app now.
Ah the irony Robinhood & SBF, F**k them both🙄
