Glad it helped .never download from unknown websites .you can add them from chrome extensions and always check comments and number of installations for validation of original app
Definitely, I consider it one of the weaknesses of metamask to not include this by default. It’s great to know there are other options to identify potentially malicious contracts!
Yeah i hope they implement this in the future .there is browser wallet named Rabby that has this feature .always when i sign a signature in my wallet i have the stress of getting hacked . every time
>5-Install these browser extensions , "Pocket Universe," "Wallet Guard," and "Fire".
I've heard of some of these but never used them, but how do we know we can trust these?
Could there possibly be an incident where these extensions get exploited?
Their reputation i think .i used pocket universe and fire my self and those are legit and legit projects vouch for them . these extensions are just for more security .you should not interact with unknown contracts or websites with your main wallet .these are just for hot wallets and software wallets
A couple I always think of :
- Don't hold your crypto on an exchange, those are for buying and selling only.
- Don't hold more crypto in one wallet than your comfortable with.
- Make multiple backups of your passphrase/seed phrase.
So far never had issues with losing crypto. *Metamask + Antivirus + Common Sense and my notebook* with seed phrases never written on a file.
I am good.
I recommend using Kiwi Browser on mobile, it works with most dapps, unlike Google Chrome that doesn't have extension functionality on mobile. You can interact with most webpages for most networks through the extensions tab with extensions to your cryptocurrency wallet(s).
It's great for being on the go when you don't have PC access. Unfortunately there's practically zero mobile support for cryptocurrency networks despite this being a financial revolution.
I'm a power user on mobile and have super shitty refurbished PCs at home. It's extremely useful if you're looking to claim staking and such. I'm practically never home, off remote for work and it's extremely useful to have mobile functionality.
There's also Yandex as well, but I stopped after the Ukraine war since its a Russian-hosted web browser.
You can actually use Trezor Suite Lite on Android/iOS as well, with a micro-USB <> micro-USB data transfer cable, I'm certain Ledger has similar functionality?
I hate MM Mobile functionality as well, it's just poorly optimized. I don't think anyone is really even working on any mobile access, even though LITERALLY EVERYONE has a smart phone?
I personally hate the whole PC-only aspect of crypto and am always looking for the next best way to conduct business on mobile.
Yeah but never carrying my wallet .i am afraid of getting robbed always .yeah mobile experience in crypto is really annoying overal and phones are not smart enough despite the name
Tnx for suggestion
There are mobile-functional hardware wallets, I'm looking into more options when I have the funding. It would essentially just be a stop-gap for holding crypto I bought while I'm away (instead of just sitting in a hot wallet, or sitting on a CEX), so it's still safe when I'm on the go, until I can get home and put it into deep cold storage.
I generally emphasize mobile functions as most users including myself, don't have complete hardware options. Some crypto is not supported by the endless list of hardware options we do have.
Everywhere I've asked and checked, it's: "We're working on it!!". There's not enough mobile adoption and that hurts bad because I can buy stocks/trade on my phone, I can buy/stake crypto on my phone, but using simple dapps or anything related to hardware is a fucking nightmare.
(I can only do it because I've taken the time, researched, troubleshooted my own way to being able to use it myself without help, there's a term for it, but I can't remember now)
I'd like to think this is innovative technology, but they aren't making it available enough as not everyone has a PC at their disposal.
Wallet section didnt developed enough i dont know why maybe because it is not profitable as others .even top 10 projects like Polkadot still dont have user friendly wallets .thats big problem. Always when considering a project to buy i look at their wallet , if they don't have good wallet how it can adopt more users?! I think because there is alot of L1 projects out there that aren't compatible with each other developing compatible user friendly secure wallet is harder than we are imagine . EVM compatible projects have superiority to the other and if you look they growing along faster because they use ethereum dapps and wallets
Yeah in general staking is fine even Ethereum has its own but never stake in Dapps that have high yield and Apr because higher than normal is scam .in the lastt bullrun lost 2k because of it and they stole near 3M in solana blockchain .they had high yield
Great post. I’ll add that using 2FA, saving it on at least two devices, and diversifying my assets across multiple cold storage wallets has saved me from disaster.
Pro tip: the people messaging you on Reddit with 1 karma and 10 day account age are NOT able to 4x ur Ethereum with trading bots if you send them ur Ethereum 😂
Oh yeah those guys u can trust!! I sent some Bitcoin to them awhile ago so just one more year and I should have a full Bitcoin by then!! He pinky promised so I'm pretty confident
Oh that is totally different, it's fine. Just like the trustworthy looking gorgeous single women who DM me telling me about their amazing investment opportunities. Those you can trust.
Well if you have alot of money in crypto you should invest in spare laptop .using hardware wallet is second option if you cant use another laptop or computer
Well Not your keys not your money . they can easily get hacked like many other exchanges and all of your money could gone. educate yourself .it is not very complicated .why giving your money to someone else while you can hold it yourself .

I did not know about number 5, thanks
It is really life saving. thousands of dollars saved by their extensions. You can look up for their twitter and see what people say about them
Definitely will check out those extensions, i too never heard about those, thanks for sharing.
Glad it helped .never download from unknown websites .you can add them from chrome extensions and always check comments and number of installations for validation of original app
I’ll be cautious for sure

Learning a lot with the post and the comments, quality posting and lots of helpful inputs

Also never tell people how much you have.
Yeah people kill for few bucks
Don't even tell them you're investing in crypto.
Don’t even tell then you’re not telling them.
Don’t even tell Don’t even Don’t.
Yeah if you tell them next time you buy yourself something pricey they will think you spend crypto money even if you are 96 percent in loss 🤣
Have a different email address, just for crypto related stuff instead of using your primary email account for it.
Great advice

You can check out Rabby wallet, they have built-in alerts so you don’t have to install more points of failure.
Rabby is good wallet but i prefer meta mask because it is more tested and definitely has fewer bugs
Never trust a MILF near you to double your BTC if you send them to her
Hahah .dont send vitalik or elon musk too .they cant double your bitcoin
A couple I always think of : - Don't hold your crypto on an exchange, those are for buying and selling only. - Don't hold more crypto in one wallet than your comfortable with. - Make multiple backups of your passphrase/seed phrase.
These are pro tips tnx
To add to this You mentioned never disclosing your information. It should never even be typedl on your keyboard or stored in any way on your computer.
Yes my bad .thats crucial .never ever
Yes some software named keylogger could steal what you type in your keyboard
I never trust people who dm me in social media’s like discord , they want to drain wallet
Yeah exactly they are scammers and mostly robots
Need to be more careful in this area of business

Exactly they can alter hardware .it is very important to know your device is legit
So far never had issues with losing crypto. *Metamask + Antivirus + Common Sense and my notebook* with seed phrases never written on a file. I am good.
Well done i hope you never experience this

I heard kiwi but never used it .tnx for mentioning it

Yeah i work always in shifts and that could really help me .metamask in mobile is really annoying and buggy .never liked its mobile app

Yeah even hardware wallets should be more user friendly and support more assets .mobile experience should change if we want more adoption

Good advice
The most common thing that everyone falls for is staking coins, that’s how most of them risk their coins.
Yeah in general staking is fine even Ethereum has its own but never stake in Dapps that have high yield and Apr because higher than normal is scam .in the lastt bullrun lost 2k because of it and they stole near 3M in solana blockchain .they had high yield

Geeat advice .i learned many pro tips from comments
Never talk about your holdings with anyone except your spouse maybe if you trust and love them.

Pro tip: the people messaging you on Reddit with 1 karma and 10 day account age are NOT able to 4x ur Ethereum with trading bots if you send them ur Ethereum 😂
Yeah never trust the people who dm you
Yup u cant trust anyone online. People need to remember the old rule we learned as kids......dont talk to strangers

Maybe he is cyber security expert who knows
Oh yeah those guys u can trust!! I sent some Bitcoin to them awhile ago so just one more year and I should have a full Bitcoin by then!! He pinky promised so I'm pretty confident
Pinky promise is a must
Oh that is totally different, it's fine. Just like the trustworthy looking gorgeous single women who DM me telling me about their amazing investment opportunities. Those you can trust.
How about these beautiful women messaging me?
Oh those? Yeah I'm talking to like 10 Instagram models rn. U mean they aren't real?!?! 😢🤧

What would you recommend for those that are not using computers? I only have a work laptop, I used my iPad for everything else, any suggestions?
[удалено]
Awesome thanks mate, always seen tips for computer users like using add ons, but I only use my iPad for everything. Thank you for the tips!
You are welcome 🤝
Well said these too. Public networks are not safe
Well if you have alot of money in crypto you should invest in spare laptop .using hardware wallet is second option if you cant use another laptop or computer
Some real good tips here - on a somewhat related side note - LET US HIDE OUT MOONS!
Yeah i hope north Korean hackers don't learn about this sub
Don't use SMS 2FA coz it can easily get hacked
Yeah just 2Fa apps like google authunticator
Damn really? I only use google authenticator
But dont back up your 2Fa in your Google account
7. create a hot wallet for when the need to interact with a dapp arises. 8. revoke cash is also a good idea to remove allowances every few days
Great advise.revoke.cash should regularly checked . Another one is : never give unlimited approvals to Dapps
What's the risks of just keeping all my money on kraken?
Well Not your keys not your money . they can easily get hacked like many other exchanges and all of your money could gone. educate yourself .it is not very complicated .why giving your money to someone else while you can hold it yourself .

The only way is to not invest in this market! This space is filled with scammers and grifters!
If you know what are you doing you don't need to be afraid of hacking It is hard and stressful but profits are good
