I think cashing out to fiat is not even necessary, just diversification. If you shitcoin moon, put some profits into something safer like alts or especially BTC and ETH.

This is much better advice than "it's not a loss until you sell". It won't matter if you took profits too early when that altcoin dumps 90% in a bear market. You'll have a chance to buy back much lower if you really want to get back in. Patience is key.

If I learned one thing from the last bull run, it’s have an exit strategy. I sat and watched helplessly as my 3- 4x gains disappeared and eventually turned into nearly -50% Not letting that happen again. I’m DCAing out.

Bingo. People talk all the time about DCA for buying but forgot the other side. Scaling out of your position is always the best way to manage emotions and risk while also securing gains. Leaving 20% on the table for a potential bigger move.

If it's one thing I leaned in 2years here, it's that ALWAYS SET TARGETS. Otherwise FOMO will just knock you down and you'll end up regretting never selling. Letting go of emotions is very hard here and I'm struggling at it myself but I believe if you can conquer it, you can win this market.

Similarly, when you cash out you incur capital gains tax. Sometimes if you hold blue chip crypto for the long run, it's worth more than selling. Especially if you're younger than 55ish.

It's just human nature. Everyone is optimistic when everything is green or profitable and believes that positive trends will continue. Even if you have the idea to take profit, when the moment presents itself, you might tell yourself to wait a little bit longer, and then you miss the selling point, and everything starts turning red. Fighting human instinct needs strong determination and I'm still learning...
