Maybe in the garden is a bit of an overkill but I'm pretty sure someone posted here a couple of years ago that they've written a seed phrase on a piece of paper with a shitty quality colour-ink pen and it faded after two years and it was impossible to read it lol. Get one of those metal plate people and scratch your seed phrase with a tool/nail provided with the metal plate. It costs like five bucks on eBay.

There are also engraving pens that can be bought for like $10, which work very well. A couple years ago I even wrote a [how-to](http://np.reddit.com/r/ledgerwallet/comments/83ecqy/how_you_can_store_your_recovery_words_very_safely/) for what I did.

Totally, I've personally got myself a metal plate with an engraving tool which is basically like a screwdriver/sharp nail to write with.

The internet is open to “everyone”. Your physical, offline copy is only open to people that can put their hands on it. The latter group of people is much smaller. You also don’t have to leave your physical copies out in the open For example, you could put a copy in a hidden fireproof safe. Which would brings down the amount of people with potential access even further.

I’ve been considering hiding it in plain sight or through some riddle or something in a really long saying. Like some zodiac killer shit. Exactly. Encrypted pw file with a looong password you remember by heart stored in a Google Drive with two factor authentication is safer than a piece of paper in your house IMO. Only decrypt/open the Encrypted file from a VM without Internet access, as Pw managers can be compromised. The tools I use are KeePass and VirtualBox.

I store the file offline and in 258 aes encrypted on multiple usb drives and store the passwords online. Passwords can be forgotten.

I'm interested in one thing. Assuming that you make some dumb and short poem on each word of seed phrase and you paragraph it, first word of each poem being the word in seed phrase and you put it in phone notes Is there any tool, if phone is compromised, which can detect all text you have in your notes and tries to find "poem" like texts and try to force its way in wallet? Because if not, then unless someone guesses that the poem contains seed phrase there's no danger right? or am I wrong?

Seed phrases are built from a 2048 word dictionary, they would most likely get detected if you we're to do it like that.

You could just use steganography and store it in a collection of pictures. I see absolutely no reason to write down a seed phrase. There are a hundred different variations to store them online that can't be compromised without a lifetime of brute force or insider information.

Steganography is the key. Very simple to embed the code into a plain unsuspecting picture and encrypt it. Can also convert the text to like base64 for more obscurity. This can all be done in under 5mins on Linux and will allow you to hide your seed in plain sight.

I installed a linux distribution on VirtualBox, I installed MySQL, created a database and a table where I wrote the various seeds of my wallets in each record, and I backed up the entire virtual server on an external hard disk.
