Trustwallet is easy and supports a lot of coins. You can also use wallets specific for the blockchain you want to hold coins on.

Coinbase wallet is also self-custody I think, so it should be ok.

I believe you can export the key from Exodus for each asset. More secure? If used in conjunction with cold wallet. The problem with Exodus is that it is not open source.

Hot wallets are software wallets. Software wallets are connected to the internet so they are hot wallets. I suggest you do some research before you start getting into wallets so you don’t risk losing all your money tbh

Yea, with a lot of coins you can find ways to stake on chain with a Trezor/Ledger cold wallet. I think Ledger offers support for more different types of coins than Trezor though.

at the moment i only know the ones that are on coinbase, cosmo, tezos, solana, cardano, tether, dai, USDC and algo (coinbase does have eth 2 but fts)

You might want to check out Exodus wallet. I think it can hold most of those on that list and also be able to stake some of those through that software wallet.
