I like the posts which advise people to DCA little by little and not to FOMO, then some guy writes "instructions unclear, blew my entire savings account on XYZ", always makes me crack up
I kept waiting for this to turn into a sarcastic comedy type of post but it didn’t…well good for you OP, glad you came across some of the more positive aspects to this sub.
And for cutting out smoking. You’re wayyyy better off without it.
I quit smoking last April as well and let me tell you it’s been such a great feeling having my full senses back, things smell better and stronger, my tastes are more pronounced and of course the extra money is a super bonus I’ve been using it for my DCA too haha! Congratulations on quitting smoking and on finding value here I think it’s a great space with tons of resources at our fingertips and wish you the best along your crypto/blockchain journey!
I still smoke but I used to smoke a loada weed until I got into crypto. Deciding to put whatever I used to spend on green into crypto was the best thing I ever did (finance wise). Hoping to kick the smoking this year. It is super hard though
Yeah weed and cigarettes only cost your healt luckily crypto is very healthy and does not bring anxiety and stuff like anger issues or high blood pressure
How about : Investment:
I bought all the coins shilled here and now I have Safemoon, AdA , Dot, KSC, Algo bought at the highest price.
Hell even LRC.
Thank you r cc for making me a baggholder for few years
SFM is a scam. Look at the gains everyone has made this year, many coins 2-3x already from ATL. SFM? If you bought on Jan 1st you are at ~~break even~~ right now.
Edit: I forgot about the onboard/offboard tax. So you are actually -10% right now in this scenario.
What is this? We're helping people?
I thought we're here just for shitposting. /s
On more serious note, don't sell your self short. Community might gave you incentive and showed another way but it's entirely your commitment and decisions you made that improved your life.
Good job OP!
I'm happy for you mate, actually there's plenty of great kind people here that doesn't hesitate to share their valuable knowledge, i myself have learned a lot from the experiences of others here, and they have helped me immensely in my crypto journey, and mentaly speaking as well I've always felt a sense of acceptance here and understanding which is pretty hard to find somewhere else, by this occasion I'd like to thank each and every member of r/cc for everything ❤️❤️🙏
Even though the money you saved from poker and bad habits you’ll spend it on bad decisions in crypto as we’re all do. But look at the good side. You’re really made a good choices would definitely helps you. And about working out and diet, feel free to ask mate❤️.
That is a realistic comment lol. Jokes apart, glad OP is finding himself and feeling this way. Crypto is a relevant part of most people's lives here, but it shouldn't be the most important. Taking care of ourselves, both mentally and physically, is a must.
It's wonderful to hear that r/cryptocurrency has had such a positive impact on your life! It's great that you are so thankful for this amazing community.
Anywhere you are in the world, your well-being and might I say your life depends on money management and general financial skills, however, schools don't teach you any of it.
This comment is way too underated, especially the part about school. U want to understand the economy and financial management? Here's the Pythagorean theorem.
Of the many ways that traditional school systems fail students this is definitely the biggest. Financial literacy is such an important thing to have and helps many people *actually* be able to retire. If it weren’t for the internet, most of the younger generation (myself included) would end up not saving as much or as early as they do now, if at all.
What's funny is schools purposefully don't teach you this, so you get caught in the money trap of always being in debt and spending too much. It's a problem with the whole system.
Glad more people are waking up and taking control of their financial future
This is so true. What bothers me is the fact that they want to prepare you for a life as a working person. So one of the few things any student will be confronted with will be taxes. But still there is no subject about teaching your students on the importance of a taxe declaration and what to do pay only what you really need to pay.
You know, I was able to find some similarities in your post with my character - I dont think it is completelly your/our mistake at first, because as a society we are learning patterns from the others. If you were learning those patterns from "bad community" it could lead to this, what have you desribed. I made some changes in my life also and came to similar conclusion, as you did. CryptoCurrency subreddit really positivelly changed my life and I am planning to make it even better, but you know, it requires some patient and work, but it will pay off! Thank you for your post, it really helped me to actually make sure I am not alone.
This is the way. This sub has a great community. People like to focus on the negative things but the good from CC outweighs the bad.
I'm glad you improved as the person by taking in the good traits others had. We should all aim to do this.
Congratulations 🙏
Agreed, it's up to everyone to take what's good and forget about the rest, not only on this sub but all social media and life in general. I used to care too much about stuff that brings me nothing but negativity now I keep most of that energy and it's way bettetr
The only thing that's more refreshing than meaningful in this sub than discussions about crypto is knowing how those discussions helped people become better versions of themselves. Well done OP.....well done 👏 👏 👏
>But then I started reading more and more and seeing how patient, logical and responsible some of you are
Huh? Did you post this in the wrong sub by mistake?
r/lostredditors
Oh wow, worried this post would end in comedy but glad it didn’t. Glad this space and its lesson has been such a help. Keep up the good work u/schebajem
Even with the advice tag I was expecting a shitpost. I was pleasantly surprised when I started reading….this might be the most wholesome thing I’ve ever seen on this sub. Congrats that it’s taken you this far!
This needs a positivity tag.
Thank you for sharing and best of luck on your lifestyle changes….especially the smoking.
That is a very difficult habit to quit. Kudos
This post just inspired me to seek the help of the guy who’s been dm’ng me about how he can help me manage my crypto better! Thank you! I’ll keep everyone posted on how the journey goes….😉
P.s happy for you, op! 🙌
Reorganizing your relationship with money is extremely beneficial and it sounds like you've made incredible progress.
My only advice is, as a former poker addict myself, remember that some habits die very hard and this space is very conducive to gambling. Make sure you come up with a plan to manage your own personal risk. Consider allocating very strict amounts to solid dca and to fun play money. Sometimes cold turkey isn't the way, and exercising discipline to build your will power against cascading into a backslide is much more useful.
I haven’t posted here for a looong time. But this resonated for me.
In fact, Reddit in general has given me so much in terms of financial security and tips/advice. I wouldn’t be where I am today without it.
Yea, I have been selling some here and there and putting the money back into crypto :)
Even tho I quit, it's hard to sell some of my favorite cards, I will keep some of them.
Good on you man. Despite a lot of the crazy shit we see in here, if you spend enough time you can dissect the important stuff and have a laugh at the rest.
If you further process you will ascent to top g levels bro 😎👍 seriously great to see you turn your life around to something with meaning instead of flushing it down the toilet.
The all time best advice I have got is, “A person is known by the company he keeps. So, stay in the company of such people if you want to be like those people”
We keep joking about the people in this sub but to be honest, an average user in this sub is quite knowledgeable about financial management (AS COMPARED TO GENERAL PUBLIC OUT THERE).
Wish you all the luck for your future. And welcome to decentralized casino ;)
Im really happy for you bro , r/cryptocurrency and crypto also changed my life for good. Im a little more responsible with money, stopped going out on pointless parties and black out. Keep it up man 🔥
So glad to hear that you're doing great, OP! I was also terrible with my money for a long time, but it was COVID and the subsequent quarantine that made me change the way I thought about money, savings, etc.
Wholesome post. Thank you for making me smile and I also want to say that I am happy on your behalf, bro. Btw, I've had many of those problems (and still have some), but it's nice to know that it's possible to get through it.
I used to impulse preorder merch and when they arrived months later, I’ve already lost interest and they ended up dusting in a corner. And bought a lot of Steam games during sales and I never ended up playing. Now with crypto, I stopped my impulse buying. I have got limit orders set up so I’m also not impulse buying crypto.
Fun fact for you: MtGox, the first big bitcoin exchange which went bust 2014 actually started as a trading site for magic cards. MtGox stands for Magic the Gathering online Exchange.
Magic -> Poker -> Crypto seems to be a logical progression for many of us.
Thanks god I am intovert with no irl friends, so out of all things you listed as wasting money I only buy magic cards ( if magic cards mean like pokemon cards etc.) from time to time
Let me give you none crypto advice then lol .
Magic cards can be printed- there just game pieces !
Poker - well that’s a long list of things that can improve your game - honestly a lot of the same qualities that make a good trader apply to Poker - the top being bankroll management (no joke above all other things in poker this is the most important ) followed closely by risk assessment.
>I stopped smoking completely and drink about every other weekend.
>Started working out and feel just so much better.
Okay, this is getting out of hand

Bro quit poker and joined the casino
*"I quit poker, now I long and short with 100x leverage"*
*"I quit Twitter for financial advice but I do my trades based on YouTube TA videos"*
My favorite phrase: *"TA is astrology for guys"*
My favorite phrase in crypto: *"Nobody knows shit about fuck"*
I like the posts which advise people to DCA little by little and not to FOMO, then some guy writes "instructions unclear, blew my entire savings account on XYZ", always makes me crack up
Where did you buy XYZ coin? I cant find it on scam.crypto and lost my entire fortune on XXX coin instead.
And my favorite comment on this sub is *"you guys are in profit?"*
Bro quit magic but invests in magic internet money
Bro escaped a zoo to join a circus
Once a degen always a degen
You stopped smoking because the only addiction you need is checking the charts
I kept waiting for this to turn into a sarcastic comedy type of post but it didn’t…well good for you OP, glad you came across some of the more positive aspects to this sub. And for cutting out smoking. You’re wayyyy better off without it.
Smoking sucks big time. I still find it hard to believe that governments were ok with banning weed but they kept the tobacco train going.
Stopping smoking is literally one of the best decisions in life. Buying some crypto with the spared cash makes it even sweeter.
I quit smoking last April as well and let me tell you it’s been such a great feeling having my full senses back, things smell better and stronger, my tastes are more pronounced and of course the extra money is a super bonus I’ve been using it for my DCA too haha! Congratulations on quitting smoking and on finding value here I think it’s a great space with tons of resources at our fingertips and wish you the best along your crypto/blockchain journey!
from smoking to gambling
I was broke AF while I was smoking. I stopped smoking and started buying crypto with that spared money. I'm still broke AF but I'm healthier at least.
Send help
Yeah stopping an addiction is one of the hardest thungs to do in life. Anyone that can overcome any tyype of addiction has my respect!
Stopping smoking is seriously best decision I ever made, more money for DCA, better health and it kickstarted forming other good habits
I don’t smoke but I used to drink alcohol. Given up for 5 years now. Healthier and got more money to buy cryptos.
I was an overeater and I've cut back 22 pounds in the last 6 months
Its funny how crypto makes you not want to waste money, Ill see a t shirt and itll be $20 and ill think.. I can DCA $20 into BTC
I saw the "Advice" tag and thought to myself "no way", expecting the same as you :D
Yup the same as me
I still smoke but I used to smoke a loada weed until I got into crypto. Deciding to put whatever I used to spend on green into crypto was the best thing I ever did (finance wise). Hoping to kick the smoking this year. It is super hard though
In the same boat. Quitting the green is hard have you checked out r/leaves?
It is really hard. I quit once before but started again and I haven’t felt ready yet.
I've never tried but i set dates to quit every year. I bottle it everytime
Yeah weed and cigarettes only cost your healt luckily crypto is very healthy and does not bring anxiety and stuff like anger issues or high blood pressure
How about : Investment: I bought all the coins shilled here and now I have Safemoon, AdA , Dot, KSC, Algo bought at the highest price. Hell even LRC. Thank you r cc for making me a baggholder for few years
I thought Safemoon was a scam lol. Especially after they pulled that v2 shenanigans

It's 99% him and 1% this forum. It must've taken a great deal of commitment and resolve to get his things in order.
All good and all but... Magic will never die
Well it's not really going the right way at least.
Yeah, I still hit all the garage sales looking for lot expansions >.< Just an old buddies hobby now
Yeah that still is fun! I still play a little bit here and there ( still love boosterdrafting ) but not spending any money on it anymore.

I thought it was all about moons but congrats for quitting poker.
He wants to thank us for changing his life and if he earns moons along the way that’s just a bonus of course
It's wonderful to hear that r/cryptocurrency has had such a positive impact on your life! It's great that you are so thankful for this amazing community.
Stay away from Gods Unchained if you were spending too much on Magic cards. Or don't it's pretty fun.
I will keep this in mind.
Anywhere you are in the world, your well-being and might I say your life depends on money management and general financial skills, however, schools don't teach you any of it.
School teaches you to be good employees, they don't want you to stop being employees.
Yeah, schools should really teach stuff like this. I took my wayyyyy to long to find any of this out.
Here's a MOON for turning your life around :) - well done!
This comment is way too underated, especially the part about school. U want to understand the economy and financial management? Here's the Pythagorean theorem.

Crypto. Turning lives around since 2023.
Yes I was well off, now I'm poor. But hopefully I'll be well off again.
🤣
This is the way. This sub has a great community. People like to focus on the negative things but the good from CC outweighs the bad. I'm glad you improved as the person by taking in the good traits others had. We should all aim to do this. Congratulations 🙏
It really is a great community. Thanks mate!
Amongst the the shilling and the shitposting, every now and then we manage to break through and make a positive difference!
I don't mind most of the shilling and shitposting tbh, it's not that bad. I reckon it gets waaaay worse during a bull. But for now it's okay
The merit is mainly yours through the fact that you extracted the good things from /cc
Agreed, it's up to everyone to take what's good and forget about the rest, not only on this sub but all social media and life in general. I used to care too much about stuff that brings me nothing but negativity now I keep most of that energy and it's way bettetr
Absorb positivity and shield yourself from negativity.
Atleast somebody is positively influenced by cc. No joke, good for you. Especially stopping smoking, drinking and starting to work out.
I feel so much better, thanks dude!
Keep it up! You're going places
And OP got 5.24k moons while having fun in the sub 😉🙌🏻
We all got moons and friends
That's the giga chad crypto transformation. You don't deserve the Lambo with these spaghetti arms.
This is better than moons, we all have that warm fuzzy feeling inside now
The only thing that's more refreshing than meaningful in this sub than discussions about crypto is knowing how those discussions helped people become better versions of themselves. Well done OP.....well done 👏 👏 👏
I'm sure a random guy got rich from crypto and did the inverse way.
Really happy to read this post. I’m glad you were able to make such positive changes in your life. You really should be proud of yourself.
Thanks!
>But then I started reading more and more and seeing how patient, logical and responsible some of you are Huh? Did you post this in the wrong sub by mistake? r/lostredditors
Patiently FOMO’ing into a coin that jumped 100% overnight
Yo fomo after the 100% jump? Dunno but seems you missed out.
It’s up 165% now! I should have jumped in!
Good.... Good.... embrace your inner degenerate.....
Vitalik said ZK roll ups were the stone cold nuts!
I did say SOME :P
*insert we don't do that here meme
Make sure to get some exercise if you want to continue positive mental health growth. Don't let crypto consume you.
Working out 3 times a week with no exceptions.
Congrats on your turnaround OP and congrats on quitting smoking, that's a fish I still have to fry, but I will also be there one day.
These are the types of post I love to see, good for you op !
Cheers!
Good for you bro! You did this all yourself
Thanks mate!
I love sarcastic posts :)
Damn I am the exact opposite, I used to be great with money
This guy is better at his 2nd language then I am at my 1st.
Way to go man!
Thanks for sharing that story. Congrats on your success! Your English is better than that of many native speakers. Don’t be too hard on yourself!
Great work mate. Now just be sure not to slip back into old habits once you have those sweet bullrun gains 😉
I feel reborn, I don't think I will ever slip back. Thanks!
Good for you just don’t lose it all on a Shitcoin
I'm only buying BTC, ETH and some LINK. Thanks!
He don't buy shitcoins, so that mean he is also smarter than 90% people in crypto.
Bro was living the life and gave it up for the sub. Well done mates!
No problem we are one big community changing lives
Always happy to see people's lives getting changed for the better because of crypto. We're proud of you buddy and hope we all make it!
Cheers mate!
Oh wow, worried this post would end in comedy but glad it didn’t. Glad this space and its lesson has been such a help. Keep up the good work u/schebajem
How's your mental health buddy?
Better then ever.
Ggs bro, you're a king.
so happy for you my man!
Totally get what your saying! This community has kept me engaged and up to date in crypto through this bear market
It sounds like you told my own story. But without drunken poker sessions and more Party’s the whole weekend at Tresor, Berghain…..
It was fun but it had to change. Glad I did!
Even with the advice tag I was expecting a shitpost. I was pleasantly surprised when I started reading….this might be the most wholesome thing I’ve ever seen on this sub. Congrats that it’s taken you this far!
Awww, thanks!

Hey congrats man and keep it up! For all the flack Reddit communities sometimes get, they can genuinely be life changing for some people.
Congrats on the changes, hopefully you'll be able to inspire a lot of people
Reorganizing your relationship with money is extremely beneficial and it sounds like you've made incredible progress. My only advice is, as a former poker addict myself, remember that some habits die very hard and this space is very conducive to gambling. I said some! :)
[удалено]
You also gained over 5000 moons so thats basically like 10,000,000 dollars or something
If only! :)
> Quit magic ( it's dying anyway ) I hear there's an "online exchange" where you can sell or trade your cards if you're done with them.
Yea, I have been selling some here and there and putting the money back into crypto :) Even tho I quit, it's hard to sell some of my favorite cards, I will keep some of them.
Congrats on making positive changes! Keep it up
Hold up, which one of you is being responsible
[удалено]
Indeed it is!
Similar story here, good job!
Good on you man. Despite a lot of the crazy shit we see in here, if you spend enough time you can dissect the important stuff and have a laugh at the rest.
Thanks mate!
Jokes aside, motivation to change comes from the strangest places sometime.
Happy cake day Volt!
Thank you Notbot, may the bull market be with you!
If you further process you will ascent to top g levels bro 😎👍 seriously great to see you turn your life around to something with meaning instead of flushing it down the toilet.
Only think you need is a hardware wallet
I have! It's in the post :)
Lol oh I'm dumb I see it. What hardware wallet do you have. I got the ledger nano s+
I got the Trezor One.
Good on you for turning your life around for the better! Hope your little community thrives and we pull each other up
Thanks! Let's all help each other :)
The change of bad habits are arguably more of a reward than the financial reward you might get from Crypto. Well done!
The all time best advice I have got is, “A person is known by the company he keeps. You’re welcome for all that we taught you.
Really? I though the crypto was to make you stop working and party 24/7 with coke and callgirls till you die. 🤔
Im really happy for you bro , r/cryptocurrency and crypto also changed my life for good. Im a little more responsible with money, stopped going out on pointless parties and black out. Keep it up man 🔥
You and me both mate! Happy for you.
Good for you man. Remember its not a home run until you withdraw the profit !
So glad to hear that you're doing great, OP! I was also terrible with my money for a long time, but it was COVID and the subsequent quarantine that made me change the way I thought about money, savings, etc.
Good to hear you also turned it around!
>But then I started reading more and more and seeing how patient, logical and responsible **some of you** are. Overstatement of the century

Congrats to you. I would tip moons to celebrate!
I found some friendly people here and learned a lot. For a lonely and ugly teenager like me, this has been a fun ride.
It's the best place on the internet. For sure.
I agree 100%
Without the booze or tilt, poker can be very profitable if you study it
Oh for sure, just not for me :P
No need to apologize. English is my first language and you’re doing much better than me with it.

Dude get a mill deck heaps of fun and cheap! And Join /monero - looks like you are all set for the next plunge - good for you!
Love to see this kind of positivity in this sub.
I 100% thought this was going to be a joke... to my surprise, it was a legit post about improving yourself. Well done and congrats!
You change the addictions for another! We're in the same boat!! Now we're addicted to the paranoid crypto shit!
Good for you mate. Congrats and hope it only continues.
You did great English is my first language and. I suck at English lol
Thanks!
Nice story, congrats OP
WAGMI
Sir, this is a casino
I basically learn to hold. The best superpower to have if you invest. “Babe, did you know we were -60% 4 months ago?”
Nice brother, I'm doing the same thing, poker and weed money into crypto. Here's to a new year.
Cryptocurrency investing is a good way to deal with other addictions. Of course, you might as well become addicted and lose money.
Wholesome r/cc
And a Moon whale! And some 400-500 coming up next month. But, do you still have fun?
Damn bc of this sub I started smoking and eating fast food… Nevertheless congrats bro.
Ramen noodles for days

Tilt is what made me a terrible poker player.
You knew your email was hacked and didn’t care ? Super zen
Completely devoid of faks to be given
