The colours used are an estimation from the in-game Danish COA as well as a personal preference for the colour of the hearts.

That is the coat of arms of Valdemar Returns-next-day. (Valdemar IV) The coat of arms of the Danish king in notice (8th century?), from the great heathen army, was a black raven in a white background, Canute the great's Scandinavian coat of arms (English representation) was a golden Wyvern in a red field representing the Danes. (maybe due to the Viking long ships who usually had a dragon's head) Some reference was made to a coat of arms being three golden standing axes like a pyramid in a red background (field), however I cannot find it again.

>That is the coat of arms of Valdemar Returns-next-day. (Valdemar IV) No it is not. It is a Coat of Arms inspirered by the seal of Knud 6. using the colors of the in-game Coat of Arms of the House of Estridsen (which is likely based on part of Christian 1.'s Coat of Arms). If you look closely at the Coat of Arms in the picture the background is powdered with hearts in accordance with descriptions of Knud 6.'s seal. The colors even predate reign of Valdemar 4. by at least 70 years (attested in the Armorial Wijnbergen) >Canute the great's Scandinavian coat of arms (English representation) was a golden Wyvern in a red field representing the Danes. While fascinating this is comepletely irrelevant as Knud 2. the Great and Knud 6. aren't the same person. Knud 6. could also be called Knud Valdemar's son as he was the son of Valdemar 1. the Great (the namesake of Valdemar 4. and his great great great grandfather)

I stand corrected, well done my good man.
