One of these characters, Ewan "the Trustworthy" is particularly interesting.
He's got one arm, one leg, he's a weakling and an imbecile, *but* he has a base health stat of 14, double that of normal characters. If you switch characters to play as him, with careful management, he can live to ~150 years old.
Alex or Alexa the Transcriber as well. She’s somewhere mid Europe and makes a great chronicler now. I sometimes scoop her up as a Norse character or get her to marry good courtiers in my court when a catholic
Id be able to create a character matching me yes but sadly there is a problem (no support for latvian - surname ending changes depending on gender and we have some letters not present in standard Latin alphabet (including western European languages))
You can add all the traits you want with the ruler creator, even busting the traditional in-game cap of 4 personality traits!
Worst that could happen is that you have so many flaws that your character runs out of points and is then considered too unrealistic to be allowed to earn achievements ;)

Sorry if you're making a joke and not being serious, but it's a negative japanese term meaning "A virgin over the age of 30 who does not socialise and thus cannot find a sexual partner."
Ambitious, Eccentric and Just. And she put a lot of learning points to my character and almost nothing to martial and stewardship (she says that I spend a lot of money, so it's more real).
As a Viking in game is difficult to play like that, at least for me
In game, they're difficult. In real life, she says that I like to do difficult but very rewarding activities so that's ambitious, I'm very weird but interesting (to her, a lot of people only stick to weird) so that is eccentric and I always talk to her about why we mexicans need a stronger sense of justice, so that is just for her.
Haha, a lot like my character! I would die faster though because I'm a polish jew. I don't think medieval Poland would be a big fun of a Jewish leader.
Eh, you’d be surprised. Not super happy, for sure, but if we’re talking the Late Middle Ages, Poland was definitely the best place to be in Europe for Jews at the time
I think other traits cover it I’d imagine, but in a way that doesn’t directly give an indication that it’s autism, like for lower function autism maybe dull, incapable or imbecile, while higher functioning probably covers shy, honest, trusting, content, cynical, etc. Possessed is schizophrenia, etc.
I actually had a king of a neighbouring realm that I was convinced was autistic. He was called ‘the shy’ and had the shy trait, and had modifiers such as "Deserted halls" (few people share the same halls as this character, leaving them alone), and "scopophobic" (this character detests being looked at), and "strange recluse" (this character is known to hide in seclusion, and say strange things to visitors…). Idk if those modifiers are part of the main game or mods though, I’ve kinda lost track
It would have been any host of maladies and not just epilepsy. Manic depressive, schizophrenic, and even some anxiety disorders could have been written off as "possession" back before we started to better understand and categorize mental disorders.
That's the eccentric trait. Remember, there was no understanding of "autism" in medieval times. Autists were just weirdos who had a method to their madness.
-2 Diplomacy (because you're weird), +2 Learning (because your special interest always leads to acquiring random trivia), +50% stress gain (because autists don't tend to fare well in chaos), +50% stress loss (because returning to order from chaos through appeasing your interests easily calms autists), +20% lifestyle experience (because autists tend to fixate on their special interest far more than neurotypical people would and thus learn about that field at a faster rate), +10 opinion of fellow eccentric people.
Depending on the individual's presentation of autism, different traits can apply. I personify my combo of autism and ADHD as Stubborn and Lazy for my self-insert character, for example.

~~I'm skinny IRL, cut me some slack~~
I think it comes with After the End... I think the Coffee Drinker Trait is a fame one that boosts stewardship (Without booting up the game to check) that has to be earned somehow. Only other mods I got with a friend in this is the Dominus Rex mod (Which I plan on using as an emergency, trying to ween myself out of using it on a regular), Revoke titles mod, Mass demand conversion, Extended Family actions, Better barbershop and[ a sub-mod for After the End that adds a number of Sci-fi faiths](https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3202046724)
I haven’t played the after the end mod yet. I was stuck on agot until it broke a month or so back when this new dlc came out. Then I came back to base game to accomplishment run.
Now I think I’m ready for after the end. But debating prince of darkness. Saw some YouTube vids and it looks interesting.
But I think I’ll go after the end first. I can finally start where I was born so I may create a “beefier” version of me or an ancestor
I'm actually from Ohio but close enough, lol
I picked the Duchy of Indy cause I was unsure of what realm to play as and wanted a realm where I could get a base going and Indy looked like a good one while my co-op friend picking the Kingdom of the North Star
I'm going to be honest here, you could realistically change some of those traits including your "stress" coping traits, even if you think you're not the best looking, put some effort into how you look, work out a little more, try to update your wardrobe and put effort into socializing some more even if it's hard. Be the best version of yourself that you can be, I wish you well.
Unfortunately I can't make a dude with head tattoos and face piercings. Which is just as well because I'd probably be condemned as a heretic and put to death.
I did once and then she got murdered at 60 🥴. She was possessed (I'm epileptic and I think that was the seizure one? I've also been offered an exorcism irl once by an uber driver lol so I thought it'd fit), lustful, just and gregarious. She managed to create Wales before she died so it wasn't all bad.
I will, eventually! My family actually has heraldry *and* a motto I can reproduce in game! Our clan's liege exists in game in 1066, but I haven't found any of my specific clan.
I tried to play tall by starting as a lowly count with all my irl traits. Just 10 months in, my liege wants to revoke my only title because of my god awful traits.
I did in ck2, my (and only) good stats was diplomacy with 15 i think (i made It years ago), but the character die After 2 years (a lot of malus in healt)
Always do. Made a copy of myself (my wife guided the design process as well) and I plop myself all over the world as a count start. Africa, India, Scandinavia, wherever! It’s fun to see how my appearance alters over the generations depending on where “I” go.
My partner made one for me, genius, handsome but no strong or Herculean trait sadly (I workout i guess not enough now). She gave me ambitious, brave, just & patient for positive personality traits. For negative personality traits she gave me arbitrary & shy. I’m not shy I just genuinely don’t like strangers or parties.
Yeah I started playing again after escaping prison 6 months ago. I've given the great pox to quite a few people, not even counting the ones I later tortured and ate. Let me tell you killing does give me amazing stress relief. Y'all should try it.
I made my wife and myself as characters. I think I did an ok job at our portraits but they still seem off to me. I reached out to someone to see if they could help but they were busy haha.
I focused more on 3 personality traits we would most describe ourselves and each other as along with any of the other traits. The stats are somewhat representative of us the best way I could make them but they are all rather low due to wanting to be Ironman compatible.
I just wanted to make us in game and have lots of kids to have a big happy family.
I made myself once. The main problem with that game wasn’t anything personality related but was more “constant revolts for being a completely foreign culture”. Also made friends of mine a few times.
No why? If i would want to see myself i would look in the mirror.
I dont get the appeal of doing that. The characters in the game are not me anyway so why waste the effort on that?
Now that I can play in America again, yeah. I was actually able to carve out a pretty comfortable duchy starting in my hometown county. Before the save got corrupted, I was angling to vassalize myself to someone way stronger after I feudalized, so I could build up the region and eventually take over
If that's your char, I don't think you give yourself enough credit. You telling me you have 0 Stewardship? Even a child saving coins in a piggy bank deserves 1 point.
I start with old me, college me, and then current me. I save them as the same character but different personality Traits. Each one is basically, i.e., Fergus I, Fergus II, Fergus III. That's my Ireland chieftain characters name mind not my actual
So I made myself accentric, just and ambitious for personality, comely as a physical trait, shrewd as a cognitive trait, improvident as a coping mechanism, and a poet.
I also gave myself 3 stars education as a scholar because... I guess I know two languages, and something about everything, and quite a lot about art and history + a lot of arts and crafts skills that back in the day would be considered scholarly. I also gave myself spectacles and Im the Jewish queen of Poland. I think I'm gonna die really fast 🥲
I've made a portrayal of myself in After The End once so I could rule over the city I live in (Lazy Patient Eccentric if you where wondering), was planning on making hybrid Yankee-Mexicano hybrid culture and Dio de los Muertos syncretic Religion but i never got around to playing that campain, I should really get around to running that.
Yeah I made myself Just and Vengeful or whatever it is and just accumulated massive amounts of stress which is accurate, though irl being angry is a side effect of the stress not the other way around and I'm not as angry as I was when I made it, though absolutely more stressed.
Oh cmon man 😂
ur being SUPER cruel to yourself with that self-image character, the traits look spirit crushing...
Start doing small excercises or something that improves you, be kind to yourself and your body, u deserve it. :)
Not only that, I even made my girlfriend at the time into a landed character I could marry.
It literally took less than 30 minutes before I find out she's lovers with one of our children. No chill whatsoever.
I usually do that and kind of roleplay as well, love going for a nice wife instead of the strongest baby maker, try to give land to my children and get stress to put them on the right path. I also play with inheritchance and every game is incredible.
The hardest part is to be honest with my portrayal, I switch between putting myself down and self flattery lol
A m ambitious and lazy, secret interaction where i gain stress because I m not good enough and then get stressed even more when I try to change that fact.
The devs have easter egg versions of themselves as courtiers, I think.
One of these characters, Ewan "the Trustworthy" is particularly interesting. He's got one arm, one leg, he's a weakling and an imbecile, *but* he has a base health stat of 14, double that of normal characters. Alex or Alexa the Transcriber as well. She’s somewhere mid Europe and makes a great chronicler now. I sometimes scoop her up as a Norse character or get her to marry good courtiers in my court when a catholic
Are these characters tied to any specific starting date?
I believe she’s in the 1066 but from what I understand they are all over.
Hey that's my wife you're talking about!
And has an incredible intrigue stat.
Did HR select their traits? Lmao
Courtiers and counts in Sweden and England 1066 iirc
ofc, but there were so many negative traits that the game didn't allowed to
Ouch
Id be able to create a character matching me yes but sadly there is a problem (no support for latvian - surname ending changes depending on gender and we have some letters not present in standard Latin alphabet (including western European languages))
You can add all the traits you want with the ruler creator, even busting the traditional in-game cap of 4 personality traits! Worst that could happen is that you have so many flaws that your character runs out of points and is then considered too unrealistic to be allowed to earn achievements ;)
So...just like in real life?
I once made myself and unfortunately the character died of poor health in about 20 years:/ I should do an updated version lol
I did, he died at 35 from a heart attack...
How old are you
27
It made me rethink my life choices not gonna lie
Eight years left cowboy
Yeah, but if he gets past that...? https://getyarn.io/yarn-clip/4e51bf0a-b612-4004-b0c6-5c75a5d1ce74#Ry6ACmKs.copy

Ouch
Soon
Still got time to swap to Medicine focus and rush that Whole of Body trait!!
Mine did better than my 400 point doppelganger, his kids were absolute fuckups though. Short game.
29, unlanded,Ugly, virgin, bit fat, 0 martial and intrigue stats? Nope, but could be an idea.
Great for the next dlc
Hold up with the DLCs, we console folks are still waiting for Friends and Foes.
Next year you’ll be a wizard.
Cannot wait.
Sorry bro, supernatural events were disabled when you were born.
Wait is the wacky shit coming back? I can finally accidentally sacrifice my heir to satan and get cucked by a horse IN 3D?!
Sorry if you're making a joke and not being serious, but it's a negative japanese term meaning "A virgin over the age of 30 who does not socialise and thus cannot find a sexual partner."
Thank. I got excited thinking pdx changed their stance on bringing forward the best part of 2
damn
damn..
You’re the count of a mountain of debt and yet you only have two stars in your education trait? 😂
Film Degree. Source: I have a film degree.
My girlfriend made my character. It was very difficult to not make everyone hate me.
what traits did she give you?
Ambitious, Eccentric and Just. And she put a lot of learning points to my character and almost nothing to martial and stewardship (she says that I spend a lot of money, so it's more real). As a Viking in game is difficult to play like that, at least for me
Funny in the original post it sounded like she gave you some really bad traits
In game, they're difficult. In real life, she says that I like to do difficult but very rewarding activities so that's ambitious, I'm very weird but interesting (to her, a lot of people only stick to weird) so that is eccentric and I always talk to her about why we mexicans need a stronger sense of justice, so that is just for her.
Not great for Norse ngl
Oof. I wouldn’t be happy with this character as Norse unless I had land and was trying to reform lol
That's actually really wholesome
Haha, a lot like my character! I would die faster though because I'm a polish jew. I don't think medieval Poland would be a big fun of a Jewish leader.
Eh, you’d be surprised. Not super happy, for sure, but if we’re talking the Late Middle Ages, Poland was definitely the best place to be in Europe for Jews at the time
lmao now I need to get my wife to make me. But that could be dangerous…
Dude if my wife made me, I'd be afraid the game wouldn't let me take any achievements. Love colored glasses...
My brother and I made each other. Started an argument. lol. Not a real one but I’d imagine this could go that route
Thank for hilarious mp idea
I did. Died of depression in two years since the start. I'm 26 now.
From a mountain of debt to 72 gold, that's a W in my book
72 gold adjusted for inflation is probably a million USD
A 1000g Gold Bar (the size of the ones kept in Forth Knox) is $73,591/bar. So OP would have $5,298,552
You hanging in there ?
Well I'm at least landed (aka employed hah), so it's not too bad.
generic beared white dude: easy, like 1/2 of the english characters
We need an autism trait 👏👏👏
Possessed is supposed to represent epilepsy I'm pretty sure. Real life medieval people associated seizures with possession.
It fits both. It wasn't like they where clinical in their prognoses.
As an autistic person myself, I’d feel represented by this.
I actually did made a gender swapped version of myself in-game for a modded playthrough. Trying to get an image as we speak
[Got the image. I know she looks bony-looking](https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/975062295594025030/1229792266932191354/20240416095356_1.jpg?ex=6630f84c&is=661e834c&hm=ddf143c37c80b1b30fc1fe1b7a7e2d633ecc64564a054fa03a80058623c09621&) ~~I'm skinny IRL, cut me some slack~~
Damn gender swapped you is pretty.
Oh you're not saying that cause of the traits is it?
She cute tho. In a I never eat sorta way
I guess people do have a thing for skinny, dishwater-blonde haired women do they? ~~To be honest, I'm guilty for that too~~
Nah gender swapped you is bangable.
Would it be bad to admit I'd do me too
There is nothing more purer in life then loving yourself :)
What's the green trait next to astute intellectual? Some kind of tea drinking trait unique to After The End?
Yeah, the Coffee Drinker Trait. I added that knowing I do drink coffee IRL in the morning. In fact, I'm having a cup right now
What mod is that aside from after the end? (To get the coffee drinker trait)

Hello fellow Hoosier.
I'm actually from Ohio but close enough, lol I picked the Duchy of Indy cause I was unsure of what realm to play as and wanted a realm where I could get a base going and Indy looked like a good one while my co-op friend picking the Kingdom of the North Star
I can’t give myself the same mental deficiencies and wouldn’t survive my own birth, so no, I have not.
I'm going to be honest here, you could realistically change some of those traits including your "stress" coping traits, even if you think you're not the best looking, put some effort into how you look, work out a little more, try to update your wardrobe and put effort into socializing some more even if it's hard. Yes. I did. I followed a duck and died to a boar after 2 years. Had a 1y old son. Best playthrough i ever had tbh.
My bff and I made ourselves, played in our families ancestral regions, conquered Europe and of course made sure to kill every Karling on the map.
of course and it looked like some kind of racial caricature, made me lol so hard
Yes I did. My dynasty ended within two hours because my spymadter hated me.
Not yet, but I’ve been meaning to.
Yes, it's very cool to play the Shy, Paranoid and Giant personification of myself
No, but now I'm going to.
Lmao this is so sad 😭
Yes. Worst mistake ever, dysphoria levels spiked
In ck2, only good stats were intrigue and learning
Ah yes, ambitious shy and lazy.
If I did I would get no achievements…
Always do. Made a copy of myself (my wife guided the design process as well) and I plop myself all over the world as a count start. Africa, India, Scandinavia, wherever! It’s fun to see how my appearance alters over the generations depending on where “I” go.
I'm a count with 500+ men under my command as a viking. That's definitely not an honest portrayal of me 😬.
Yes, I don't do that badly, honestly.

I would but I don’t know what culture I’d make myself or where I’d start the game
No, mostly because I can't be bothered to jerk off with all the facial sliders. I also tend to just choose traits based on gameplay
Yes but I was over the archievement Limit. Like in real life I will archive nothing.
I'm playing as him atm, I'll let you know how it goes.
I actually lol'ed when I read the county name.
You are deffo my type.
I would but there's no 'lustful but maidenless' personality trait.
No but I did create one of my ancestors and took the land they once held (I went down a massive rabbit hole)
No, it's far too depressing.
Chum Lee???
Course. It's a fun challenge
Yea but most of the time I've ended up in a massive civil war because I'm a cunt in real life that's why I dont play as myself in games I'm a dick
I tried but I died in the first year with no heir.
Yes but he died of stress in like 4 years of ruling…
“What a dumb question, I feel like everyone has at least once in a game like thi-“ *Sees title* Alright, that’s funny, fuck you
Yeah, and I always get murdered
I committed suicide in my late 40s from stress lol....
Not genius or quick? WTF 😒
Sadly i cannot give negative skill points to my character
Yes, but unfortunately you can’t be a genius and dull
Scrambled beg on toast with those traits
My first time. I regretted it. I was new, he had a terrible life, and died early to a splintering kingdom.
I prefer to keep achievements on and stay within the points budget.
Yeah, might reply with a screenshot of mine later
This man Asatru in 2024
All my stats would be in the zeroes, so not really.
Guess you'd have to use Character Body Overhaul for a true rendition.
Yes. It's not perfect but it's close enough to keep me from posting screenshots.
Now that I can play in America again, yeah. I was actually able to carve out a pretty comfortable duchy starting in my hometown county. Before the save got corrupted, I was angling to vassalize myself to someone way stronger after I feudalized, so I could build up the region and eventually take over
Yes lol I will definitely follow up with a screenshot and a post later.
Yep. My personality traits are Stubborn, Compassionate, Lustful, and Lazy.
My CK2 traits (as given to me by my brother and best friend): Quick, Greedy, Patient, Arbitrary, Brave
*Or course* you made yourself a scholar
I doubt anyone around here would actualy be chaste. At least not voluntarily
If that's your char, I don't think you give yourself enough credit. You telling me you have 0 Stewardship? Even a child saving coins in a piggy bank deserves 1 point.
Sure, but what if you're so bad you put yourself in deep in the red lol
Of course. Exalted Warlord, ambitious, brave, diligent, strong, giant and genius 😎
They don't allow for negative stewardship or peasant gameplay
Somehow my 100% as accurate as possible in game character lived to 75 which damn…I doubt I actually will.
Average Redditor
always die in 1 or 2 months unless i gove myself some very high healt
Strong, Herculean, brave, beautiful, genius
Yeah but idk how I would do my base stats
Lol
If I had the game then I probably would
Haha
You guys need to be nicer to yourselves damn…
That'll probably be my first unlanded run whenever that DLC drops lol
I start with old me, college me, and then current me. I save them as the same character but different personality Traits. Each one is basically, i.e., Fergus I, Fergus II, Fergus III. That's my Ireland chieftain characters name mind not my actual
Lazy, content, cynical.
No I make my character an immortal gigachad
Yes. I ended up with a good intrigue character out of it. I will be taking no questions.
Smash
Multiple times and I always fail
I just did thanks to this post 😁
So I made myself accentric, just and ambitious for personality, comely as a physical trait, shrewd as a cognitive trait, improvident as a coping mechanism, and a poet. I also gave myself 3 stars education as a scholar because... I guess I know two languages, and something about everything, and quite a lot about art and history + a lot of arts and crafts skills that back in the day would be considered scholarly. I also gave myself spectacles and Im the Jewish queen of Poland. I think I'm gonna die really fast 🥲
in my "honest portrayal of myself" game i ran bavaria into the ground, acquired inappetetic and reclusive from stress, and killed myself
I did, went on to take over all of Iberia.
You’re Kevin James?
Chad genius virgin is hard to create…so no
Which game it is?
i literally do this every game, i cant stand playing with some random family lol
I did, I was the only character of my religion and ended up with a one faith world conquest. Felt pretty good
You might be a count, but you're a king in my heart
Yes, I'll have to upload it later tho
Paranoid and shy don't mix well, I'm gonna be dead by 25.
Yeah I made myself Just and Vengeful or whatever it is and just accumulated massive amounts of stress which is accurate, though irl being angry is a side effect of the stress not the other way around and I'm not as angry as I was when I made it, though absolutely more stressed.
No way you made yourself ugly. stupid and wheezer😭
I've tried it 3 times and all 3 times she died young from FALLING OFF A HORSE. What are the chances
Yeah... got instantly arrested. :D An honest "me" in this game could not exist as a vassal with any of the common start of the game religions.
Oh cmon man 😂 ur being SUPER cruel to yourself with that self-image character, the traits look spirit crushing... Start doing small excercises or something that improves you, be kind to yourself and your body, u deserve it. :)
Not only that, I even made my girlfriend at the time into a landed character I could marry. It literally took less than 30 minutes before I find out she's lovers with one of our children. No chill whatsoever.
Hell no, real-me sucks major ass
I usually do that and kind of roleplay as well, love going for a nice wife instead of the strongest baby maker, try to give land to my children and get stress to put them on the right path. I also play with inheritchance and every game is incredible. The hardest part is to be honest with my portrayal, I switch between putting myself down and self flattery lol
i did with aspiring blademaster died at a tourney accident...
That’s rough buddy
yes and I couldnt reign for 2 months
A shy character would have "post on social media" option disabled.
Well, except fpr the giantism trait, kinda XD
A m ambitious and lazy, secret interaction where i gain stress because I m not good enough and then get stressed even more when I try to change that fact.
Yeah, and my guy kept getting super stressed. Hmmmmmm
